If you watch a documentary on Sid and Nancy, She had nothing but nice things to say about him. She said that basically it wasn’t his fault for what happened you know she was on the down slope anyway and she doesn’t believe that that’s what happened. She said the last phone call she got from Nancy was a call that was very hunting and saying I love you mommy and please find me and said a rehab because we both want to get clean and we’ve hit rock bottom , and a few days later she was dead , and it was very sad.. She mentioned that Sid wrote her a few letters and was saying how much he loved Nancy , and wrote a few poems , and she just said that he was such a genuinely sweet person. I would love to read those letters! He just seemed so young and innocent, not ready for the world he was thrown into! Shame he had an awful mother and an awful girlfriend! Never stood a chance!
You can read those letters. I borrowed her autobiography from the library. The book is titled " And I don't want to live this life anymore" by Deborah Spungen. The letters are published in the book. I hope you can get hold of the book as you will be surprised at how articulate Sid comes across. I think the book was published in 1989 but I might be wrong about the date. Actually, I think I'll borrow it again next week.

But she found out and followed them to London. She tried her luck first with John Lydon(Rotten) and he told her to piss off and as a joke told Sid that he could have her and was surprised when they became an item. John said at the time it would end in disaster. She also fucked Steve Jones from the band and he wrote in his autobiography that he was a sex addict for many years. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with sex or one night stands because there isn't, but just saying Nancy was not an innocent. In her autobiography, Nancy's mum tells of the very difficult life Nancy had from the time she came home from hospital as a baby to when she died. According to her mum she had severe mental illness and was never properly diagnosed.

The Pistols were so smartand in the end they sacked Matlock for a guy who didn't know how to play, just because of "image". My less than humble garage band back then would never did such thing.
