Gotta say you are hilarious!!!!! Watch a few of your HD videos and now you sound like a BMW fanatic LOL!!!! By the way I bought a almost new 1250 GS as a second bike and haven't ridden the HD since. You can spend thousands on the HD and it still doesn't ride like the BMW. Ride safe!!!!
Hi Mr. John! Our hearts are filled with happiness for you and your sport channel!! We watch your CF channel and have enjoyed your Harley Davidson content and experiences! We also own 2 BMW motorad bikes and sure to follow you and subscribe to this channel!! Love your passion and enthusiasm for all 2 wheeled adventures and exploring fun experiences to share with like minded bike enthusiast!! Congratulations!!
I’ve ridden a gs 1250 and a Rt when I took classes at bmw motorad in Greenville south Carolina. They have awesome classes there though a little expensive. I have owned several bmw bikes. I enjoy your new channel
Thanks John for the content I’ve scheduled a test ride for the k1600b and the 1250rt one of those will be coming home lol I have a street glide but looking to expand my horizons plus I love the sound of these bmw’s
I am Subscribing to your New Channel John, I’m from Norfolk Massachusetts and I love motorcycles no matter what, I am a Fan of yours keep making Great videos, my name is Don I am a Fan for life Thank you
Great review - I rode one myself, a couple of times, and loved it so much I bought one, a 2025 719 edition. Totally agreed about the wind protection - the first time I rode one, it was in the middle of summer, and it was a hot, hot day...and the wind protection was so good, I had to lower the windscreen when I was below 60 kph, to get more airflow on me! Side note, I've been watching your videos, and your buddy Flynride's too, because along with you both making enjoyable videos, I'm from NJ, and it's so great to hear people who sound like me. This video was especially nostalgic for me, because back before I went back to school and then entered my current profession (software engineer), I was a truck driver, and every Wednesday I used to do a pickup at the Shop Rite just a couple blocks north of that BMW dealership. Had a good friend who worked there who is unfortunately no longer with us...because of him, I think of that area every now and then. I've eaten at that Wendy's you passed!
Im surprised you didn't choose the GS as your tourer and went with the Yamaha instead especially after all the love your giving this bike in this video
Really enjoyed the brisk ride, a great advert for the gs Am waiting for the 1300rs to see which I prefer The 1250rs is quicker than 1250gs in real world riding I’m expecting the 1300rs to be ballistic and comfortable
Thank you for a review which inspires. I have another mission, should you choose to accept it, to make a simular one for the GSA when it becomes available. Also the automatic version. Cannot do it myself as the season is pretty much over in my country. Thanks again…
John, just saw your other channel that mentioned this channel, awesome my friend, I have a Harley and I have the BMW K1300S forget the GS with that tractor motor 😂 I know the K1300S is getting old but OMG its a beast still today!!
Hey John, Glad to see you doing some sports bike content. I’ve bought a 2022 Pan America Special from Bergen Harley because of your channel. Will be trading my Pan America for a BMW 1250 RT. Love the video you did of Nadal’s BMW. You make great content.
I can’t believe you found this out now, when you rode the 1250 you should have noticed, that’s why we all ride adventure bikes in Miami, mostly GS’s, glad you found out about this bike. Most Harley guys that switch over to this bike exclusively….
Just watched your video to come here funny I don’t have a HD however I’ve watched you for years because you’re entertaining I have owned a K1600b for years and ❤it now I can watch you on 2 channels great
I would suggest ridding a couple year old 1250GS loaded with all the options. After riding I think you will find you get 98 percent of what you experienced on the 1300GS but can get a used low mileage 1250GS for $16-18K, where as the 1300GS will be in the mid to high 20K. If you compare the two the 1250GS is actually faster in the 0-60, and in the 0-100 and the quarter mile the 1300GS is only .2 seconds quicker. The only thing the 1250GS is lacking is the adaptive ride height which you probably don't need, the adaptive cruise control, the blind spot monitoring and the electric windscreen. Replacing the windscreen on the 1250GS with a slightly larger one will get you all the wind protection you need, and the same blind spot monitoring on the 1300GS is available as an aftermarket if you so wanted. Other than that I rode both and unless I was really looking for something I had a very similar experience on both. BMW does not make drastic changes on the GS platofrm but makes smaller improvements and add ons throughout the years and model changes. I think that is one reason the GS has been so successful.
They are definitely both equally good, but I think the new innovations that are on the 1300 are pretty noticeable as far as the power weight and handling. In my opinion.
@@DB-jv9ok the only thing that I find lacking with my 1250 GSA is time to ride it. Other than that the 1300 has a different gear ratio in 5th and 6th gear for improved comfort at highway speeds. That’s actually the main reason I’m planning for a swap next season.
John u should consider blurring out that mph, unless u have a disclaimer, unless u r on that private road in mexico that u own,lol just looking out awesome vid man
Before you buy the GS you need to test drive a 2023 or 2024 R1250 RS. 2 additional requirements though. You have to get the BMW tubular handlebars and the red/white/blue paint scheme. You’ll love it!!! The perfect mix between the GS and the S1K RR. Trust me!! A true sports tourer. You may need an aftermarket tall windscreen.
I've had a half dozen opportunities to test ride a new R1300GS and have intentionally avoided them. Really happy with my '23 R1250RT and 2023 Harley Highway King for now and don't want to be tempted.
Can you speak to the white rectangular box that flashes often on the display (along with the tach indicator bar). Seems like its a shift indicator. It was annoying to me when I rode the bike. Is that what it is and did you notice it? Can it be turned off?? Great review. i agree with all you said and LOVE the screen. Compared to the screen on the 1250 GSA, night and day!
Need to get the Chigee CarPlay device that came out for the BMW… $499.. Plus, you do not have to do anything to the motor to get the power. Throw on an AKro, or Arrow or SC pipe and listen to the symphony.
Definitely a nice bike but you already have a BMW on the channel, think you should add a different brand to keep things interesting. So many good bikes out there made by other manufacturers....
Great video. I’m currently looking to add a second bike to the stable and I’m torn between the bmw r1250rt and the k1600gt. I love the inline 6 of the k1600, not too sure how I feel about those boxer motors. Would love to get your opinion on the boxer vs the inline 6.
@@cyclefanatixsportI’ve ridden both. Yes the 1600 is heavier and less agile, but really smooth and relaxing on the highway. So it’s a matter of preference. The 1300 boxer is noticable less viby than the 1250 and combined with the change in gear ratio (5th and 6th gears) I expect the new 1300 RT when launched will close much of this gap wrt comfort.
I'm wondering if there's a way to adjust the quick shifter? My S1KRR sounds like it has the same issue as that bike it's quite hard to shift.. especially down I really have to put some effort into it.
