What can someone who is 59 do? Is it over for us? I've gone through complete hell for 12 years and it isn't over! I stay active, Yoga, work etc. Went through the horrible weight gain but seems to have subsided a bit. I an really worried about the future

Hi there! I'm so sorry to hear that you've been through it, but no! Its not over for you!! It sounds like you are doing a lot of the right things by staying active. Have you explored the options for hormone therapy? *please note this is not a substitute for medical advice

@TheSweatyPillow I have looked into it and few times in the past and with the breast cancer scare I never went through with it. Now most things I see online say after 60, you shouldn't. It would be so great if it were still an option for me

Totally understand that! From our research (again, not medical advice), it usually depends on the prescribing doctor. Might be worth asking!

I just started on HRT 2 months ago at 60.5 years old and more than 10 years post-menopause. My doctors are fine with me doing this because I have no pre-existing atherosclerosis or cardiovascular disease, as well as no metabolic disease. My recent Coronary Artery Calcium (CAC) score is zero, Lp(a) is

I'm 66 and have been on HRT for about 12 yrs. I have a uterus and was taking capsules til about two yrs ago when I changed doctors. This new doctor only prescribes creams, but now my hot flashes are back, and my sleep is terrible.. I didn't realize that she only prescribed 25 mg of the progesterone, but the former doctor prescribed 125mg. I have just gone back to my former doctor and he again prescribed the 125 mg. I know that creams are more readily absorbed, but does this sound right? I'm assuming the 25 mg was not a high enough dosage?

Hi! We are not doctors (we just interview them!) so, disclaimer this is not medical advice BUT it might be worth talking to the new doctor about why they choose to only perscribe creams - especially, when it sounds like you were thriving on the capsules. It is you doctor's responsibility to provide you with the care YOU need, not decide that they only like creams if thats not right for you.

I recently started on HRT at 60 years old. I’m on the transdermal Estradiol patch and oral Micronized Progesterone. Initially my patch dose was 0.025 MG but now I’m on the 0.075 MG patch. For my progesterone, I started on 100 MG but went up to 200 MG and am sleeping better on the higher dose.

But what can we do for ourselves since these doctors don't want to do you know women always had a hard time when it come down to man you remember man thought it meant that they're the rulers so what can we do as women to help ourselves if these doctors are not going to leave while I wait another generation let us start taking care of each other now

It's a bitter pill to swallow, but we really need to be as informed as we possibly can so that when we go to the doctor's for help, we can accurately and concisely describe what we are feeling, what we need, and how we expect them to help us.
