Thanks so much mate...I know we "dad-blues" guys are dinosaurs...but it's hard to improve on the perfection of this killer LP/Marshall/Celestion/SM57 combination!!
The day can't be very bad when we get to see Dr. Ric wailing on such a great combo of guitar and amp. The enthusiasm is infectious. The thick overtones came thought my headphones well and I can only imagine how it was in the room, (and at only 5 watts to boot). Thanks to Shane & Dr. Ric.
I’m so glad the thickness and 3D quality of the tone came through in the video! At the risk of sounding like an old curmudgeon, I can’t see any modeller/profiler/plugin capturing the sheer girth and complexity of this rig…I so enjoyed playing it!
Thanks mate! Playing my Les Pauls through this amp has been nothing short of a tonal epiphany Scott! Shane’s done a great job of capturing the rich, burnished tone of this rig! We really appreciate your ongoing support!
Damn that’s about as good of a demonstration of what that amp with a Les Paul and a Master Rock’n Roller behind it can sound like! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Dr Ric and Shane! You guys truly rock! Legendary!🤗🥰🎸🙏🎸👍✌️👋
Best review I've seen of this amp so far. Doctor Rick doesn't just say he's excited by the amp, he oozes it through his pores and even better, it's so noticeable when he's playing how much he enjoys it. Awesome stuff!
Thanks mate! I was so impressed with the tones of this amp, and perhaps even more so with the response to changes in the volume control and pick attack. It’s great to have a rainbow of tones at your fingertips without having to stomp on pedals! You have to try this amp!
@@rselp I already pre-ordered it last Friday. I've become a Marshall-man the past few years and even though I love my 1987x and SV20, they're not versatile. This Studio JTM seems really cool and I really enjoyed your playing, tones and excitement in this video: it gets me more excited 🙂
@@StevenAnthonyGuitar congratulations mate...you'll be so happy with the classic non-master volume Marshall tones! I'm strongly considering buying the combo!
@@rselp seems worthwhile, they improved the combo's on these by putting in a 12" and something other than a V-Type. I've got the Studio Vintage combo but swapped the speaker to a 10" Greenback. Got the Studio JTM to pair with my 2x12" of 1x12" though. Really curious about it. The only thing I worry about it the low end, because I don't use a lot of bass and the last time I tried the bigger JTM it was pretty wooly. How did you experience it with this one?
I'm kinda cringing about how gushy I sound in this video...but I hope that you good folks see my reaction as something straight from the heart. This amp sounds incredible...I heartily encourage you to check it out!
Wow.......Dr Ric shows up with the Les Pauls to give us a glimpse of what is possible with the magic combination of a good Marshall mixed with a good Les-Paul demonstrated by a great player.
Would love to see this vs the marshall 2245. The 2245 is obnoxiously loud but so great at the same time. This has the benefit of having the effects loop. Also wanting to get the gigrig underliner which would knock another 20db off...
Some great sounds in this video! I really don't need another amp but this is really tempting me haha. Always throws me for a loop when I see a right handed guitar on the channel, I've gotten so used to how the lefties look on you now that righties look weird 😄
Digging this amp and loving the tones you both pulled from them. Personally I'm a Normal channel guy. On my old plexi they weren't joking when they said 'high treble'. You guys captured the girth of that side of the amp. Look forward to hearing this amp more, until I buy one
Definitely a great amp, but considering a JTM45 is only 30 watts anyway, I would've liked Marshall to bring out the original 30 watts and just use power scaling like in their Origin models (say 30/15/2), and of course the effects loop. That's just my opinion, though. 🤷
Absolutely love mine and pretty much everything about it. I suppose if I was being picky, I would say that the 5w mode sounds so good, but also is still bloody loud for an apartment / nighttime playing. But, no worries, that's easily solved with a Two Notes Captor. But, if they had made the power scaling with 3 settings like on the Origin 20, 20, 5W and 1W or 0.5W, that would have made this even better as a standalone studio tool with no need for external attenuator. But then again, I love using the Two Notes as a load box, so I can run this straight into DAW, not cab. And the Two Notes cab modelling is better. And I'm sure the Ox-box is even better again. But, overall, I'm glad they set the price point under 1000eur and focused on tone and build quality. Marshall knocked this one out of the park. So much so, that I'm seeing SV20s on sale ;) Because many players would choose the JTM over the SV or SC. Though I do love the JCM high-ish gain tones too. But I feel like with everything cranked to 10, the JTM gain sound is kinda like that, except a bit more hairy/raw/pleasant/interesting - sounds less processed.
Very Cool, Thankyou. SO Awesome. I hope Dr. Rick is healing well. But he is playing SO awesome as always. Just received an Artist Guitars AP59 Les Paul copy today ........ OMG such an amazing Guitar. Thankyou Artist Guitars. YOU ROCK. Cheers
I think £1400 uk is an absolute steal for a amp of this quality and i think will hold value so well! Killer job by Marshall for not over pricing it also and it just screams vintage British rock invasion that everyone fell in love with....
I agree mate! I’ve always loved British blues invasion tones (Clapton, Page, Mick Taylor, Peter Green, Beck)…this amp captures those classic tones and dynamic response perfectly but at a manageable volume! Marshall have done such a great job!
@rselp Page never used a JTM 45 . There is nothing inherently wrong with a pcb, a well designed, well built pcb will be just as good if not better than a handwired amp. The main reason pcb's picked up a bad wrap was because basically everyone swapped to them to save money, and when saving money is your main concern you cheap out on the design and quality of a pcb which leads to bad pcb's. Would have sounded better if the guitar was in tune
Sounds awesome !!! This is the best demo of this amplifier, curious to know what pickups are in the les Paul?
G’day mate! Both of my Les Pauls (‘59 & ‘58 RI’s) are loaded with Gibson Custombuckers. AlNiCo III magnets, ~8kOhm…apparently as close to PAF spec as they can make them! I love them for that classic “Tele-On-Steroids” tone…lovely chirpy tops, warm mids, clear bottom end, not a hint of boominess!
I think they’re available as an aftermarket option…I can’t speak more highly of them!
Right on brother!! Thanks for the info they sound great I may have to get a set of ‘em, cheers from Canada !
