This show steals your heart, truly. It's one of those shows where, if you try to explain the premise to someone, they look at you so quizzically. And I understand, because on paper this doesn't sound like a popular musical in the making. And yet, it's single-handedly one of the most beautiful stories about love, empathy, compassion and grief. I can't wait until the day I can sit in the audience once again.

Everyone needs to see Come From Away, especially right now.

My partner and I went to London in December and went to see four musicals. Come From Away was the only one we didn’t really know much about, and hadn’t listened to the soundtrack for. It ended up being our favourite, and we left filled with so much joy. Everyone needs to see it. For now the soundtrack is uplifting me in the COVID era

I get goosebumps every time I listen to me and the sky, especially the part where Beverley sings about the bomb. This musical is amazing. More people need to know it!

I was blessed to be invited by one of the producers of the show to join a group of his friends to see it during NYC World Pride in 2019. I never met him until that weekend, but because our choirs were in the same concert that week, he wanted to extend the invitation for brunch and broadway. We also got to take a family photo on stage with a few of the actors, who were so lovely. It’s probably the closest I can say to a dream coming true in my adult life.
What sticks with me is two things:
    1) being hit in the gut emotionally when Hannah calls Beulah and says “He’s gone, it’s over” even after listening to the sound track for over a year
    2) how much I now live by the One line in Welcome To The Rock: “A candle’s in the window and the kettle’s always on.” After seeing the show, you realize how simple that sentiment is, but how impactful it is on the world.

I normally dont cry at films, but I teared up reading all the thank yous during me and the sky. Thank you for doing this and acknowledging the kindness of others both then and now- I guess I needed that reminder

Come from away is defo my favourite musical! I was lucky enough to see Rachel tucker, and was meant to be seeing Alice but it got cancelled. Both versions of me and the sky are incredible, and bring a tear to my eye💗

I love the show more than words can express. It compelled me to travel to see Toronto and Broadway casts...and cross Newfoundland off my bucket list. Newfoundland during iceberg season is still on my bucket list.
Most Gander natives I talked to put the emphasis on the last syllables of both Newfoundland and Labrador.

The people seriously feel like my friends now. It's so crazy how that happens, you watch something and you end up feeling so connected to the characters. Especially because it's based on a true story, too.

The video should have a kleenex warning (not just the show!). Mum and I were in London for the Canada Day celebrations last year. The cast were so welcoming and lovely when we came. We got to hang out and felt like we were part of the gang - we were so welcome.
"As they boarded it started to rain" Yep that's the one! and the bible moment - I even told my friends at church about that bit.

I wonder if the cast from COME FROM AWAY would consider recording a version of ME & THE SKY to encourage people to come back to the theatres once they reopen, and call it ME & THE STAGE!

This actually explains a lot. The West End cast sounds super Irish when they attempt a Newfoundland accent. Turns out some of them are using their own. Hopefully they worked on that in rehearsals before reopening.

The morning of 9/11 i was standing on a picket line in Ottawa as a management representative Negotiating with the union on strike to allow my 50 search and rescue specialists into the building and to their positions as coordinating and backing up the staff that were monitoring the in coming jets in Gander. it took me almost 30 minutes of face-to-face negotiation until I broke off and lead my 50 search and rescue experts to enter the building through the tax court I think that there could be a small part and ask that Danny Devito play me.

Why didn’t Alice just film herself recording “Me and the Sky” with her microphone? Personally, I think that would look cooler than the lip-syncing sat at the piano.
