Before commenters swarm here and twisted Kanae's statement; first of all, the translations might cause confusions to some people. Kanae didn't said or implied that being a gachikoi is totally fine at all. If you are Kanae's listener, you should have know that he often mention to his listeners to live their lives for the sake of their well-being and not for him as he should not be his listeners' goal in life. He often thanks his listeners for supporting him throughout his whole career but he can't return that kind of love that they want from him because he's just a VTuber. Kanae's not scared and always tell his thoughts to his listeners especially when he notice something's not right. He stated IN GENERAL that love doesn't always have to be a two-way street, that being in love gains positive output without expecting to receive something in return. Again, he's not just talking about gachikoi here but IN GENERAL on this part. About gachikoi: He thinks that if being in love as a gachikoi will benefit someone positively and is not harmful to people around them, particularly the idol or VTuber that the gachikoi being in love at, then it's worth it for them in Kanae's opinion. He even believes that these gachikoi will find someone better, one who will reciprocate their love instead. And like what he also said, if being in love as a gachikoi makes them feel depressed everyday (worst case scenario, feeling like doing things outside morality because of their blinded love for someone), then they should stop or should not do it at all. Yes, there are sasaeng in KPOP industry and creepy gachikoi in J-industry that are very disturbing but a big fraction of gachikoi also in the same industries are level-headed and know their boundaries. For example, ME and the amount I spent to support my idols as a way of thanking them (very guilty as charge, I'm now wiser on my money). I love my idol romantically but I don't stalk them or invade their privacy because I respect them. If you love someone, you should respect them. You can actually be a gachikoi in an healthy way. And if you encounter someone a gachikoi in an unhealthy way, try offer your help to them. They might need someone to talk to.

Bruh whut, tbh I rlly don't agree with this one sorry... Kanae-san, even if what you said makes sense, it still doesn't seem right because people had to live their lives and all as theirselves. Like for example that a gachikoi might've had a chance to be with someone who actually loves them back but they have been restrained by their "love" on their oshi and all.... You know what I mean? Also with the tendancies of gachikois would resort to crimes like stalking and all is not good if they think they have a chance with their oshis (tbh idk why they do that.... I don't quite agree with him. Falling too deeply in love with someone you have never met , seen or talk to is very dangerous. They already have some kind of expectation and image made up by themselves in their head and if you love someone to that point you want more and more there is a very high chance that they might even have obessesive and even stalkeries tendencies realistically is what I would say.
