Yes. Suzie Q is still performing and will be 71 years old this year. In 2020 she was honored with a "She Rocks" award, and a documentary about her life was due to be released. I'm not sure if that release has happened yet. Suzie Quatro pioneered the way for so many female artists and also influenced many male performers. She appeared 7 times on the tv show "Happy Days" as Leather Tuscadero. She was offered her own spinoff television show, but she turned it down because she wanted to continue pursuing her musical career. A popular band named Tuscadero named themselves in honor of Suzie Q's character on "Happy Days". The band Creedence Clearwater Revival, also known as CCR, wrote a song about her, titled "Suzie Q". I could go on, but this is enough info to understand her influence.
There is also some pretty good video out there of another song from that eta by her called 48 Crash. She was a hard rocker from Detroit and really kind of a Trailblazer for women in rock and yeah she's actually a great bass player and does it while she's singing. For some reason she never hid it all that big in America but they loved her in Europe and other places around the world. Many Americans knew her incidentally however because she would have these Cameo appearances in the extremely popular television show Happy Days. She played leather Tuscadero and would be featured playing briefly or just be in it and of course always wearing leather. I was lucky enough to get into a several weeks long email back and forth with her about 8 years ago so I could tell her how amazing I thought she was.
As a teenage boy Suzi was high of my list of perfect people. This was never a favourite track - "She's in love with you" "Stublin in" or even "Wild One". Ah... Leather Tuscadero and on badass bass player. Perfection.
This is a good example of the more bubblegum aspect of glam rock in the 1970's (not a bad thing). You might want to check out Slade. "I Won't Let It 'Appen Agen" is a good starting point (BTW, Slade intentionally misspelled a lot of words in their titles, so if you picture in your head someone talking in a a Cockney British accent, it helps to understand them better)
Female Friday check out " Nova Rockafeller" her song "gang gang". Or throw back Thursday check out "Heart". Female lead singer, and her sister on guitar. Do "barracuda" from 1977.
RIP SUZI. She just died recently. Suzi was the FIRST female ROCKER. Joan Jett used to be a STAN of Suzi's and used to sleep on the floor in the lobby of the hotels she was staying at. She even got her hair dyed and cut like Suzi's. They had to dye it black so she didn't look so much like Suzi. It is a COMPLETE insult that Joan Jett got into the rock and roll hall of fame and Suzi didn't. Suzi was the ORIGINAL and the BEST. Joan Jett rates a poor second.
QUEEN OF ROCK N ROLL

Haven't listened to Suzi's other songs, but not impressed by this one. Here she just sounds like she's always screaming highy repetitive lyrics.
