    Haven't seen a match that close since the 53 handover between Hampton-rockshire and Wilmington. Probably the greatest left over on a 2 for 3 wides with a mid hoop singe, and that treelon was amazing, Moronie really saved it going to the board, then fringed the ring on a right swing... Absolutely stunning match over the hips if you ask me, we won't see another match like that for another 80 years I'd say...!!!

      @@BenEmberley That was the 46 underhand with Pablo the Hoop Singe Haratchi. Definitely another one for the record books. Haratchi was on the second out after 3 wides and no moves on the board, lilly the fat spoon had just stepped in the doors, when Billy the Barrel rolled a narrow hoop singe and pulled off the first ever closed ring fringe I think in the history of Bracken rules. And a little fun fact, Fat Spoon actually cleared 11 major bi flows in a single test month, making him the first to reach and breach the record 9 door sweeps for a tripple hatch swing.... This record still stands today...!!!

    As an Australian that played high-level cricket as a youngster, I'm telling you, this is nothing like real cricket....
    There's no way we would fringe the ring so soon after a traffold. He barely even checked the doors!! Also, you should never finish with a yellow when there are so many reds left on the board. If I tried that in a tied-test match, I would have been sent straight over the wicket to the sight screen with no tea. The silly mid-on wouldn't even need to check my doors. I would have checked them myself from square leg.

    Cricket must always have a prime number of players on the field as opposed to only seven in this game. Considering all their permutations and the factorial of the number of rules in cricket, its complexity and duration of play is exponential. Experiencing light-hearted enjoyment, dare I say fun, is prohibited by the Laws. On the other hand, players who experience concussion or debilitating injuries may be allowed substitution bringing humanity to the game.

    This really applies to all sports. If you don't understand the arbitrary rules you will be confused and won't get it. Now keep in mind I have no idea how cricket works, and I guess I like hockey and soccer but that's due to being Canadian really. Football is really weird as is baseball even though I understand them. Try to understand lacross or god forbid the sweeping one we have in our country as well and you'll be lost.
    People will say that doesn't make sense, but image you know nothing about ANY sport whatsoever, even concepts like goal points in hockey and soccer become really confusing. Passing to people is weird, arbitrary rules and positions etc. Without being fully into it, you won't get it.
    Though... That works not just with sports but everything really.

    • @ccseancc
      @ccseancc 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not really. All the sports you listed are pretty self explanatory.

    • @selfishlyintrigued
      @selfishlyintrigued 10 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No they really aren't.
      You know nothing about sports. Hell the concept and logic of understand and proving the number 1 is between 16 and 106 pages of axioms and proofs, understanding 1 is a massive undertaking, and 0 was not invented until around 500BCE to 200 CE.
      Don't start the whole "THEY ARE EASY TO UNDERSTAND". They are when you are familiar/have played them/understand other sports. It's not an easy concept to understand at all from a basic standpoint.
      Cricket is nearly alien to us, as are a lot of sports so understanding them makes it look silly without knowing it.
      Being used to rules such as 2 goal posts/2 teams is not easy.
      For example hockey. Why aren't they hitting each other with the sticks? Are they fighting? Why are they hitting a black puck around? Why is someone stationed at each net thing? Is this like a free for all? Teams??? What are "teams!?", concept of goals, concept of ice, concept of skating, concept of working together, concept of opposing teams, rules, guidelines, concept of positions, concept of why, concept of fans, concept of an arena, concept of goal point, concept of goal endpoints, concept of timing.
      You can honestly tell me someone dropped on this planet, an alien would understand that automatically? Or for example an animal, or a person from a couple hundred thousand years ago would just understand it?
      That's what is meant by understanding something, and even then I forgot about 1,000 other concepts you'd need to understand. Even understanding what a sport is, a game is, every single thing you'd need to just "get". Cricket is weird because you're not from the country. Hockey is pretty simple to me, baseballs kinda weird but pretty simple as well, as is backetball, soccer, and football is the strangest but still pretty simple. But we are evolutionary marvels who happened to grow up in the right location, time and understanding through learning to just get those concepts.
      I really hope you understand those things are not easy to understand, mocking cricket is kinda weird; same as mocking hockey or any other sport. Though for the record cricket is dumb as shit. Why's it dumb though? I dunno, don't get it.

    • @ccseancc
      @ccseancc 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      JamesCizuz Your explanation of hockey is pretty retarded. How could you think its a free for all when there are team jerseys and the bases of all sports is usually two goals, two teams and a neutral ball. Football is probably the most confusing out of all the sports.

    • @selfishlyintrigued
      @selfishlyintrigued 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      What are jerseys? Those jerseys have different symbols/numbers on them. What are numbers/letters/symbols. What are people. What are hockey sticks. What's a stick. What's a game.
      It's never as simple as you make it out to be. Also yeah it probably it the most confusing just depends how you were raised though.

    • @selfishlyintrigued
      @selfishlyintrigued 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      For that matter I still didn't go far enough. That's not retarded dude; your mind builds a pre requisite list and database of abstract objects, terms and axioms that it inter-compares all the time. The concept of understanding a chair for example requires concepts of sitting, things, material things, weight, texture, reason, legs, an animal to sit in the chair, why, material, chair legs or lack there of, structural integrity, what it's made of(If it's wood, what is wood, etc etc etc, another material brings other problems), movement, a reason to sit, and hell many more things I can't even imagine your brain does on the fly.
      You're honestly going to then sit their and try to say sports are easy? The concept of every aspect of a sport is hugely abstract and requires a vast amount of knowledge, the sport itself is more complex thus much more knowledge and confusion can occur.
      This is basically the old question of platos cave mixed with a bunch of other abstract questions.
      This is science.

    This has more potential. I am thinking of a variation, although commentary here is comedy bold, but add a real commentary from past cricket matches, ideally commentary from someone like Ian. That would make no sense without context. Something like, "Oh, that was so close, this is stunning display of swing," when all that happened is the ball beat the batsman, missing the edge. To most non-crickets, that's often the most "non-happening" event, because it literally is nothing, but is exciting to watch if you understand swing and all that.

    I must say that how those gentleman are dressed is rather dashing. I should very much like to play a few games in that splendid attire, two or three perhaps.

    if baseball seems to entertain some particular part of the world, i dont see why cricket cannot do the same to the rest of the world.

    C'mon guys, Cricket is fun. It's just a game of scrub baseball but inside of 4 bases there's only 2. Short stop is the same as silly man on and a infield home run is 4 pts and and outfield home run is 6 and when the runner runs it's always a game of hotbox.

    Just a note, because I'm feeling helpful: "It's just not cricket" is a pretty commonplace English idiom, which I think it's safe to assume the OP was quoting in jest, rather than disapproval.
