Morning Chris. Hope you're well. I tried yesterday to join the 100k investment group but for some reason I am having issues. Would you be able to contact me as I'm aware time is running out. Cheers
@@martincheesman5666Hi Martin could you drop me an email at chris.palmer.yt@gmail.com and I’ll help you? Thanks! 🙏
Hi Chris, Thank you for the recommendation. Just for clarification: in the video you are showing your Vanguard portfolio, but you are recommending Invest Engine. Doest this mean you use Invest Engine for your first 20 K and then invest the rest on Vanguard?
@@ASzulesznoAnyuka-ww8nmat the moment my ISA is on Invest Engine and my SIPP on Vanguard 😊
Will you be moving your SIPP to investengine at somepoint? Does investengine have the same analytical tools as vanguard?
Also, why did you choose investengine vs trading 212 or freetrade just out of interest?
Thanks for the update Chris, Portfolio doing great. The end screens didn't pop up for some reason. Take care buddy.
Thanks 🙏 really appreciate it. Tried to publish it while on my phone in Poland 😅 seems to be missing the option!
Nice video.
It's worth mentioning that although there's a £60k limit for pension contributions each year, you can't contribute more than your gross annual income each year.
Fantastic progress chris 👏. You'll The hit the 100k very soon. 100k club and workshop is fantastic. Really enjoying the workshop. Looking forward to the next portfolio update.
Thanks Hussam 🎉 really appreciate it 🙏 makes it all worthwhile
Keep the great work up mate you are an inspiration !! Greetings from London
I hit 100K last year and I’m already up to 180K. It’s so exciting watching the compounding. It must be INCREDIBLY satisfying once you get to 500K+. Ella 1% move is then £5,000.
Amazing! Well done 👍 incredible gains. I know I keep thinking one day 😂
It’s funny because I keep saying I can’t wait till I’m at £100k (just over half way) then once there be like now I can’t wait till I’m at £500k. Us humans never happy 😂
@@Oldyellowbrick exactly, we keep wanting more lol
What are you invested in to gain that much? 😊
@@connordarnbrough6284 ah that’s a mixture of profits and contributions :)
Thanks for the update Chris, its always interesting to see the journey......and as you say, its always nice to see green.
Thanks Tim much appreciated glad this video has done well I like doing them 🙏
I must admit it ‘s way more than I expected for a channel this size. Can’t imagine what Andrei Jikh or Graham Stefan make
I would say both make $5mill+ per year now 😂 mines way smaller because I’m UK based. Be interesting if more people actually shared it
It’s great to see your progress Chris. That 100k barrier is not too far!
Thanks! Shouldn’t be too long now hopefully 😊
Hi Chris, excellent video and it is nice seeing someone in the finance sector being honest. Keep up the good work.
I have just sold my emerging markets tracker, so thank you for mentioning you are considering it as well. I now think I have done the right thing. It was the lowest increase out of my ETF’s and have now gone for FWRG (which includes emerging markets) and have put 50% in FWRG and 50% in VHVG.
Sounds great! I think I’ll be doing the same thing too
Very interesting and relatable. I hope people appreciate the sincerity and transparency amply on display here
Hi Chris,
I usually don’t comment on videos but just wanted to express my gratitude to you for sharing your personal income. This has really given the insights and motivation I needed to start investing into Pension. Thank you for putting in the time and effort and for the wonderfully useful content.
Thanks so kind of you to say 👍 you’ve got this!
Great video!
Thanks!
Great Stuff Chris.. I'm heading to the 400K club.
Wow amazing well done! 👍
Hi Chris I have a question regarding your two fund strategy, Developed world and Emerging Markets. How often are you planning on rebalancing? And how do you plan to review the weightings? And how often do you plan to do this?
Cracking progress Chris well done that man!
My only portfolio drag this year has been UK stocks. Otherwise the ‘usual’ ETFs have performed well. Additionally, SMGB has given me 26% in circa 2 months. Good luck everyone
Thanks! I know that feeling 😅glad I’ve not got them now, I’d consider switching personally. Well done on the other one!
Maybe Chris could have advised you to steer away from LSE as it's well known the LSE is a bad investment
Candid numbers earned a quick sub.
Appreciate it thank you 🙏
Hi Chris, thank you for sharing. I’ve learned so much from your videos, they are amazing and well explained.
Also Can you or anyone skilled in here explain how did you calculate your real returns? (12,74%)on Vanguard please?
Hey! If you look at 8:11 you can see how much I’ve contributed and how much they’ve returned to me which is where the figure comes from 😊
You don’t appear to have any small caps, thought about including either WLDS or ISP6 on your invest engine portfolio-awesome work btw
I know! I have quite mixed feelings about needing them honestly. It would be fun to watch though for sure. Which do you own?
Such a genuine and humble guy, I like! Yeah, regarding losing historical data, I switched from S&P500 to Global All Cap but took screenshots so I retained an idea of how far I'd come.
Thanks Kirsten 🙏 all cap is great 👍 good idea on the screenshots!
Great video Chris! Just wondering why you prefer developed world ETF over all world ? Do you advise avoiding emerging markets?
Emerging very debatable I go back and forth on it, my ISA has it and this doesn’t. With 10% in Emerging this is almost identical to a world fund just cheaper. Take a look at my two fund strategy video :)
Great video Chris! Wonderful tips to consider!
Does invest engine have a cap on how many portfolios you can set up?
I believe it's 20 on general accounts
Great question I’m not fully sure! How many are you thinking? 😅hopefully you only need a couple
Nice video!
I have VWRL. How does it compare to VHVG?
It’s all world instead of just developed world and pays a dividend mines automatically reinvested I would go for VWRP instead if I were you
@@chrispalmer24 I have mine auto-invested, if that helps.
Nice one Chris. Since you're investing you're channel income I expect that over the long run you'll make way more than the owner of a gaming channel with 10x the views but they don't invest their income.
Thanks mate! I hopefully will. To be honest the views pay a lot more than gaming so 20k for me could be 200k for them, but being niched to the UK is small. Once I hit 100k I’ll likely have to split the money to a house and paying down the mortgage too but been super happy to get this far 😊
Hi chris
Where is the link to the newsletter you were referring to?
Hi mate it’s ChrisPalmer.co
I have a lump sum to invest? Would it be better to stagger or to invest all at once. With parts of the market seemingly overvalued and risk of a possible crash would it be better to pound cost average rather than lump sum invest?
Statistics say lump sum but I would say it depends, trying to time the market isn’t great, but if you can continue to average in just get it in there and keep going 🙂
Just whack it all in. If not, you'll probably end up over analysing each month and if the market drops or rises you'll start debating if you want to delay each contribution. Then you'll miss the good days...
Hi Chris. Would love to join in on the class but unfortunately the price is a little too steep, I invest what I can even though I'm on a pretty low income so looks like I'll have to make my own way to 100k. Hope it goes well for everyone who has access and would like to see some evidence based content on the outcomes! Good luck everyone
Thanks Jeff, appreciate it. If you drop me an email I’ll let you know if something suitable crops up in the future and the mailing list for results etc. Chris.palmer.yt@gmail.com
hi Chris , as someone looking to start investing in an ISA with a long period of time to wait , would you recommend investing in the S&P500 fund or diversofitying a little with a developed world and a devolving world split of around 95:5 ?
thanks for all the great work
Hey chris
Are yu investing in vanguard or investengine ?
And are yu investing in a pension SIPP or ISA?
Thamks Tahir
Hey Tahir 👋 I’ve got my ISA in Invest engine and my SIPP on Vanguard
I have been wondering, if you decide to withdraw your stocks and shares like right now, is it really tax free if you have been only been putting max 20k per year?
Yeah it’s 100% tax free if I withdraw. Although I’d then pay tax on the interest and anything I spend it on but you know 😂 life..
@@chrispalmer24 that is true. 😆 Thank you for the response.
Why is this only published 2 days ago if it's covering September to November?
It’s just how I end up grouping it to be honest, I do a bulk few months save doing these every month and there being 3x as many episodes. Plus there’s recording time, editing, compliance 😂 slow process. I may do them more often though if they prove popular! This one’s done great so makes sense to
If I ever find myself with £100,000 to invest, I'd definitely want to diversify my portfolio to mitigate risks. But with the current market volatility, I'm not sure what the best approach would be.
Does vangaurd pay dividends on Trading212?
Yep just depends which fund you buy
At 6:02 are you saying you’ve paid in £73k
"keep investing on a consistent basis"? It's sound advice, but why is this mandatory? If I dump £20k in an index fund and check it 10-20 years later, is it not fair to say that it will have increased in size massively?
It definitely should but investing consistently is the best way to grow
@@chrispalmer24 possibly, but given that overall time spent in the market is important, would it be better to invest £20k over 1 year and leave it sitting for 10 years, rather than investing £2k a year for 10 years? i would have thought the former is preferable due to the tendency for the stock market to keep climbing over the long term.
Chris, how did you calculate your real return of 12.74% ?
Hey! If you look at 8:11 you can see how much I’ve contributed and how much they’ve returned to me which is where the figure comes from 😊
@@chrispalmer24 awesome thanks
Love your channel Chris but I find it hard to follow, please please just slow down a little bit could you. Thanks
Thanks for the feed back Don, to be honest it’s part of the problem of TH-cam as a platform it’s all based on retention and people switch off so fast. It’s part of the reason I made the 100k workshop so I could just do it all on my all terms and slow it down and keep it simple.
It also restricts me on the content I can make, like investing for kids or a pension platform review or walkthrough just really doesn’t do great
@@chrispalmer24 imho in the British market, we want calm delivery, the USA is obviously always OTT and full of hype
Watch one of my favourites, ( unbelievably he’s American). Joseph Carlson
Is the £60,000 pension contribution limit for everyone or are you limited by 100% of your earnings?
Yeah it’s for everyone this year. I haven’t been able to hit it, but still made good progress. I have a little more to add before the end but think I’ll be nearer 30k-40k
I'm fairly certain you're limited to 100% of your gross earnings each year.
@@simonwl That's what I thought. I'll check out the government website.
@@kw8757 From the HRMC website:
You can get tax relief on private pension contributions worth up to 100% of your annual earnings.
Why are you handling this level of income as a sole trader? If you paid your ad revenue, referral bonuses, and sponsorship into a Ltd company structure. You could then pay direct to your sipp from the ltd co which is tax deductible. Leaving zero tax liability. Have you got an accountant?
Hi Dave! I do, I’m considering doing this shortly. I do pay the tax but get it back through the bonus currently. But it would reduce corporation tax liability. The main issue I’ve had is my company is VAT registered and TH-cam isn’t. I haven’t wanted the accounting headache up till now of routing this through another company and incurring more costs. Self employed is so easy. The saving would cost me more in accountant fees tbh. I’m likely going to pay this income in from my company in future though
To good to be true
In what way? I’m showing screen recordings to try and show it as transparently as possible 🤔
Catchy headline but you didn't make an investment gain of 67% you added significantly to the fund(s).
No the stock market had 7 stocks that did that mentioned in the video :) I have to make them catchy or they just flop honestly and aren’t worth making
I have lost 25k investing in individual shares !! I got 22k left ....been burnt to many times .....trying to get it back but difficult.....maybe transfer the whole lot from my trading isa in to vanguard index funds but Yank markets are at all time highs...so is that advisable
I would avoid individual as much as possible as possible. I’ve been there too. Think of it like if you are invested already, moving to another investment you are still invested and move from that point forward. I would suggest a world fund rather than too much focus on the US
Have you got accounts on tiktok? I think they are pretending to be you??
Chrispalmerr and Chrispaalmerr
I’ve just got the one ChrisPalmerr is me 👍 there’s an awful problem with people cloning me on there 😔 TikTok won’t do anything about it
Funny how u don't say how much fees and tax u paying on all you income.
I do Nic - that’s why I say I’m saving 30% for tax, 20% income tax and 10% roughly covers my NI contributions and I add the rest. The tax is boosted back in the pension by the government 👍
That 67% is based upon 7 stocks that you didnt buy. The vanguard fund youve invested has only grown 6% per year. Your portfolio has grown simply because youve invested large amounts. You appear to be stretching the truth to drive afiliate and ad revenues.
Yes and at no point do I claim that, it’s just how TH-cam works as a platform, you have to make people click or you’ll get 0 views unfortunately. It’ll be the same across most channels you watch. It would have been different if I said “I made 67% in a year!”
Great video!!!
Thanks Kelly!
