This Kind of NYC Apartment Used To Be Illegal…

  • I Love this NYC Apartment, but I am surprised it is for rent. It has 2 floors, tons of Windows, and a Huge private backyard. This apartment has serious potential in a way most New York City apartments never will have, and its across the street from an amazing bagel spot and a coffee house in one of New York’s Hottest Neighborhoods. Check out this tour of a surprisingly affordable & unique style of NYC apartment that can only be rented out because the owner did serious renovations to it and got it cleared with the City.

    I think it may be illegal because there is no egress out to the street. If there were a fire you could become trapped in the backyard area and firefighters wouldn't be able to reach you. Also, flooding potential may be there no matter how pretty the basement looks. Just something to think about.

    • @MariadeJesusGutierrez
      @MariadeJesusGutierrez 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      If there was a ladder back there, egress is achieved. Also, fireman often travel with ladders. So, if you're not storing chemicals out there, you'd probably make it out.

    Hi Cash, I must preface my comment by saying how Stinkin Cute you are!! I think this apartment is so cool. I love the two levels, the kitchen to me is perfect, and the new bathroom is a definite plus. I thought it was so sweet how the landlord texted you noting the price reduction..lol. The bagel looked so delicious. Therefore, I will not complain about the lack of a bong or liquor store..lol. Cash, I hope you and your family have a wonderful Holiday Season. Is Violet ready for Santa? I am!! Stay safe....huggssssss!!!

    I would use the cellar as bedroom/private cinema and ground floor as kitchen, dinner and home office/living room.

    I like watching your videos because they reinforce my early life decision to work my butt off, save my money and buy a house in the suburbs where I can safely drive my own car to wherever I need to go.

    Those steps upon entering the apartment could lead to many visits to the ER. You figure whoever lives there will get used to that, but visitors?

    Cash, commentary ad coffee ☕ Two concerns, lack of natural lighting and if that back space floods. Hopefully what ever repairs are done to the back area does not add or create a flooding issue.

    The price is okay for Brooklyn. Same meh for the stairs, lack of light, electric stove (we like gas stoves). Patio needs some major cleanup. I probably would put the bigger room downstairs as a bedroom and use the bedroom as an office or den instead since you’ll have visitors for the patio and you don’t want people going thru the bedroom.

      As someone that lives near bedford, there is absolutely nothing wrong with the neighborhood. Judging a book by it's cover.

    Normal for TH-cam, 40% of the way into the video before we actually see the apartment. I love that you cover more than just the apartment like the laundry, neighborhood, etc... Just wish that was after the apartment not before.

    No need to worry about chemicals in your cup. It's the chemicals in the air, food, furniture and clothing you need to watch out for. 🤣

    Yes, Jordan, there is a very big chance you are ingesting dioxin when you heat water in plastic, or expose hot water to the plastic. Dioxin is a chemical by product of the plastic making process. A study was released a few years ago showing how water bottles that either froze or got hot (i.e. Forgetting the water bottle in a hot car in the summer or cold car in the winter.) released dioxin from the plastic into the water.
