Russia is increasingly becoming a vassal state of China ( not militarily). The war and sanctions have pushed these two closer....causing an insane problem for Indian diplomacy. My belief is that we will be decoupling from Russia & that should happen because Russia cannot criticize China anymore..... They are too dependent on Beijing for their supplies etc.
However in immediate future, we may not have to decouple but I could see this overly hyped India Russia friendship start eroding by 2030 or even 2025. Indian diplomats , I am sure are aware of vassalisation of Russia by China and I hope our foreign policy is ready to accomodate Russia as not a friend but just a partner soon....The cracks are developing & this battle is lost to China who is increasingly showing itself as a senior partner to Russia who is junior and Russia has no choice unless they forfeit war and pay a shit load of war repparrations ( money) to Ukraine. Russia is doomed sadly....Unless there is a revolution there.
