As a Floridian (no longer living in FL), it warmed my heart to hear so many boos for our "governor."
For the record, Dr. Larry Brilliant was part of the WHO team in the 70s who helped to eradicate smallpox in the continent of India.
So yeah, I'd say he knows what he's talking about in regards to infectious diseases.

The sad truth is, they went not because they didn't want to waste the tickets, they went just in case there's a change of plans and they get reinvited. Or maybe Obamas see them walking down the streets and would feel bad and put them back on the list. The thing is, even with non refundable flights, airlines are giving credits for future flights if you can't go.

Well (anecdotally), my vaccinated parents have delayed their trip down solely because of the governor's ridiculous handling of Covid. I truly wish we could ban traveling to/from FL and TX, but those governors seem determined to make everyone suffer the consequences of their poor decisions.
