The Fishing Specialties mount is capable of holding both the Live Scope Transducer and a regular transducer on the bottom. Just run the Live Scope cable through the tube 1st. I like the mount I'm using because it stays stationary and doesn't change every time the trolling motor turns. I use spot lock a lot and that causes the trolling motor to change direction an awful lot. If I want to turn the beam, then I reach down and move it by hand or simply turn the boat. So far I've had zero problems with the beam being next to the trolling motor. Thanks for the comment and watching!!
Great, thoughtful video... but at the end your diagram doesn't go over the POWER. I assume they both run off their own power, how did you connect that?
I have the 12 volt power going to the starting battery. I changed the battery to a deep cycle/starting type. These units pull a lot of power. Thanks for watching and the comment.
Great walkthrough. I have a similar setup that I'm about to start working on except I haven't received the LS yet. How far can the chartplotter be from the module with the wiring that comes in the box? I'm hoping I don't have to buy any more cables.

I have not read all the comments but I do hope that you put a 0° mount on that LVS 32 since you're using a pole mount..and not on your trolling motor 😊
FYI: Garmin says you can break some of the fine grade wiring when you zip tie the LiveScope transducer cable. They recommend using tape (electricians tape) for each attachment of the transducer cable. VERY important on a $1000 transducer!!!
Thanks for the comment. I should have mentioned that the zip tie is only loosely applied and the wire can move around underneath it. You are correct, it's very important not to torque on the zip tie.
Doing same thing now. I noticed the 93sv that the transom transducer goes to is not linked to any other units. So if you mark a way point using that units sidescan it would not show up on any other unit. Am I correct and if so is because you ran out of ports on the expander?
Yea, it's an older model so it doesn't network with the newer models, even if there was an open port. So I typically only mark waypoints on the two new units.
How did you wire the power to these? Did you pull separate power cables directly from the battery to each electronic? Or did you run a thicker gauge wire and piggyback/split power at an electronics bus with fuses?
I ran the stock wiring from each unit back to a distribution block connected to my batteries. I did another video on panoptix power issues, and I go into more depth on my wiring configuration. Just go to my channel and you should see it listed. Thanks for the question and watching.
I love your setup and considering biting the bullet and purchasing the Livescope system. Do you have any regrets with the Echomap 93sv or the Fishing Specialist transducer mount or would you recommend them to me after a full fishing season with them. Liked all your Livescope videos - thanks in advance.
I think it depends on what type of fishing you do. If you're a panfish/bass fisherman, then I think it's (Livescope) worth it. If you fish for carp, catfish or muskies, then you have to really weigh the risk reward aspect. If you do any type of jigging where your line is going straight down, then the Livescope is utterly amazing. If you are throwing baits on the shore and retrieving, it can still help, but the effect is diminished somewhat. Personally, I think $1500 is a bit much. But you have to pay a premium for new products. I would highly recommend the Fishing Specialties mount. It allows me to easily turn the 'ducer and also pull it out of the water when I have to retrieve lures close to the bank. It's the only place I would mount it, except maybe the transom. As for the Echomaps, I think you get the most bang for the buck with them, and I highly recommend them. Hope that helps, and tight lines my friend!!
I am working on installing the same setup on my boat. I have one question though. Since all the units are networked together, they will share waypoints between the 93SV plus units correct?
So one more question. It looks like the transducer cable is wired to the Livescope box, and the livescope box is out of the way in a hatch. I was thinking that I would stow the transducer pole in a rod holder when not using but now I'm having second thoughts about stowing it because wouldn't I have to unhook the transducer cable from the livescope box each time? Do you stow your transducer when you aren't using it or do you keep it on the deck all the time?
I stow mine across the bow with some kayak paddle clips. I demonstrate it in the video. Just make sure you leave enough free cord, it doesn't take much. Thanks
Have you upgraded or thought about upgrading any components in the video since the GT56 transducer just came out and the UHD versions of the echomap came out? How do you feel the quality of the terrova transducer works with the garmin products compared to the garmin transducers?
I haven't upgraded and I'm not sure I will. I'm still trying to recover from spending all those funds the first go around. I ended up not using the usb2 transducer once I realized the panoptix transducer has chirp 2d. The usb2 is usable, but it's not chirp.
Thanks for sharing. I'm curious how The GT34 and GT52 transducers will compare to the new GT54UHD-TM Ultra High-Definition Scanning Sonar All-in-one Transducer. I'm trying to figure out what to setup I want for a pontoon.
@@anonymous_friend So far it hasn't been too bad. I typically don't adjust it much when fishing, just as you wouldn't adjust a transducer mounted on the transom. I like the flexibility of being able to move it, but also leave it stationary. It's kind of the best of both words (similar to trolling motor mount and transom mount in one). But that's just me. LOL
@@fishingwithjc8475 Ok cool , I think I get it. You lock the rotating pole mount down so the transducer is in a fixed position, and instead shift your boat with the trolling motor to adjust what you see with the transducer? Is that right?
@@anonymous_friend That's what I do. I use the forward position so it's shooting in front of my boat, and if I want to see what's to the left I turn my left. If I'm anchored down and I want to view to the left/right, then I unlock the mount and turn it left/right. They also sell a handle that you can mount to the top, so that's an option if you find yourself turning it by hand a lot. Tight lines my friend!

Real nice job JC. I just got mine! I have two 73 sv's. So does Livescope come with everything I need to pair the two? Have you had any issue with power drain? Did you hook up to the starter battery or set up a stand alone battery for the Livescope? What type of battery and size? Thanks for your hard work.
Thanks for the comment. I will give you my take, but you may want to contact Garmin as they are the experts. You'll need a network cable to join the two. I also believe you'll need a piece of hardware too. I went with the HD ducer. It kills two birds. Yes, these things suck power like crazy. You'll need a powerful deep cycle battery. I've got the 93sv uhd at my console hooked up to the uhd transducer on my transom . I bought the same bowducer pole from fishing speciates to put live scope on. will the live scope hook to my 93sv uhd without unhooking my transducer on the back of the boat? I would only be using 1 at a time till I can buy a screen for the bow.
You won't be able to hook both transducers directly to the sonar units (unless the new uhd's have dual sonar inputs). You will need some sort of network connector to connect the two units together. Once they are connected, any transducer that's connected to either unit will be shared between the two units. I hope that helps. Tight lines my friend!
I just purchased a second 93 sv plus and planning on adding Livescope. Can I just use the black box that comes with the livescope to network both 93 plus units to see Livescope on both? My GT 52 transducer is hooked up to my console 93sv. Will I also be able to view down and sidescan on my bow unit that the Livescope will be connected to? Thanks!
Unfortunately, no. You will need either a network box or the HD transducer setup that I've utilized. The cost difference is negligible, so I went with the HD ducer.
@@bransayler I recommend you contact Garmin too. They are the authoritative source for their products, and I'm sure they will give you the best advice for your setup.
So the trolling motor [us2] transducer is only 2d [no chirp] , where the GCV20 is chirp and HD down/side VU. The GCV20 also allows you to network other sonar units, so I felt it was a must and the quality is far superior. Thanks for the view and comment!
Hi one question, I'm thinking to buy echomap UHD 95sv and I want to connect with panoptix like u did but I'm gonna have only one screen, so can i connect my normal chirp transducer into screen directly and get panoptix network cable from screen to blackbox, and actuall panoptix transducer 24 pin to the black box, is it gonna work like that or I need more ports ? They weren't needed for my install. Those wires are for connecting things like speed gauges and other nav gear. You most likely won't need them either.
Just FYI if you ever out in saltwater or brackish you can NEVER ground to the boat itself. Always ground to battery, you’ll eat your boat alive inside out from galvanic corrosion. Otherwise looks good brother!

I agree. I'm working on another video that shows the power and ground. It discusses power related issues that I've experienced. Thanks for the view and comment.
It does a couple of things. It's main purpose is to provide high definition signals to the Echomap plus units. Secondly, it networks the two plus units together and allows them to share all attached transducers (minus the old 93sv unit that is on its own). I believe they sell a networking unit, but that's all it does is networking. The GV20 allowed me to network and get high def signals, it's a win-win. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Fishing with JC The new Garmin UHD garmin echomaps 93sv already have built in high def pictures with the gt-54 transducer.......if you have multiple UHD echomap units you would just need the gms-10 network box to share data between those units
I’m being told by Garmin that the module needs to be grounded to the boat to prevent an error I keep receiving, “transducer not detected”. If this error shows, I was having to unplug the transducer cable and plug back in to reset. I will try grounding and see if this takes care of that error message.
Originally I had it on my starter battery and I'd get about 6 hours. I recently changed that battery to a combo starter/deep cycle. I'll have to get back to you on how long it lasts. When the voltage drops, you lose the Panoptics first. All my equipment places a large drain on the battery, so a deep cycle is vital.
Because of the trolling motor I have. It's a Terova and it's not a cable drive. You can't wire tie the cable to the shaft because of the way it is deployed. Plus I have spot lock and the motor head is constantly moving. I just wanted it to point in the direction the boat is facing and then if I want to change where it's pointing, I can just turn it. Lastly, I can pull the transducer totally out of the water if I need to retrieve a stuck lure in shallow water. Thanks so much for question my friend and I hope you'll consider subscribing.

Done
I am working on installing the same setup on my boat. I have one question though. Since all the units are networked together, they will share waypoints between the 93SV plus units correct?
Yes.
Thanks
I may have missed it in someone else's comments, but what did you do with the brown and blue wires on the power cord of the 93+ unit?
They aren't needed, so I just taped them off.
They are for NMEA 0183 devices
Good Job! Thanks Can you view livescope on your other units as well?
I can on the ones that are networked together. The one older model can't be networked with the newer ones, unfortunately.
Thank you
Have you upgraded or thought about upgrading any components in the video since the GT56 transducer just came out and the UHD versions of the echomap came out?
Also curious if you end up finding that it is a pain to bend over on the bow to have to adjust the rotation of the transducer on that pole mount.
Personally, I think the UHD transducer is well worth the money. Especially if you are wanting to network 2 or more sonar units together.
Great video. Thanks for any advice 🙏
I created a video just on the power issues you can have with the Panoptix. It's definitely a power hog. Give it a watch, it may answer some of your questions and give you some idea of how I dealt with my power issues. It's called 2020 Garmin Panoptix Livescope Power Issues. Thanks for the view and enjoy your new setup.

@@DeeDee-vu5mi I may end up adding another battery and installing a switch. I think it's a great idea, thanks!
On the GLS10 module did you water ground it too? There is a connector, just wondering if it needed to be water ground.
All my units are grounded at a common location and that common ground is grounded on the negative post of my battery. I've changed things up a bit and I've been thinking of doing a video on how everything is wired. Look for video soon. Thanks for watching and your comment. If haven't already, please consider subscribing. Much appreciated.
Mine are on the starter, but it's a deep cycle. Talk to Garmin to see what they recommend. Thanks again and tight lines my friend.
@@fishingwithjc8475 so you went with a DEEPCYCLE / Starting battery. I have the option and room to upgrade to a 27 series Deep cycle / starting battery. Do you think this is better than just a regular starting battery? I'm liking your vid and thanks for taking the time to make it.
@@toyman2k yes if you're going to put your electronics on the starting battery. If you have room to go to a 27 group, I think you should do it. I'm definitely an amateur and it's a good thing I don't have to make a living doing videos. I'd starve for sure! But thanks for watching and dropping a comment. Tight lines my friend!
Really did a very informative video. My units come tomorrow.
Thanks, hopefully you got something useful from my ramblings (lol). Good luck, I know you'll love the units.
So my network port on my black box is ruined. Do you happen to know where I can find that small piece?
I would recommend calling garmin. Their customer service is great.
@@fishingwithjc8475 Thanks for the reply and clarification 👍
@@bransayler I recommend you contact Garmin too. They are the authoritative source for their products, and I'm sure they will give you the best advice for your setup.
How is the quality difference from the trolling motor to the gcv20 box?
So the trolling motor [us2] transducer is only 2d [no chirp] , where the GCV20 is chirp and HD down/side VU. The GCV20 also allows you to network other sonar units, so I felt it was a must and the quality is far superior. Thanks for the view and comment!
Do you ever move the livescope pole to view it buy your console or just so more at the bow?
@@dajahvue I always leave it where it's mounted, on the bow. I turn it side-to-side, but always from that position.

Thanks hopefully you will understand what I want.

There is an icon on your screen that you select and it should say Panoptix.
so it doesn't start until u start it from your monitor? Sounds odd... did you install a switch for the black box on the panoptix?
@@ifishcatfish no switch is needed. It works the same as down-vu or side-vu. There's an icon on the monitor that you select to switch between them.
Look in the installation guide for LS it recommends a switch to turn on/off the black box. Otherwise you better have a lot of battery capacity.

Do you need to get the black box if you use it with the ice fishing bundle kit
I'm not familiar with the ice fishing bundle, but if you call Garmin they would be able to answer your question. Their customer service number is (913) 397-0872.
Corey,
Did you ever get the answer you were looking for? I really cant find any info that is dealing with the ice budle. I may have to call garmin.
wickedmethods everyone I’ve spoken to says it’s required. I’ve found the box for 400 on eBay and the 32 transducer on there for 840
Corey Flaa sounds good thank you for your reply
wickedmethods those are new prices. Hoping they don’t drop a lot next week! Where are you fishing wicked?
Just curious, can the Live View be viewed on more than 1 unit?
In my setup they can be viewed on the two 93sx units because they are networked together. So any transducer that is plugged into either unit is shared between the two screens. Hope that helps.
Where do the blue@brown wire go. Just purchased the 75sv. Thanks
They weren't needed for my install. Those wires are for connecting things like speed gauges and other nav gear. You most likely won't need them either.
@@fishingwithjc8475 Blue brown wires if I am correct are for NMEA 0183 devices..IE. VHF radio
Just FYI if you ever out in saltwater or brackish you can NEVER ground to the boat itself. Always ground to battery, you’ll eat your boat alive inside out from galvanic corrosion.

Will the 93sv plus in the back be able to see the livescope like the front 93sv at the same time too?

@@fishingwithjc8475 This looks like a very nice setup so I'm following your diagram. Great video
Thanks
Informative. It would have been complete if you also showed the actual connections to your power source. The power source was not shown in your schematic @24:45 nor any footage of it and it's connectors.
I agree. I'm working on another video that shows the power and ground. It discusses power related issues that I've experienced. Thanks for the view and comment.
The Garmin gv20 what does that do in the system

I grew up in Raceland.
I’m being told by Garmin that the module needs to be grounded to the boat to prevent an error I keep receiving, “transducer not detected”. If this error shows, I was having to unplug the transducer cable and plug back in to reset. I will try grounding and see if this takes care of that error message.
I got that error once too. I will have to check my ground as well. Thanks for the tip!
Where do i connect the ground wire to?
The installation guide says to hook the ground wire to the negative terminal of the battery.
The more I use mine the more I like it
Can't wait to try it out.
Can you see live scope on both screens
Yes, because they are networked together. But you will be looking at the same view.
what's the battery life?
Originally I had it on my starter battery and I'd get about 6 hours. I recently changed that battery to a combo starter/deep cycle. I'll have to get back to you on how long it lasts. When the voltage drops, you lose the Panoptics first. All my equipment places a large drain on the battery, so a deep cycle is vital.
Where do you get the pole
I have it linked in the description too. Fishing Specialties Bowducer Mount: fishingspecialties.com/
why not mount the transducer to the trolling motor. then when you turn the motor it looks in that direction.
Would there not be good coverage if you mounted the transducer on the transom
You can mount it on the transom, but I fish from the bow and I wanted to shoot the beam out in front of me.

Take the zip ties off your cable use waterproof tape just saying
I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. I've watched a similar video, and they couldn't stress enough about NEVER using zip ties.
My zip tie was loosely attached, not torqued down. The wire can move freely underneath the zip tie so no pressure is being exerted. It is just there to prevent the wire from getting caught on structure. I should have mentioned that in the video, as it is very important not to torque on the zip tie (as you mentioned). Thanks!!
