    Right on, Seth. Keeping shiny, happy CRX’s on the road. You’ve inspired me to work on my own, take some things apart, clean and restore. It’s the funk of 35 years living in the nooks and crannies of these Japanese racing pods. So worth it tho. Namaste and thank you!!!!

    I wish Restotuner makes more items for 5th gen Civic EG and EJ. I put a zip tie on the stick to hold up the boot to closely line up with the shifter knob.

I'm very interested in your incredible built once it's up for sale. Luv to own it and keep it original to your creation. Keep up the great content and videos 👍🏿

    Great video. I bet you didn't know there is supposed to be a little rubber boot on shift linkage where it meets transaxle. Those didn't hold up very well over time so no surprise it is missing. Not worth the effort trying to even find one probably. You can only do so much in sourcing parts for these old cars.

    You're level of attention to detail is crazy! I had a question, when it comes to 5 speed swaps in these chassis the 2 wires on the transmission for the reverse lights wire up to where exactly? Any insight would be helpful no forum has a good reference

    • @crxseth
      @crxseth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You’ll have to look up the wiring diagram to know exactly which wires, but the harness is located at the automatic shifter mechanism. The reverse switch will have to be wired up to the existing reverse switch wires that go to the auto shifter.

  • @bradleyhawks8689
    @bradleyhawks8689 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Seth, really enjoyed your video. I just purchased a JDM EF8 SiR and was considering doing the same upgrades as you did in this video including the Shift Linkages but wanted to know if you ran into any issues using these USDM parts? Do the USDM and JDM shift linkages, short shifter, bitch pin, and bushings are fully compatible and interchangeable with each other? Also, would you recommend upgrading the shift linkages?

    • @crxseth
      @crxseth  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don’t have any experience with a JDM EF8, but I know d-series and b-series shift linkages are different, as well as the bushing used on the stabilizer bar. Sometimes the u-joint on the linkage wears out but swapping the bushings and checking the pin for tightness helps a lot.

    I've actually watched the whole series on Paramount Plus.
    (spoiler alert)
    It turns out that the car was pulled out of a lake. The "former owner" was Del Sol Mike. CRX Seth's long lost twin brother. He was a detective who secretly sent the car to Seth to rebuild it, and lure the former owner out of hiding to buy the car back - after driving it into a lake to coverup his crime. (They almost catch him, but he catches on at the last minute.) Hopefully they have more episodes with Del Sol Mike in the future.

    • @crxseth

      Going to pressure wash all the red dirt from under there and it should be good to go. I may sand and throw a coat of paint or undercoating on it, depending on if there are any areas that need it.
