I can relate this to one of my former jobs: mad atmosphere, glass(shit) in the grass, suspicious interest in my career, being stabeed in the back many times.
Bring back your old band we miss Gary Day and Alain Whyte. Alains backing vocals are needed in this song and his erie guitar playing was awesome. He suited and compliemented morrissey songs better. Bring back Alain!!
Why Don't You Find Out for Yourself Morrissey The sanest days are mad Why don't you find out for yourself? Then you'll see the price Very closely Some men here They have a special interest In your career They want to help you to grow And then siphon all your dough Why don't you find out for yourself? Then you'll see the glass Hidden in the grass You'll never believe me, so Why don't you find out for yourself? Sick down to my heart That's just the way it goes Some men here They know the full extent of Your distress They kneel and pray And they say Long may it last Why don't you find out for yourself? Then you'll see the glass Hidden in the grass Bad scenes come and go For which you must allow Sick down to my heart That's just the way it goes Don't rake up my mistakes I know exactly what they are And what do you do? Well you just sit there I've been stabbed in the back So many many times I don't have any skin But that's just the way it goes Songwriters: Alain Whyte / Steven Morrissey
What the hell is that weird keyboard noise going on that starts at 3 minutes 19 seconds. It's not coming from the guy playing the accordion because he's busy playing the accordion
@nunzioforpresident Please, don't insult me. I'm an 18 year old girl and I hate the killers. Moz has been my Jesus since birth. Some of us have better taste.... :)
Nah, the reason why it doesnt dound the same is Mozzie's age. Muscles get weaker over time and that includes his lovely vocal chords. Very sad, but I dont regret seeing him at Coachella. (Even though he complained alot...) :/
@xarsshtey6 morrissey is 51 years old and still going strong, but constant singing does take its toll, that's why he's out of breath, how is it a 'shit version' sorry I disagree, this is one of the most beautiful of songs, and it will always be sung perfectly by morrissey
Um this song is so immensely underrated its crazy.....
Agreed.
It's my favorite of his solo songs.
A lyricist beyond any other.....so many songs to decipher.....thanks Moz.
Flirri Me too!
Underrated by whom?
"The sanest days are mad..." - great line!
Just listened this song.
Has that happy-sad-tenderness of a sunday afternoon.
Alone.
I really like the accordion in this version
This Morrissey at his most honest.
Incredible song full of amazing lyrics, morrissey is utter brilliance
By Far one of my Favez!!!!!!! 1994 LA

Best song of all time

What a cracking version
I Love!
"Vauxhall and I" (1994)
oh boy his so old now :.( I love him so much..
Very nice version
can there be a more under-appreciated song?
Underappreciated by whom? How do you come to such a conclusion? Comments like this make no sense.
“Then you’ll see the glass hidden in the grass…” I wish he would have said “bad seeds come and go…”
The accordion replacing Alain's back up vocal...hmmm
top man
@joeymozzer Haha, that's a good one. I also make my own variatons on Morrissey's songs sometimes. Good to see I'm not alone.
@atlasdguad77 If you check the liner notes, Alain still writes all the albums with Boz, i think he just stopped touring at some point.
Did Morrisey ever record this song?
the moz is back
you missed it, but just before this starts he did a few backflips and a round off
@marcol68: You´re right!
This one over here wasn´t his best trilling !
i was just sayin' kinda "THE MOZ IS IN THA HOUSE"
@fraja02 Are you mad? It's from Vauxhall and I
What the hell is that weird keyboard noise going on that starts at 3 minutes 19 seconds. It's not coming from the guy playing the accordion because he's busy playing the accordion
I just watched it again I think that's coming from the guitar player
In which Album can i find this song???
What do you do?

Only if you have a tickle stick
Anyone know when God is going on tour again?
Love this!
My son died l.
Please...
He's having some problems singing this one, for some reason.
Yes it seems to be in an awkward key. Not being musical I don't know it tho.
David Stewart Your face is in an awkward key.
Hi
Half step down
Im sorry but the version on "intruducing morrissey" was the best! even better than vauxhaul and I.
Electric guitar kind of ruins the whole thing for me.
such a good song but unfortunately sounded a bit of a shambles
The Killers version is soooooo much better!!
The Killers ROCK!!
Cathal White the killers are not fit to clean Morrissey's mic
🤣
