I'm one ride into my new KX450! I'm really enjoying it so far. I do need to upgrade the fork springs for my weight though. I bottomed out a few times. I was really happy lugging third gear through corners and having plenty of power to clear jumps from there
I broke my back riding motocross 5 years ago and haven't ridden since that day. I was on a Kawasaki kxf 450. I've been missing MX so much and I'm thinking about getting one this autumn. The 450 back then was very aggressive but from what I've read it seems like this is more 350ish? Have you tried different mappings and so on? I'm either getting a 250 or the 450 but a toned down 450 would be optimal. Better reliability and more power but not too much. It must be Kawasaki, once green always green. You ride well, smooth and calculated. Like I did back in the day. 😉
Thanks Alex! If you’re looking for a friendly 450, look no further than the 2024 KX450. The 350 comments do have some validity behind them. I’m coming off a modified 350, and the power difference is not substantial. Power output character is actually quite similar. I have changed the mapping to the CHA24 map, which does increase bottom end and roll on response. If you are looking for more, air box holes and a muffler will go a LONG way
@@anthonymoreno57 sounds great! Just need to save up some cash and do a test run when the new 250 rolls out this fall and decide then. My friend has a 450 brand new and it looks so good
Does it help with 2nd gear engine braking? Thing has major engine braking to the point it can throw you forward if not expecting it. Or maybe I’m in first without knowing. I plan to try it but how do you upload it? Have to write it down? Also Keefer talked of vibration, do you notice this? I haven’t really.@@anthonymoreno57
Just bought mine haven’t had the chance to break it in. Power looks awesome! By any chance did you remove the rubber piece under the battery for more airflow?
Rad! There definitely are some similarities in the power character, but don’t get it twisted. It’s still a 450. I recommend running the CHA24 map. Improved bottom end responsiveness and low end grunt exiting corners.
Yes, it does have some similarities. It’s the most friendly 450 in the field and eggs you on to be more aggressive on the throttle. Don’t get it twisted, it’s still a 450. It’s a muffler, mapping, and a few airbox holes away from being a fire breather.
@@charlesclapper8982 it does strike some similar chords, however it is still a 450. The increased rotating mass and engine inertia is noticeable. The 24 KX450 has a ton of usable power, which is a huge plus for me. At times, it actually leaves me wanting more power.
Thanks Anthony! I actually agree with you, I weigh in at 150lbs and stand only 5’7”. After riding the KX, it’s apparent to me I need to be stronger and tailor the ergonomics/suspension to fit my height and weight.
Appreciate the video, the bike is a fresh start. Handles differently but sure can deliver when you need it to.
Thanks for watching Clay! I totally agree with you. One blip of the throttle on the KX450 sure does deliver haha!

Great bike. I have the 2023 KX450 and love it so much.
I own the 24 also. Congrats. I’m dying to ride to the point I’m watching you ride.
Awesome!! Thank you for the kind words.
KAWASAKI KX 450 LET’S GOOOOOOOOO

Great content, where is the open field located?

That's Fox Raceway located in Pala CA; I live an hour north in Hemet '09 YZ250 2-smoker BRAAAAP!!!
Where’s the secret spot bro 😂. Starting to get into riding
Just bought mine haven’t had the chance to break it in. Power looks awesome! By any chance did you remove the rubber piece under the battery for more airflow?
Hey Jordan! Yes, remove that ASAP. Kawasaki calls it a “weather grommet”. Remove the grommet asap so your bike can breathe 😂
Cool I love the 350sxf but hate ktm so if it's like a 350sxf that's awesome because I love kx

Is it true power is like a 350sxf

5’ 7”
Thank's brother
I don't like ktm handling but the 350sxf power
350 power is hard to beat! So usable, fun, and lively.
@anthonymoreno57
So true I Hurd this bike is alot like the 350sxf

I thought u looked too small to ride a 450, but you Rip.
