    As a Newfie I gotta say these accents make me laugh… HOWEVER… we are so happy they are finally sharing this story throughout the world especially in musical format.. my family took in another family during 9/11 and they became our extended family.. every year they fly back to Newfoundland for our thanksgiving and we spend the holiday weekend together. 9/11 was a horrific event, but it gave me three more amazing family members as a result. We love you Henderson Family!

      The Documentary-sort of style really helps to draw people in to how real it all was
      because... well... it was real. it happened.

      I feel the same when I see Billy Elliot, as a native of Tyne and Wear I always feel myself judging all the north east accents 😅 they’re often inconsistent

      @@linnmoonlock5251 Worst thing is, they supposedly had a dialect coach. To me, as a born and bred Newfoundlander, it just sounds like a god-awful attempt at an Irish accent. I don't know if they thought we just sounded Irish or what. lol

    The opening number of Come From Away gives me goosebumps literally every time I hear it. Can't watch these videos in public cause I start shamelessly sobbing.

    Wow, wow, wow! God, I fucking love this show. Alice is such a queen. What an outstanding performance by her and the rest of the company. Can we also just appreciate how we have THREE former Elphabas leading as Beverley right now?! Willemijn, Rachel, and Alice - come on! The world is not ready. 😍

    It is interesting that in England they can say "Slow the fuck down" on both West End Live and the Olivier awards but Apple TV bleeped the word fuck. I just don't understand why Apple TV had to do that.

    • @kl-1447
      @kl-1447 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't know the exactly reason, but here's why/how they usually bleep/censor things. The usual standard is 3 fucks and then it's an R rating. (I don't know if Apple tv uses traditional ratings?) So they usually limit it to 1 and get by with a PG13, and they can drop a few other lesser curses (shit, damn, etc). A good example would be the Hamilton proshot only having 1 fuck but allowed to keep the other swearing. The rating affects the way they market as well. Apple TV might have wanted to market Come From Away as a thing for families, so a lot of swearing would be cut. It's way easier to market with clean/cleanish language because it means that it doesn't get automatically filtered out and can pop up more often, thus more people likely to watch it. For TV, I think they might be trying to keep the program as a whole more "family friendly", like how CMA (Broadway) censored themselves at the Tony performance because the Tony's air at 8, so it's still earlier that they can't get away with swearing as much. Since this is a stage performance it's easier to allow swearing.

      @@kl-1447 I saw it on Broadway a month ago...they say all of it live...

    • @kl-1447
      @kl-1447 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jimgriffin96 No, I know that. The stage production can curse, that's fine, there aren't any restrictions on that. But the filmed version is in many ways a movie on a streaming service, so it's held to different standards regarding swears.

    Mega Yaaaawwn ! And thats just to start ! The tragedy and horror of this date should not be sidelined by a vulgar, self absorbed journey through some kind of academic disneyland.... Whoever uploads this piece has shut off comments.. for most of the adverts for it.. This date should never be about the shortage of matter for a new musical... This is no less distasteful than creating a musical about some american states police attitude towards coloured people.. Oh ! No , please don't tell me that is next ?
    9/11, is a date to remind us yet again !!! That extremism should be driven from this planet. And not wait until the scars start to heal before you make it into a sing song.... Imagine suggesting this to new yorkers 2 weeks after the day.. The very thought of it would be horrendous.. You cannot creep your way around extracting instances of hugs and handshakes to celebrate anything other than the innocent deaths.

      Tell me you've never seen the show without telling me you've never seen the show.
      I bet if you went to a New Yorker on September 25th, 2001 and told them that there was gonna be a musical showcasing the hospitality of the Canadians who took care of your loved ones who were stuck in a different country, they might be confused that it's a musical, but it wouldn't be horrendous because it's not a story about the terrorist attacks. It's a story about the wonderful community of Gander and Newfoundland.
