I love you girls's way of teaching and technique, I've strugling with my inglish accent and pronunciaton , I took ESL cleasses for few years ,I speak fluent inglish for the last 18 years but I notice somthing is not quite right in my speaking I'm trying very hard to inprube my inglish and I found your video very interesting ,simple and fun I wish I would've seen your video 18 years ago . I love your video Thank you..
I've just subscribed in your channel last night, I really enjoy watching your lessons, Stretch syllable, and the English rhythm it doesn't easier to native Portugues speaker, however, I wanna feel it out, I can get by it.
I really love your classes. I am currently teaching English to some friend that need it for their university and I find your explanation really useful since I learned with practice but not theory. If I may ask for something or make a suggestion: I would really appreciate if you linked the other videos you mention, I can look for them but it would make my studying faster if you linked them. Thanks and keep up the good job!
I have one question! Why do not 'what' have stress in this sentence ' what's your favourite food?'... you said at the beginning of the video question words are content words, but at 14:06, What does not have any stress? if you do not mind, could you clarify for me? Thank you!
Thank you for this video girls. It’s gonna help me immensely improve my intonation in English when I speak. Intonation has been a topic of English that has been pretty difficult to master. But thanks to you, I am getting closer to smooth fluency. I will keep watching your videos.
What is your opinion about the exceptions to this rule?. Because there are many tendencies where the function words can be stressed in a sentence. like contrast, new information, adverbial in final position, etc. I think that tey are ridiculous rules because it always depends of the speaker context, it can alwas can vary. Im studing Phonetics and dont find the sense to these rules.
English has many exceptions, unfortunately. This is true for both grammar and pronunciation rules, but it doesn't mean the rules aren't useful. But if you don't find them helpful, ignore them! 😉
@@ExtraEnglishPractice regretably , I can't choose, I have to pass the exam haha! But as I said is for me is very subjective. Anyway, thanks for reply.
This is very useful. Thank you. What happens when we have three content words in a row? For example: “I DON’T KNOW WHAT you’re saying.” Do we have to select the most important one(s) based on the context? Thank you! 🤓
Yes, you could focus on the most important one. We also often blend words together (link words). In your example, we'd likely say: I dunno what you're saying."
Thank you for your kindness explain this lesson. This is very helpful btw if I wanna say noun phrase example: beautiful girl, Should I stress the both of them?
They are reading what is written in some standard books, I can say that if anybody can hear what they just can speak like them. one more secret I just wanna tell all the learners from my experience, these all classes are made up before videos are not available to the students so having that in mind, these lessons were made up and these are not at all required to become a fluent speaker. Just touch with language by watching Native speakers and use their dialogues as often as possible as chunks. Within 12 weeks, you would be a fluent speaker. All the best
what a great lesson. how didn't I know about your channel before? tomorrow I have quiz in rhythm actually I learn a lot with fun from you thank you very much
Hello. I am trying to pronounce the word TO but I am trying to find some of the reasons why Americans pronounce TO with a clear vowel sometimes (especially when it must be reduced and it is not at the end of a phrase and you are not pacing stopping for thinking of the next word or using it as a single word or talking about that word) instead of a schwa vowel, for example, I AM GOING "TO" REPEAT IT. Is it clear to emphatize the verb TO REPEAT or just a pronunciation or a colloquial speech shift with friends?????????
There is such a wide range of pronunciations for any sound or feature depending on an equally wide range of variables. Who is the person speaking to? What is the intent of the statement? What is his/her emotional state? Typically "going to" is reduced to "gonna", so if "going" is stated clearly, it is not completely surprising that the "to" is also unreduced in this case.
Oh Thank you so much. This video is great!!! I wish you can make more sentences like this ones in an other video so we can practice a little bit more..
Dear Mrs. I am a sophomore. I was looking for a video for a big assignment of mine in class. And I stumbled across your video. It's really cool and the way you convey your knowledge to people is really amazing. This is exactly the video I was looking for. So I am writing this comment to ask you if I can use this video to use in my schoolwork. It is purely for my learning purposes. Thank you very much.
Thanks for the feedback. We are continuing to develop our technical skills, including audio production. We do all the production ourselves, and we're still beginners.
@@ExtraEnglishPractice Thanks for reply. Its a Google information. English is a stress-timed language. That means some syllables will be longer, and some will be shorter. Many languages, however, are syllable-timed, which means each syllable has the same length.

Yes, we do that, too, sometimes.

do you recommend me any book about that topic?
