    This case seems to also add to the evidence that often the deviants in society don't get away with their crimes for so long because they're necessarily incredibly smart, but because society has a tendency to defer and give the benefit of the doubt to status and wealth among other things.

      Well here in America, we don't have much space to talk, we'll elect anyone to office if they're charismatic enough, that this guy became a mayor, isn't that farfetched.

      …it was in the middle of world war 2. It isn’t unusual. It actually makes a lot of sense that people would be more concerned/fearful of Nazis than they would be concerned about people going missing when that’s what happened every single day in 1941.

    Thank you for covering this case. It's definitely not brief so you're awesome for covering it in such a great manner with time period photos. Isn't this case really crazy!? There is so many layers to it and during such a crazy time and era. I wonder how many people he actually killed? It'll probably never be proven but I'm just curious because he seemed very possible to have one of the highest number of victims. He definitely had the position and abilities to handle and blend in better than most people.. which made his opportunity to do what he did and have high level power over paperwork, documents, peoples trust, etc. It's crazy

    Good morning Brief 💼 Case 💐😊🤗 This is quite an action packed case...like a modern action movie! This guy wasn't crazy...he was just plain EVIL! He did a good job of pretending he was insane to get out of the front lines...at first it seemed plausible that he suffered from the battle. But then I nearly choked on my bagel when you said that he went to school to train to be a medical doctor, completed his studies, then went into practice not only at the psyche hospital, but then private practice. And he also met and married a woman and had a child! (She was the one who had to be insane! Poor child...wonder whatever became of him/her?) Became MAYOR?!?! Then carrying out all sorts of atrocities against men and women and unborn...he was sick with EVIL. Psychopath...who planned people's demise and coerced them into coming forward to escape the Nazis the WW only provided a really good cover for his evil to continue. Those poor people who trusted him with their lives and wanted to escape paid their killer to rob and murder them! Pure EVIL... And finally I'm a medical doctor...don't pay any attention to the dismembered bodies behind the curtain. They're enemies of France! 🤦🏻‍♀️😞 It was justice that he got what he did! Now off with his lying murderous head! (Thanks for the entertainment this morning!)

    • @jeanmorgan4343

    • @con.troller4183
      @con.troller4183 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      Well, realistically, one could pretty easily study that. Assuming most are caught eventually (seems likely in Western countries), we have pretty good data for the last hundred years on who the serial killers were. We also usually have biographies on them. So someone could look into this with only a little research.
      My actually guess is "not very many". Many serial killer seem to exhibit a disinhibited behavioral disorder and don't seem to have much willpower. From what I've seen, if they go into the military they usually wash out for behavioral reasons or end up in low intensity low responsibility positions.

I think that he was able to get away with so much was because of a combination of him obtaining a medical degree to give him the sense of authority and the occupation of France. wow, what a cracking tale this one was! it's kinda made my head spin.. this man Marcel sure lived a colourful life, with some really bad fortune and a great deal of amazingly good turns of events.. almost as though it was actually two completely different people. can you imagine what he may have accomplished, had he not had two horrendous world wars- with His homeland being the main stage- to contend with; and had He chosen a more altruistic path? hmmm.
    Either way, yet another super video from Brief Case,which is a given. Yet, once in a while there comes a story that totally blows me away, and this'un is most definitely in that category! Would you consider doing a Tragic and disturbing case on the late actress Margaret Rutherfords' father? He killed his father the Rev Julius Benn with a chamber pot in a b and b in Matlock Derbyshire in 1883. Her mother hung herself. Her father cut his throat after he had killed his father and was committed to Derby Jail. Then committed to Broadmoor. Even if you don't do one on him, it's still an interesting case to look up. The family is related to the MP. Antony Wedgewood Benn.
