yesss totally the right move it’s kinda annoying as a customer because we know Apple has more powerful tech already made and they hold it back to use for later to make more money this was a really good move on their part FOCUS ON THE CUSTOMER they are taking what they have and giving the best possible experience they can offer and that’s something I can get behind and look forward to seeing in more of the their products. Also great video Matt thanks for the content
I have a 24" 2009 iMac - , I can't upgrade some of my software 'cause I'm stuck at running Catalina. So an M3 iMac would be good. Just need to rob a bank! Keep up the good work Matt
No. Spec bumping the iMac to M2 keeps it relevant for the same price. As an entry level all in one complete unit it makes sense. An M3 might require a minor internal redesign, which would increase the price. That redesign and cost would be better spent on a “iMac Pro” that would justify a price jump.
Yes. A M2 iMac is OBE (Overcome By Events); introduction of M3. Enough with the 'new car year' release with computers. If Apple wants to keep something yearly, go with M3, M3Pro and special versions and accessories, M4, etal. Unless Apple wants to go the full 'new car year' and accept trade ins?
@@NurmYokai But the M1 iMac is already facing that. An M2 Mac mini with an LG 4K display, Magic Keyboard and Magic Mouse is around the same price as a similarly speced M1 iMac… but the Mac mini has a better processor. Spec bumping the iMac keeps it relevant and allows for the market to open for a more powerful and redesigned iMac.
The only reason to wait for the m3 pro for me would be the 3nm chips. Cause that is going to give loads of more power but also more power-efficiency aka more batterylife.
Does that energy efficiency matter as much with an iMac though? The biggest thing a chip upgrade for any entry level desktop would give would be the Thunderbolt ports.
The M2 Max is evolutionary. No one should make it a significant part of their buying decision IMO. It’s just a decent upgrade to keep up with the 1.5 years that have passed, no major new features, 15-20% faster. No complaints but also no reason to upgrade. If you’re still on Intel, you should upgrade but the M1 Max was also a great reason to upgrade. But the M3 might be a much larger leap if it includes a new process.
I will jump from my lovely mac book pro early 2013...to imac M1 or imac M3...this I will see carefully...but my old companion cant keep up now and very soon I need to upgrade
I was looking to buy an iMac with M2 chip to replace my 27" iMac 2019. I considered getting a 16 inch MacBook with M2 Max chip but concerned about smaller screen and battery life even when plugged in all the time.
I was thinking of getting either a new mac mini or macbook air m3? I love the weight and size of the air but I just wish I could pay for a better screen/more ports.
I’ve been hanging on to replace my 2013 iMac 27 inch. Not sure we are going to a 27 inch iMac replacement anytime soon. Torn whether to get a 24 inch iMac or Mac Mini.
Hey Matt, I don't think Apple made a good decision on skipping the M2 in the iMac as they are including it in most their new products and people will get use to having it in their products. I am hoping to enrol in medical school next academic year and i am saving money to buy a MacBook Air for my coursework.
I just need a new MacBook Air.. I don't need more than the M1, but I don't know if it is a good buy, in terms of length of support. Please do a video on this, Matt.
My Macbook Pro 13" retina battery has died...I love the 256GB SSD but the computer gets too hot and quits on me when I need it for writing my book. Sooo sometime soon I'll need a new Mac...
Been an 27" iMac user for many years. My next computer will most likely be a Mac Mini since I don't want a 24" iMac and Apple no longer makes 27" iMacs. But a Mac Mini with an external display might be a better option anyway than an iMac.
Hey there new subscriber here, thank you. I am really looking forward to the new iMac possibly with the M3 chip? I still have my iMac 27 2013 that works perfectly but need to upgrade. Any ideas if the new iMacs will be 27" or higher?
I am still using my 2010 iMac 27" and waiting for new one same size....for Photo and Video editing is a perfect size anything less is step back for me...
I would like to see a M3 I pad pro with 32gb ram and some form of macOS compatibility. Mainly, I just want to run parallels on it so I could VM my editing software I use in windows.
I'm still thinking between Mac Mini or MacBook Pro 14". Not sure which one I need since I work from home most of the time now, but I still need a replacement of my old MacBook Air Mid 2013, though.
I actually want an IMac.. but i dont want to buy one right now due to it being an old chipset as is. Plus i dont like the current colors with the white bezels. So I’m thinking about just buying a monitor for my MacBook
I had to put my 2013 macbook down this week 😩. We had a good run. So now I'm waiting on this M3 to come out. Can't wait. Unless... unless I win one haha.
In 2022 I upgraded to iPad Pro 12.9” M2 from the 2020 iPad Pro A19 and I also got Series 7 Watch. In 2023 I hope to save u enough to buy MacBook Pro or Air, I also want to upgrade from iPhone 13 to 15 Ultra when released.
Do you think Apple is doing the right decision is skipping the M2 in the iMac?

looking forwards to the macpro replacement ... still running macpro 5,1

Totally agree!
I'll wait for the -1nm model. It will actually generate energy back to the grid.
@@hbp_ lol that's what I was gonna comment 🤣

I plan on updating my MBP 2019 mid-year 2023. I am here getting info on what should be available when I am ready to update for my home studio.
is it still 24 inch? I want bigger screen, at least 27 inch
I’m curious to see if the old 27 inch will ever be replaced.
Trying to decide between iMac 24(m3) studio or mini before the end of 2023
Would they also release the iMac with the m3 pro as they did with the surprise m2 pro in the Mac Mini?
Definitely time to update my late 2013 iMac! Still deciding whether to purchase an iMac or Macbook. 🤞
For me a Mac Mini for me with 27" monitor

When is the new MacBook Air m3 coming out
27" iMac-that's what I need and would buy instantly!
So, I should wait till October?
I will jump from my lovely mac book pro early 2013...to imac M1 or imac M3...this I will see carefully...but my old companion cant keep up now and very soon I need to upgrade

I can’t wait for the iMac M3. I just purchased the iPhone pro. Thanks for this video.
I'm getting annoyed with Apple for not giving us a much needed iMac Pro 30" M3 Ultra. That's what people WANT.
Mac Studio is my next purchase, while I wait for the new iMac

M3 IMac pro chip with bigger display. Wish list
Hi Matt,
I’m hoping to get MacBook Pro 14” M2
