I didn't know Mudvayne till I saw them live at Rock am Ring as they filled in for Slipknot (20 years ago). It was so awesome and I really fell in love with his playstyle and variation of techniques. He is one of the best bassists the world has seen so far IMO.

Man, Ryan is in my top 5 best metal bassists ever. And he's such an awesome dude too. The first show I ever saw was back in like 2002? Mudvayne, American Head Charge, Rammstein and Slipknot. On a side not, probably the best line up I've ever been to, but for a first concert, I was lucky. Anyways, waited maybe 3 hours after the show outside the tour buses and wanted an autograph from anyone I could find, the only autograph I got was a couple from Slipknot and Ryan from Mudvayne. I mean he was out there until the last fan was gone signing shit and shooting the breeze about random stuff. Super cool guy and will always love Mudvayne because of that.

Fieldy is a good bassist and he fits in the KoRn sound (which was somewhat lost because of Ray) every player is unique and it wouldn't sound the same if you replace an ORIGINAL member of a band, people will like it or hate it, Fieldy is a great bassist for KoRn's sound because he was there from the beginning, just because someone has better playing abilities doesn't mean they can easily replace the original sound.

He understands what Fieldy actually holds to KoRn. That style is hard to replicate. And not recreating a certain sound is just as difficult as the hardest riff. Equal. Some users don't understand that here.

You can tell Luzier was psyched to play with somebody on his skill level. Fieldy is Fieldy and I love him, but Ryan Martinie is such a monster musician and Ray was feeling that. Would have loved to see Head in this lineup too.

I don't know why anyone would be disappointed in Ryan filling in. Those are some of the best concerts because they're unique. Only the people in that audience on that night get to experience that show. All the others are the same. Like when I saw Soulfly back in the day. They performed Bleed with members of Hed pe and Snot, as well as Max Cavalera's son on stage. It can never again be performed the same way and I feel lucky to have seen it.

I just love the respect. Ryan is a phenomenal musician yet he is so humble and wants to do right by the band. It would be so hard to fill in and try to fit in with another family/bands style on such short notice.

As far as I’m concerned, Ryan is the best bassist in all of metal. The dude is just incredible on the bass and a hell of a performer. Straight up beast. Mudvayne needs to make a comeback.

I just love the respect. Ryan is a phenomenal musician yet he is so humble and wants to do right by the band. It would be so hard to fill in and try to fit in with another family/bands style on such short notice.
It's incredible seeing how a sheer bass genius like him can be so simple, so humble. He is one of the best nu-metal bass player ever - maybe the best - an yet so modest. I'm not quite sure that Korn guys really understood how lucky they were to have such an incredible and talented guy jump in for them. This guy really is my bass idol.
