Do you ever do zone 2 training for boxing (low heart rate zone for metabolic flexibility training) would love to hear about that if it's something you do
By the time Naseem came around in the 1990s, I'd been following boxing for over 30 years. The featherweights didn't get much attention by that decade, though Salvador Sanchez, Eusebio Pedroza and Ruben Olivares grabbed some attention over the years. Nobody brought the fireworks to that division like "The Prince." He ignored all the classic rules about footwork, defense, dropping your hands, avoiding your opponents power punches and maintaining distance while searching for weaknesses. Hamed would dance in and out without caring about the consequences. He'd get so close, then get a couple of more decent punches in while dancing backwards out of danger. His power with either fist was spooky. Weirdest style of any boxer who won a title, but so much fun to watch. Breaking his hand (the left?) basically ended his career after Barrera took him apart. Pity, Hamed should have made the all-time top-10 list of featherweights.
