    Nice. While off the floor, good time to also do tire rotation.

    Good and useful video! It is recommended to wear work-wear so as not to injure your skin and knees.

    That bottom cover has one bolt on one side that has a slot instead of a hole so that you can leave that bolt on while taking off the last bolt on the opposite side while that slot bolt still holds the cover, then just slide the cover off the slot bolt. Makes it easier and less cumbersome.

    Nice, I got the same car and color for the same reason as you. Next up: install the Versus oil catch can. Nds are direct injection and you WILL want to get a oil catch can if you plan to keep your car for the long run.

      I'll look into that! Thanks for the suggestion. Do you have any issues with the transmission? - 1st and 2nd gears?

    You don't want the oil level in the middle on the dipstick, you want it at the top mark for full.

    The floor jack being in the back isn't going to prevent you from being crushed if the front jack stands fail. I'd have tall wheel stands under the front wheels, just in case.

    Really the only time consuming part is the under tray removal and re-install.

    Hello... I drive an MX 5 NA Miata 1.8L (only when the weather is nice), now 30 years old and has done 160,000 km. What kind of engine oil would you recommend? Thanks, Hardy

    Very informative vid, only thing I would have done differently is change the sump plug copper washer, as you don,t want to fill her up and the sump plug leaks and have to go through it all again. Not a criticism of your excellent job.

    • @juzzyboy26
      @juzzyboy26  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I read that using a copper washer on an aluminum engine block is not idea due to corrosion risk?
      Thoughts?

    Excellent video on your Miata motor oil change. I noticed that you jacked up the entire car on 4 jacks. Can you just raise the front of the Miata with 2 jacks? Or does will that prevent proper motor oil draining?

    • @juzzyboy26
      @juzzyboy26  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! I believe using 4 jacks is ideal to ensure the car is level and the drain hole is positioned at the lowest point.

    Paying 300 bucks for an oil change for a small engine car is insane. I'm in Canada and I wouldn't even pay 300 to have my 6.7 powerstroke oil changed which takes. 13 quarts or 12.5 ish litres.

      the owners manual specifies either A3 or A5. I bought 4L for less than $50, a bargain.

  • @johndogg47
    @johndogg47 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    buy a pair of rhino ramps and you can just drive the car up on the ramp, engage the parking brake/put in gear and block the rear wheels and you don't have to jack up both ends of the car.

    • @juzzyboy26
      @juzzyboy26  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wouldn't you want the car to be level for the oil to drain completely (as much as possible)?

    • @johndogg47
      @johndogg47 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@juzzyboy26 I guess there’s that consideration but some guys on the flyin miata forums say there’s basically no difference in volume maybe 50-100ml.

      don't know about miata, but low cars' bumpers hit the ramps before the tires.

      I just buy whatever is on special as long as it meets the manual specs. If you're taking your car out on track, that'd be a different story.
