But in this diagram we are not talking about current, we are talking about voltage and in inductive circuit voltage is ahead and in capacitive circuit voltage is behind , therefore as u can see in the diagram VL is ahead and VC is behind the current I

nope bro it depends on their values if XL is greater than XC then there is XL-Xc and vice versa
