i am not a native English speaker and i am studying math in English. but i cannot understand my teacher weird ass English and her ways of giving lecture and you really enlightened me thank you
Thank you. You make difficult things a lot easier. Students fraternity are being benefited a lot by your lucid way of explanation and clear exposition of harder concepts. You make them a lot easier to digest and interesting what otherwise seems to be so dull and difficult in textbooks.
Shuuuu asbonge TrevTutor your vidoes are really helping. Truly speaking i dont understand my lecturer. Youre a life saver. SALUTE FROM SOUTH AFRICA UNIVERSITY OF LIMPOPO
Why can't professors just explain it like that. I don't care if they're good and research and what not. They shouldn't be at a school if they can't fucking teach for nuts.
I've always wondered, why use a matrix when we could just write down the system of linear equations and then solve for the coefficients x_1, x_2, and x_3 as you did at 6:05? Wouldn't it be more efficient to just write down the equations right away instead of using a row reduction method?
I have similar question and after doing the steps as you did, I got a free variable, what does that mean? that there is infinite many linear transformations thus vector b is in the span? or did I get it wrong?
I don't understand one thing. If a span covers the whole plane, meaning it covers R³ in 4:27, shouldn't the vector b automatically be in the span? My understanding is that in this case it simply doesn't cover the whole plane, but why not? I just don't see it.
Hello, very helpful video, the span of two vectors is a plane. what will be the span of three vectors( will it be volume)? and what will be span of higher combination like four vectors and five vectors??
So, by having "any" two vectors, is it possible to get the whole R^2??? coz, we can do multiplication of any scalars right?? doesn't that mean what I have said??
Since he put the values of b in the augmented matrix, it is then accounted for when you row reduce. The free variables after reducing is what gives you the linear combination of {a1,a2,a3} to make b. :> If b wasn't in the span, there wouldn't be free variables.
I have a question if that's alright. If you say that the vector is in the span of the other vectors are you then saying that they are coplanar ? Thanks for this video b.t.w. I am studying this but not attending class and it's progressing slowly.... Daniel
I'm studying Undergrad math (Linear Algebra) and this is clearing up a lot of things! Thank you :)
I hope you have a vector calculus playlist :D

This was awesome!
I have a Linear Algebra test in four days and your videos are a lifesaver.
i got a test in 4 hours 💀

you're a legend thank you for helping me pass my linear algebra course. much love

Love you man, you are so much better than my dumb head professor, you saved my life

@@fabby4358because they themselves don’t really understand what they’re talking about!
man, cmon you teach a lot better than our professors(namesake phd's). Respect
I wish I could have a professor like you to teach me calculus 3!

Matrices and systems of linear equations represent the exact same thing though.
i actually love you, thank you so much
really great video, this helped me out so much! thank you!!
You are a lifesaver sir! Thank you :)
hello, is the span considered a region in which the vectors are included in?
Your vids are really good. Keep up with good work.
trust me you aee so good at ĺinear algebra awesome God bless you
YES!!!!!!!!

The two vectors should be linearly independent.
how do we know that b is in the span (a1,a2,a3) after we got the values of x1,x2,x3????

nyc....i have understood
could you visually show span in R3 visually.
what is R n where he says it in the beginning
R n is the set of 'n' vectors.
