- This fun project allows us to turn a laundry room into a true multipurpose room, allowing it to become a guest room, with the addition of a pull down wall bed, otherwise known as a Murphy Bed.
We bought a hardware kit on Amazon, which included the instructions for the construction of the bed itself and added our own rustic final touches, including barn wood and an iron knocker for a handle.

functional art piece nice job guys, that will help collect a few more Benjamin's out of that room! Thanks for Sharing...
Definitely! thanks
Very impressive wall-deco but functional bed. Now, a couple of pieces of Amy's art work attached would give it POP!
haha I like the sound of that!
That is a very nice bed! And the barn wood looks fabulous with the rest of the look! 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
Love the Murphy bed! Great job
Awesome! Thank you!
very cool bed solution for a small space. i like it!
Glad you like it!
Nice job you two! Looks really good, and nice that it hides away to give your more space. Cheers, Mike.
Thanks 👍
Great job Bryan 👏,
I think the barn wood looks good.
Thanks 👍
👍 Nice to be able to buy one already prefabbed with all the hardware and design taken care of, not an easy job at all. Looks really good, nice job.
Yes that saved a ton of time, but even so, it was a tricky build, getting everything level/plumb so that the hardware worked properly and clearance on all sides fit well.
Looks good.
Thanks!
Looks good!
Thanks!
Nice ... :)
Thanks 🙂
The bottom of that bed was crying out to be decorated with book spines - either printed or real, with a strip of your barn-wood between the rows of book spines to look like the edge of shelves - instant (fake) library! Simples!!!
sounds like a lot of work and a lot of weight lol. We love this look better!
@@ColoradoMountainLiving Well, it would actually be a lot less weight!
Brian, I'd like to know the make and model of your nailer and whether or not you like it.
Sure, it's a Porter Cable BN200SB32. (small brad nailer) but it can accomodate 1 inch and a few other sizes. I have a few different sizes of nailers, but this is good for the small jobs
I'm going to guess they want plywood to give it the most rigidity
That's probably right
Did your daughter not stay there ? I thought she moved back home and basement was going to be where slept ??
You are correct. She does stay here occasionally. But you know young people- always at their friends and not home much.
