I realize the target market for this are tech savvy hipsters, but this would actually be amazing for my elderly parents who can use an iPhone / iPad but never learned how to type properly so it’s always so slow for them to do anything with text input. They do on occasion use voice to text, but it’s still a slog of of tapping a form box, tapping the mic button, recording a voice, checking if it is correct, deleting it and starting over it it’s wrong, etc. this takes forever - just watching them do this process makes me exhausted. This would be great to get to the answer quickly and make GPTs accessible to them.
If it was more reliable I could certainly see that use case. But right now it's just not dependable, even for simple things like the voice recordings. Failed on me multiple times.
See, what I don't get is the following: if I have to scroll through the menu when ordering something, and the menu is just a fraction of what they actually offer, how is this convenient? I can do the same on my phone, but there it works.
I’ve seen several “reviews” so far but nothing about the “teach” mode. Why is no one trying to teach it how to do things first? I’m crazy confused. The teach mode was the entire reason I bought it. Is that no longer a thing?
I had to throw a SIM card in mine in order to get the time to update as a work around. Tello is the cheapest option for this device if anyone doesn’t want to wait for the update. If you use your phone’s SIM card you will have to call your mobile provider after to have them re sync your phone to SIM card again.
I really wished it would set a timer or alarm or a reminder. At least I could use that feature. I spent an hour playing with it. It doesn’t do anything like that. No timers or stopwatches or reminders
This man has the patience of a saint. The third time it would tell me an app is t available AND it takes a while to load on that joke of an OS that rabbit would end up in 10000 tiny orange shards. Utter Crapwear. I’d choose a flagship phone from 7 years ago over this.
@@wnllkmusic It feels unnatural; Natural scrolling on macOS makes sense because when you drag your fingers up on the touchpad the page moves as if you were actually touching the screen, right? I feel the wheel should behave the same: if you go from down to up with your thumb, shouldn't the page scroll as if you were moving the screen? At 5:09 Stephen intuitively goes upwards on the wheel but it works the opposite way I have my mouse set up like that on macOS, whereas the touchpad uses natural scrolling
Honestly, the Ai Pin, although much more expense, may be a more useful tool. It can be worn, still has a camera to describe what it sees, and with some software updates the battery life may get better too.

@@beardfm Sure. But your still comparing a voice device to a smartphone. I work with people who can't possibly use a smartphone but a device with a single button and a scroll wheel that can do vastly more than any other previous usable device is life changing. It's designed for a far broader user base than a smartphone and should be reviewed in its context. For millions a smartphone is a terribly designed device, don't matter what brand or how good it's 'Elder mode' might be. A single button and a scroll wheel.... I work in a State with 49% functionally illiterate adult population and the ever increasingly complex UI of smartphones is a barrier for them. AI voice devices are not.

It’s like the we are in a different Earth where the smartphone has yet to be invented and this is the best we get
yes! this is pointless
@@dennistetrault9832 yet the people scammed feel the urge to defend it smh
I’ve seen several “reviews” so far but nothing about the “teach” mode. Why is no one trying to teach it how to do things first? I’m crazy confused. The teach mode was the entire reason I bought it. Is that no longer a thing?
Teach mode isn't available yes, Rabbit says it's "in development" but may not even come this summer.
I had to throw a SIM card in mine in order to get the time to update as a work around. Tello is the cheapest option for this device if anyone doesn’t want to wait for the update. If you use your phone’s SIM card you will have to call your mobile provider after to have them re sync your phone to SIM card again.
Yeah Rabbit said an OTA update should be coming this week to fix it too.
I order it not because it is cutting edge but because I like llm and Ai it's cheap for what it is. The first human pokedex 🔥👌
If you're looking for handheld LLM, def recommend this over the Pin for cost.
Can it makes calls now and send text
HOW MANY dollars for a shaken espresso?!
My iPhone does every single thing this does I don’t see the use for it
fr
I really wished it would set a timer or alarm or a reminder. At least I could use that feature. I spent an hour playing with it. It doesn’t do anything like that. No timers or stopwatches or reminders
It's pretty lacking tbh
Bruv what’s that wall paper on the Mac 😮
Here! renzssadiwa.gumroad.com/l/xhvpsh
Is it possible to make voice calls.....
No one clarifies this question...
No, it's not.
That is too bad with plants... because there are apps for plant identification that are pretty spot on.
Seek is a great one!
Man, that is disappointing. Appreciate the positive attitude with all those failures.
Wanted to love it! Just doesn't work with the LAM stuff
where did you get the shirt lol
atp.fm podcast!
This is great for people that are blind.
You just saved me $200.
Haha we’ll see how it is after some updates but right now 😬
Hey thanks for committing to this. you've earned my subscription
Appreciate that! And the subscription 🙏🏻
This man has the patience of a saint. The third time it would tell me an app is t available AND it takes a while to load on that joke of an OS that rabbit would end up in 10000 tiny orange shards.
Utter Crapwear. I’d choose a flagship phone from 7 years ago over this.
It was rough for sure, but had to do it for science!
You can find images you capture in the Rabbit Hole Journal and then download and save them
How do you capture an image? Every time it says it can't do that.
You won’t find the image on your R1, but if you set up an account in the Rabbit Hole, any images will be saved in your journal
They should have made the scroll wheel support clicking as well.
Honestly it would have been a huge positive for it to click.
Mine just arrived. 2 out of 10, almost worthless IMHO at this time.
It’s bad
This is a glimpse to how the future Apple Watch might function :)
Very true!
This would be amazing for blind people. Seriously, it could be a game changer for them.
Accessibility is a huge opportunity for devices like these for sure.
who writes a spread sheet on a piece of paper???
I was a little surprised at that demo but Rabbit highlighted it too so 🤷🏻♂️
is it just me that feels the wheel scrolls the wrong way?
if you're a windows user yes, if a mac its the right way
@@wnllkmusic It feels unnatural; Natural scrolling on macOS makes sense because when you drag your fingers up on the touchpad the page moves as if you were actually touching the screen, right?
I feel the wheel should behave the same: if you go from down to up with your thumb, shouldn't the page scroll as if you were moving the screen?
At 5:09 Stephen intuitively goes upwards on the wheel but it works the opposite way
I have my mouse set up like that on macOS, whereas the touchpad uses natural scrolling
@@martinowong ah that's what you meant; yeah i guess its more of a personal prefference
It did feel strange
hey! what,s up doc? R1 Rabbit played your purchase like Elmer Fudd hunting for Bugs Bunny! Get a refund for their slow Siri like AI.
I’m blind, debating in getting this or not :-)
Honestly, the Ai Pin, although much more expense, may be a more useful tool. It can be worn, still has a camera to describe what it sees, and with some software updates the battery life may get better too.
@@beardfm very true, but reviews really puts me off maybe the matter Ray bands is another option
Wow, it looks like a lot that has to be fixed.
Truth
Well I’m French and I struggled to understand what you said!
O sea, es un modelo de ia online muy potente de un solo pago, empaquetado en hardware, me parece mejor que pagar una suscripción. Si siguen ese rumbo quizá consigan mantenerse en pie cuando todos los asistentes virtuales se vuelvan de pago.
Why even release the order food feature. Focus on polishing the rest and avoiding hallucinations
Agreed. Reviews would have been different if the advertised features actually...worked.
This is very helpful for blind people
Would love to know how it's been in everyday use!
I wonder what "under maintenance" means, maybe its UNDER MAINTENANCE!
Like Florida highways, permanently under maintenance.
What happened when you tried the spreadsheet test on Siri?
You did try that right? ;-)
Fair enough, it can't do that right now! We'll see come iOS 18 😏
AI voice devices are not.
yeah... this doesn't look much better than the AI Pin overall currently. Of course it's also not as expensive.
True, will see how the updates come over the next few months
Saw a comment saying that this is very kid-friendly. And at $200, it seems like a very easy gift for children to explore the world using AI.
I kinda love this thing. It is a really cute gadget.
"Let's hop to it. Something carroty, perhaps?" 🥺
Very punny
see if it can predict sport outcomes. that will seperate it from the rest
Like...you mean see the future?
@beardfm yeah. Like who may cover a spread between the Boston celtics and the Miami heat
For now, this is most useful if it can translate in real time.
When it comes to translation, the Ai Pin, and iPhone with Action Button are pretty compelling. I show it here: th-cam.com/video/ES9xG6eZFWQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=JMDQzUEL4rSR8eia
Are they using SIRI Voice ?
No, it's their own proprietary voice with ChatGPT and other LLMs in the background.
There is absolutely nothing this device can do, or will be able to do, that could not have been done with a smartphone app. This thing is the OUYAI.
I think it'd be quite useful for people who are blind
Just needs to be more dependable for accessibility or elderly users I think.
I think this vid will crush
Appreciate that, Jacklyn!
By the time they can ship to Australia being year and it will either be 10/10 or defunkt 😂
😬
Je suis français and the twice phrases that you provide were not understandable even for me sorry 😂
Ah SHOOT
The Rabbit takes just a little nap, when its waking up, it will outplay everyone, just fast as a rabbit
