The story between Salim and Jason was so good, it perfectly mirrored the prologue characters. Two people from different sides came together to survive. It was refreshing to see and a the best chapter of the Anthology by far!
Glad that supermassive decided to keep working on the Dark Pictures and it seems that finally they might have got it right, but I’m also little afraid that it might be too late for any “larger” financial success. Two previous titles are generally regarded as underwhelming (especially when compared to Until Dawn) and I’m almost certain that reputation will also effect on the sales of this one too.
Uhh Supermassive Games are legally contracted to create eight titles in total for Bandai Namco hence their whole The Dark Pictures Anthology angle even if past titles were disappointing
This ia way better than little hope in terms of storyline and settings, character development and connections, action secquences and pretty much in all aspects tbf
@@daltonhartman4466 It's the best game coming from this studio and it's the perfect visual novel horror experience which can easily compete with higher league studio releases such as the ones from Quantic Dreams... also well written and action packed.. I hope this game would get a higher recognition in time
Am I the only one extremely bothered by the color of the text in this game and how its place without any borders??? How can you read any of that 0:43 fucking kills me
Love it so far. Until Dawn, will be my favorite, but I haven't finished House of Ashes. Thus far, it's kept me captivated. Definitely a great game. Get it, you won't be disappointed.👍
Supermassive just can't catch a good break. Until Dawn (yeah been said to death but it continues to be the example) is still such a great game, while every new iteration from the studio is just rushed not fully fleshed out regarding the characters and story. The premise of Medan & Hope are great, the setup for both were good but as I played through them it just wasn't a fun or intriguing experience. While Until Dawn laid into the teens in a Horror movie trope, with all the cliches...it just worked. It had a really bizarre mystery to try to unravel, often depicted nicely with the various collectibles & secrets found. The pacing and setting really worked for me. I feel not enough time, money or drive have gone into their more recent titles and I'm usually into these interactive games and more forgiving....but there's something missing in these games to really hook me in. It also didn't help that the previous two games defaulted onto the "none of it was real" which is fine to do once (if done well) but neither of those games did it well enough imo. And sadly this title looks to be more of the same in many ways, especially regarding wooden dialogue and characters who don't illicit much interest for....Little Hope was a bit better of the three titles so far. Maybe I'll get this if they ever release a "Full Dark Anthology" set once they're done with it all. Personally I think they need to take more time to deliver another heavy hitter like Until Dawn was... did the people who worked on or helmed UD leave or was it solely being a Playstation exclusive that had them firing on all cylinders?
I heard that the creators of Until Dawn no longer work with Sony, so they don't have as big a budget anymore. They have to be more creative when working on the Dark Anthology games as their resources are more limited
This one is much better than previous two and goes into Lovecraftian horror at the end especially. You just have to try this one out. The ,,none of it was real,, got me real bad in both previous ones but this one is classic sci fi-fantasy horror done right.
As a middle-eastern, I find the constant use of the phrase "both sides of the conflict" for a war in which only one side illegally invaded the other country and committed war crimes and killing hundreds of thousands civilians in the process, a disturbing choice of words.
considering Saddam killed close to 300,000 of his own citizens and did in fact have chemical weapons i.e. weapons of mass destruction(Argue they weren't there all you want. They had ten years to hide, trade and dispose of them. Some were found much later under ruins) which he used on them, there WERE two sides to the conflict.
This game really disappointed me with the horror aspect. Didn’t feel like a horror game but more like and adventure game. Until Dawn is 100x better in my opinion
I can understand that if you like horror. This one is the least horror like for sure, but for me I actually enjoyed it more because it was more action adventure based. Each to their own.
i think the best way to play this is not even look at the game case. seeing the picture of the monster on the back of the case ruined it for me, would have been so much better if you didnt expect a real monster but they straight up show you it on the case and say, 'look your gonna see this later on!'
@@funkmachine9094 how bout no, screw consoles. I'd rather play games on a machine that I can configure the way I want and look way better than a console as well as control better. Not to mention how much more powerful it is.
Some people are just pampered complainers. For only $30 these games are good value, decent replay ability. I enjoyed man of medan alot. Skipped little hope and almost done with house of ashes. Supermassive is doing great, considering pushing these out yearly. Yes they have a template of untildawn but they don't have the backing of money bank Sony anymore. So all things considered, we are getting great content. House of ashes is probably the best of the anthology so far. And if we support them, they have the chance to make better ones in the future.
The sad thing is the Player not play the game just follow the game (like watch video)and time to time you participate if you finish this game I don't thing any one want to play (watch it) again..
Their faces ...xD sorry but just the girl made me laugh hard. That looks the worst episode. The first episode wasn't so bad but very far away to be like Until Dawn. Just the price is repellent
Meh wasn't interesting. Only game I don't like in the The Dark Pictures Anthology series. All of the main characters are so unlikable and unprofessional. No attachment whatsoever.
No its not. Its three steps back for whole Antology. There is no plot twist, there is no mystery, there is also almost no Curator interactions! The plot feels like a generic "Alien" fanfic written by a person that only watches trashy slasher "horrors" that can only scare underage kids. Its fucking space vampires? Man of Medan tried something and it was fine. Little Hope was MINDBLOWING good. And then we have this trashy action-packed "OOGA BOOGA SCARY VAMPIRES" shit. Horrible review. Horrible game.
Proof of WMDs were not really found in Iraq. Some think they were moved into neighboring Syria though, and that’s where the Assad regime got their chemical weapons from.

I just finished this, and it's easily my favourite of the series.

Wow, they really went all out on the "WE WUZ KAAANGZ" meme
Just finished playing it through online with a friend, really enjoyable but nowhere near as jumpy or as scary overall as the first two...
Agreed
Agreed they went to far changing it like this.
In the midway of the game. Dammmm too good.
