The way Rivers is slightly transparent makes it look like he's exiting a blue fog from behind Matt with a knife behind his back ready to make an open spot for Mikey
It looks like a duo band with one member rerecording the album after his band mate sadly and tragically passed away in November of last year after a long battle with a fatal accident with a unicycle.
@Apathy&Exhaustion I used to listen to Pinkerton every single night from 2nd grade to middle school. It was my night time CD. I have listened to all of Pinkerton more times than a lot of people. Matt sounds like he learned bass just to record the album. Which he did do for Blue.
@@Admiral_Mikey you missed the point of the comment, they just mean that although they thought they sounded off-pitch when singing along they now realize that this is exactly how its supposed to sound
@@Admiral_Mikey he’s extremely pitchy all over the track but as we’ve learned over the years, this is an integral component to the Weezer sound and is done quite purposefully. @@residentkrockhead what about what I said makes you think I was disagreeing with him? My point is sloppy playing on an amazing song is less of a problem than perfect playing on a shitty one
I noticed several comments noting how sad this made people feel. It makes me sad because Matt was such a huge part of their sound IMO. Their music has lost an important fun , playful and musical dimension since Pinkerton IMO. Matt is greatly missed and always will be. Luckily we still have those great albums to listen to. In a similar way, listen to Nirvana Bleach and then to Nevermind and realize although the music and singing sounds similar, Dave Grohl's drumming on Nevermind adds another dimension with his playing and background singing which was never there.

Is like Scott surely has the talent, but Matt also has creativity and could say to Rivers that one of his ideas was lame and guide the composition to a better place along with him, and thats something that was truly missed on the albums that came after 96
@@lucasreboucas8123 The Blue and Pinkerton home demos are recorded wholly by Rivers and Matt had nothing to do with them. Their sound changed after Pinkerton due to a conscious decision at the time by Rivers to move away from the Pinkerton sound. Yeah sure since then their discography's been spotty but that's 100% due to a bad selective process where, from a hundred or so songs Rivers writes each album cycle they pick out the safer ones, or a song gets overcooked etc. But he has written literally hundreds of great pinkerton-tier songs since 96'. Rivers released about 70 hours' worth of demos last November, as an example listen to the unreleased album "Ecce Homo (version 11)", it's on YT.
