it's decent, i wouldn't say amazing. I like the song.
I always interpreted the verse “In the back of my mind, you died, and I didn’t even cry, no not a single tear” as in D4VD created a scenario in his head where she died and he was so full of rage, hurt, sadness, and that he was so numb to the point where he didn’t cry over her. The same thing with the similar verse “in the back of my mind, I killed you”. I always thought that verse was to represent the anger and hate D4VD had felt.
It's literally how i see it, i started listening to this song the day my cat died and it really broke me. I guess in the back of my mind i really knew my cat was dying, so it felt like i killed him in my head. And in my life never have i felt something ugly when it came to him but once he died i did feel a bit of hate, like how could he leave me when he was the only thing keeping me alive
I associated it with my mom during her addiction. “In the back of my mind, you died, and I didn’t even cry” to me just meant mostly, I’m tired of waiting and hoping for the “getting better” and the person she was is dead now. I couldn’t cry anymore because I had lost hope for her recovery years before. 😕 it is sad but there’s so many scenarios I think that could play into those lyrics.
I’ve been Trying to write a song. And this comment just gave me the idea to make it about hatred, so thank you 🙏🙏

And the I didn’t even regret it part was like him trying to convince himself that he doesn’t care when he still deeply loves her. The same for the rest of the song. I thought he was speaking the opposite of how he felt 😂

For my part (it's a little different case), these lyrics remind me of what I'm going through right now with my boyfriend. I think we're losing each other more and more, and to complicate things I'm slowly losing my feelings for him and I'm starting to love another one and I'm so angry at myself for not being able to control my emotions. Our relationship is slowly dying and I can't figure out how to improve this while taking the other boy into account.

I got a new friend later, and some more, and now I don’t cry at all, and I as well killed her in the back of my mind, but for all of you loosing hope in your friends, or somebody else, and they don’t like you, or return the same amount of love, or whatever you’ve given them, they aren’t worth your time or love, there’s always somebody else who wants to give you love, and be your friend, it may take time to find them, but they are out there, somewhere.
