This is a story and life that is slowly passing us by. Most parents haven’t raised kids this way, every kid today has or wants phones, pads, and video games instead of knives and things outdoor related.
I wonder how many karens are going to blow a gasket for luke with his knife 😂😂 dont chsnge your content unfortunately we as a society are scared to be open about what we do with our kids idno when society started frowning upon kids with firearms an knifes who are safe but its time to chabhe that..pisses me off .i had the police ask to search my sons room because he told his classmates he shoots with dad..Police saidno threats were made but we just want to make sure your safe ..like Wtf ..kick rocks i told them politely im tired of society trying to change how we grew up and i should not have to feel bad for raisin my kids how my parents raised me.. I loved Luke's answer when you asked him if that was a proper knife for an eight year old. "PROBABLY " would have been my answer when I was his age. With those sunglasses on maybe you could nick name your youngest son Cool Hand Luke . but that might just be before your time . Classic Paul Newman movie . He might just like that name .The name " hush puppies comes from back when there were plantations and slaves . They all had kitchens that were not in the main house because it was before there was air conditioning and to keep the house from getting hot in the summer a seperate kitchen was built behind the main house . The servants had to then walk with the food to the main house to serve it , and they fried balls of cornbread to keep the dogs from jumping on them while they carried the food .

I was just wondering what it would take for someone like me to come out and go fishing with you. I'm not a current TH-camr myself, but when I was at my lowest in life, your videos are what pulled me through. I was raised on Chickamauga Lake in Chattanooga, TN and my mom always used an electric knife to clean our fish. Works like a charm.

Flick knives are illegal in the uk as are lock knifes, 3" fixed blade or folding knife is about it lol.
Ketchup is my staple go to with fish, you should try HP Brown sauce. (I think its one vs the other in the UK lol)

Reminds me of 30 years ago up were I'm at. 4 of us caught a 4 person limit of 15 each that all averaged 13 inches. We didn't have electric knives back then though oh that would have been nice.

Didn’t know Crystal has Mennonite heritage in her family. I’m from southeastern Pa. and my grandparents on my mother’s side were Old Order Mennonite. Grammy had some awesome Pa Dutch recipes, but not much in the way of fish dishes. The closest thing to seafood dish they made was what I called Amish surf-n-turf is when they would have their pork and oyster dinners. It was pork roast and an oyster stuffing/dressing made with crushed oyster crackers, sautéed oysters, diced potatoes, milk and butter. Sounds weird but was very good with a brown gravy over top. That was always my favorite side every Thanksgiving and I’d always ask my mom to make that filling!
I swear looks looks and also acts like my son, Daniel, did at that age. (He's almost 18 now). Every time I see Luke, it reminds me of when Daniel was that age. Their similarities are uncanny and almost startling! Lol

Some of the best memorize I have with my dad and grandpa and brother were cold nights fishing for crappie on Lake O. We would get a bucket of KFC and fish all night. I remember catching 300 or more as grandpa had a commercial license. Big ol live well full of minnows lights in the water and a whole lot of cane poles. The sound of that electric knife brings back memories for sure.

Back in the early 80s when I ran the lock S-65 on Hwy 60, All them people from up north would come down here and slaughter our specks, The limit was 50 per person, They’d go out at least twice a day and get the limit, Almost fished out Kissimmee, That PMO!!!
