It's time for part 2 of my African journey!
In my latest Travel series episode, we're back in South Africa with Horizon Horseback, setting off on our first ride to a new camp. This time, we're leaving the comforts of the lodge behind and heading to Camp Davidson, a more rustic camp nestled in the heart of the bush.
But here's the twist - I'm switching horses! Meet Ceaser, a five-year-old Boerperd horse, as we navigate the wilderness together. And keep your eyes peeled, because Ceaser is in for a surprise as he encounters his very first giraffe.

Cesar is probably one of the most genuine horses I’ve ever seen bless him, such a positive guy. Just goes to show the quality of horses they really have and the temperaments are to die for !!! It just shows that the horses just love their jobs ❤

GORGEOUS! All of it! The horses look great (some other places I've seen vids from, they look underfed and weedy), you guys are legends, and Pete's work here is really next level. What an amazing opportunity! I would love to do this--can never in a million years afford it, though, so at least I can do it vicariously, thanks to you!

Wow, wow, wow! So much fun and what an amazing experience. Cesar is superb. I also like the look of the main guides horse, a lovely bright chestnut.
Just a note for the editing, I'm not a fan of the split screen (in the last video especially), its quite difficult to keep up and see what is going on, plus for epilepsy its very triggering.
Otherwise I love the videos, Simon needs to be a frequent addition please❤
I am so chuffed (proud/pleased) to see how much fun you had in my home-country!! Yes, boerperd horses are smart - they're like a cowboy breed, they know many things, know how to deal with and sustained energy 😀Sad you missed seeing the Lippies though; I guess that means you'll have to come back and visit Cape Town! (and letting your SAn fans know ahead to do a big meet-up!) The saddles are a mix between english and western, and are known as 'trail saddles', I'm addicted to them loll

Your horses would totally be able to do it! 😅😅 Here in Norway we got lot of tracks in the woods with similar difficulties, and all kinds of horses do yhem! Like Simon said; give them their head and make them use their brain! 😄👍😄 Love your humor and of course the beauty of your adventur!!! Ceasar is a beautiful boy!!!

Wow, did you see the African Fish Eagle fly up at 36:46 when they start the "long splashy canter"? It's like a bald eagle but it has a bigger white head area.

Well, no croc is gonna worry about a bunch of horses, other than to get out of the way LOL. They don't eat things that large or waste energy on pointless kill attempts. 🙂
There must be a lot of Arabian in the making of the breed that Caesar is. Arabians are quite sure footed.

What in the world is an “American Saddleback horse”? 😆😆 Did you mean saddlebred? Or I’m assuming if you were referring to the white face you meant Quarter horse.

Actually some of the oldest rocks in the world are in South Africa. Part of my master's thesis involved analyzing fossils in 2.5 billion year old rocks from there! Pete is very correct.

Caesar’s ears are giving Arabian vibes , lovely
The history of the Boerperd is divided into two phases. A first phase took place between around 1652 and 1836, when the first horses arrived at the Cape - Barb-Arabian crosses imported from Java. Bred with Andalucian and Persian Arab horses, these animals formed the basis of a recognised breed known at the time as the Cape Horse.
He he a hippo fart in the night lol helicopter shit and a fantastic noise lol 😂
