I'm driving down to Ensenada soon but have never driven to Mexico before. This video was great! Just getting a view of what to expect makes it a lot more easy to approach.
You did not stop to get your FMM card stamped on the Mexican side when you crossed. I thought you need to fill out one, either online beforehand, or at the border, and get it stamped before you enter Mexico.
@@jibjab144 I've heard very conflicting facts about this. Some say the law has changed and now you do, no matter the duration of your stay. Best to be safe than sorry.
My sister and I are going. She has a passport and I have a real ID. Birth certificate, and an old expired passport. Do you think I could have an issue coming back?
Your supposed to, but they don't check. Now if you get in a accident, you better work it out with the other party. If you can't, you can get thrown in jail.
You can get car insurance but it doesn’t do you any good because the person you get into an accident will threaten great bodily harm and extort you on the spot!!!
Yes. They don't really check but if you get in an accident you could go to jail, regardless of who was at fault. Mexican insurance is very low cost so it's better to just get it.

Great work. Thanks a lot. Cost of living is cheap. Weather is great. Maybe I'll consider staying there long term when I retire.
Wise, meds and dental work are cheaper too.

I have never done that once. What is the FMM card?
You don't need an FMM if you are staying less than 7 days
Letter of the law you need one, but like he stated at the beginning of the video, they really don't give a shit.

@@moonman774 it's a Mexican Tourist Permit, required by law. It's one of those things that aren't checked...until they are. And then you pay a fine.

They used to let you back in with a birth certificate and you ID but now they require you have a valid passport.
Going in 2 weeks this far down for the first time. Never driven this far down from TJ
Do you need Mexican car insurance to take a trip there?
Yes

They don't check for it but it's better to have it just incase. It's pretty cheap regardless.
Hey Mark, do you get Mexican insurance when you go?
Don’t need to but if you have Allstate I believe it’s included in your policy. I always call my agent to ensure me every time I go to baja.
Thank you!!!!
Do you have to pay a TIP to bring the car into Ensenada or that area?
Nope
roads look pretty narrow

Meanwhile I do believe the music is Cuban lol.
It’s advisable to get Mexican auto insurance.
