I'll just say this. I spent money on this game and even bought multiple month subscriptions. But now that TV is gone, this game is no different from PGR, Aether Gazer, even WuWa has better combat. The game lost all its charm, so I uninstalled it, and it's highly unlikely I'll ever play another Hoyo game after they betrayed players like me. Currently HSR is the only Hoyo game I play, probably won't play any future ones.
Good bye. Hoyo won't miss you because with you gone Hoyo gets 2 new players to take your place. Face it. TV mode was a failure with the audience they tried to attract. Yes. Exactly. They should just implement the Hollow Zero gimmick in story mode so people would feel engaged in it, rather than feel being labored to it. Like, for example, adding nodes with buff so you can collect those buff to help you beat the enemies in story mode, or secret nodes to collect more dennies/ascend mats

When it ended I was like: Really? Is that it? The games just needs balance, there can be a mix between playstyles, like a hollow with a fully explorable section with many combats, and then a little bit of tv mode to move from one side to another, or they could just use tv mode for depending on wther or not the context need it, but removing it completely is too drastic, and it will kil the game completely. I love hollow zero becuase to me, it's the closest we are to the "peak" of the tv mode, requiring strategy and such, but they made THAT gamemode the weekly one and Shiyu is the other one, which can exhaust the players. I think a quarterly version of hollow zero would be the best way to address it... but yeah, the playerbase who hate the TV mode doesn't notice all of this and only wants the tv mode gone, making it harder for the devs to inprove it to it's perfection. Geez.

Hoyoverse follows the numbers when they make changes. Clearly they saw a big drop off BECAUSE of the tv mode, hence their need to change in quickly. You're in the vocal minority that thinks TV mode is good. I myself and a group of friends quit soley because of the tv mode. It's just not fun. It's a terrible way to tell a story in a game and has 0 immersion. This is my opinion and you may disagree, which many will, but I'm part of the statistic that Hoyoverse needed to cater to quickly (dropping players).

I think Hoyo would have been fine leaving it as a more niche game like tears of themis but genshin and star rail revenue plummeted the patch immediately after ZZZ launched. You can say you like the T.V.s all you want but if the game doesnt make money it dies, even Hoyo is not immune.

Have you ever played SoulWorker? That's how it was there but it was great fun because the story was solid. And it didn't detract from combat because the characters spoke to you during the sequences. It's quite similar to the recent story combat sections, actually, which were pretty good.

No, it's not a good decision. There was this game called FGO, and since the game was released people have been asking for an ult animation skip button (the ult is also called Noble Phantasm). The devs replied with: "Noble Phantasm is a part of Servant's identity. So, there will be no skip button" ZZZ should have pride with their game and tell those whiny players: "TV mode is a part of Proxy identity. We will not remove it" smh

I think you're missing the point. Everyone loves pretty much everything else about the game but the people who like the t.v like the rest of the game and will stick around the people who dont like the t.v. have firmly proven that they will leave the game despite liking everything else. Nah. The Siblings are still the Main character. They are the connective tissue between all the factions in this game anyways. Some factions wont realistically interact with each other outside of happenstance.
I believe the TV system is more of like their way to cut cost. if they remove it it cost them more. but since they made huge profit already, they are willing to put more effort on the game experience. which means in the future when people got tired of playing zzz and profit are not that coming. they probably bring it back to cut cost.
nah, it was made thinking about cell phones, you can't fit so many buttons to have good mobility because it doesn't fit on a cell phone, and the way they found to give a rhythm to the Game was with Puzzle in the form of TVs which thanks to themselves design gives the ability to have multiple variants

You say that since it is a combat game it should focus only on combat, which if you have played other action games you will know that it is stupid, you know what Doom, DMC, What does Hi Fi rush have in common? which are combat games which have slower and louder sections to generate a rhythm, because and clearly you don't know it, a game that only has its combat becomes boring in the short and long term, just look at KH2, it is a game with a hilarious combat that lacks anything else and becomes boring for this very reason. Do you propose that we "have Imagination" but let's be realistic, can something else be done? There are three alternatives, the Puzzles, which were the TVs. Having platform sections seems like a good idea until you realize that ZZZ has very poor movement, you might think, why not include a dobe sato air dash jump etc. Why is it unfeasible, not only would we have to design entire new platform sections but also add new movement mechanics to all the characters and that is extremely expensive. And the exploration....the whole game happens in the hollows which are lore changing and unstable...well as a Persona fan I can say that if the TV seems tedious you are not ready for a "Tartarus"
I’ve maintained an opinion about “TV mode” since launch that the only real mistake with it is that they mostly failed to create immersive environmental storytelling and the ability to feel like a navigator within the mode. Every stage is, “where am I? A sea of black screens.” This one aspect creates a dissonance between the combat and navigation and makes people bored. I for one, want to be able to tell I’m actually in a train station, a construction site, a haunted hotel, and the wastes of a desert. Alongside cute character interactions that feel like they’re breaking into the environment itself. Now there’s always going to be people who go “lol fight fight this supposed to be a combat game fight fight” but still.
Outside of Hollow Zero I ain’t really like it. It just takes too much time away from the story and combat. But with Hollow Zero you’re just picking up a bunch of perks (Resonium right?) and you get to make actual decisions. I don’t like how the puzzles are time consuming but also linear, I’d rather just go straight into combat
I hated that shit so it can stay gone.... The side quest tv missions themselves have made me hate them even more.... How about we just see what is going on instead...

Seeing how so many people complain about the TV system, I think this is an improvement. It's a whatever for me.

Having platform sections seems like a good idea until you realize that ZZZ has very poor movement, you might think, why not include a dobe sato air dash jump etc. Why is it unfeasible, not only would we have to design entire new platform sections but also add new movement mechanics to all the characters and that is extremely expensive. And the exploration....the whole game happens in the hollows which are lore changing and unstable...well as a Persona fan I can say that if the TV seems tedious you are not ready for a "Tartarus"
I’ve maintained an opinion about “TV mode” since launch that the only real mistake with it is that they mostly failed to create immersive environmental storytelling and the ability to feel like a navigator within the mode.
Every stage is, “where am I? A sea of black screens.” This one aspect creates a dissonance between the combat and navigation and makes people bored. I for one, want to be able to tell I’m actually in a train station, a construction site, a haunted hotel, and the wastes of a desert. Alongside cute character interactions that feel like they’re breaking into the environment itself.
Now there’s always going to be people who go “lol fight fight this supposed to be a combat game fight fight” but still.
I'd rather play tv mode than snake... I just can't get into the arcade games at all.
Outside of Hollow Zero I ain’t really like it. It just takes too much time away from the story and combat. But with Hollow Zero you’re just picking up a bunch of perks (Resonium right?) and you get to make actual decisions. I don’t like how the puzzles are time consuming but also linear, I’d rather just go straight into combat
I hated that shit so it can stay gone.... The side quest tv missions themselves have made me hate them even more....
How about we just see what is going on instead...

Yes removing it was a good decision, now they can focus on expanding combat mode.
