This game is all about getting permanents, aka corners and then borders, since if you just take everything, you just get baited, your opponent steals the border, slowly wraps around the field, and slowly jus takes over the board. Even when I first played, without any idea of strategy, getting a piece on the corner before my opponent was my #1 priority; granted I lost to the cpu like a dozen times back then since I didn't know anything else. (I'm also fairly sure kuzuha could have won, if he had dropped one higher 3:11 and just dedicated the rest of the game to shutting down any border shenanigans kanae tries to set up)
Reversi and Othello is the same apparently I like how Kuzuha went from very confident to confused really fast Poor Kuzuha, Kanae is an expert at this xD
It's different if i remember it correctly, layla explain it last week that it is actually different, the whole gameplay is alike but the stone you use is different One have limited stone per player the other have shared stones
@@XLEZZY_REUPLOADS you're explaining Go i think. From what i keep finding, Othello and Reversi are the same, difference being that Othello is whats being played in the video, since apparently othello allows the game to continue even if the one player cannot make a move, while reversi is supposed to end the match if a player is unable to make a move (forced to pass)
Never knew watching othello being played by two dudes with anime avatars can be this fun lol. Thanks for the translation! Also gotta love sore loser kuzuha lmaoo, he went all philosophical there www

Yea and that's super hard to do Since it is very easy to get a piece that cannot be captured like in the corner or by putting your piece into a filled outer line
I laughed like crazy every time Kuzuha spammed non-usable tiles. "ba-dun ba-dun-ba-dun" Especially the first time at 3:34 when he imitated the sound effect lol
Yeah you let your friend in lead after that you make win move at last, like chess let your queen horse knight piece get taken and checkmate with the rest pieces
i downloaded an othello app and i beat the hardest difficulty the first time but after that i kept losing. now i know what "beginner's luck" really means. kanae is really good at this so it's satisfying to watch unlike when i play jsiafjanvaen
lmao, Kuzuha was actually winning until he became overconfident plus he gave away the corner pieces to Kanae-and once the opponent has the corner pieces, you'll never get it back

basically you need to "sandwich" (vertical, horizontal or diagonal) the other player , so you can flip them to your color. You'll have to pass if this is not possible
No, that's actually one of neutral tactic, though he missed it later on 3:14 , which make he can't take Kanae's piece and by that giving the right top place to Kanae

In Othello you have to cover all 4 sides (no diagonal) of a stone to capture it. In Reversi, you can do diagonal and it only takes two.

Never seen Kanae laugh like that. Love this couple
Kuzuha the philosopher strikes again
I've been watching a lot of Kanae's playthroughs for a while. I think he is a hidden genius.
He is indeed
I need to see more Kanae playing Othello. He seems really good at this
up at this point, he has done perfect games (opponent has no pieces) against Fairys and Hoshikawa
Yea and that's super hard to do
