- I've never heard the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure dub. So I got a list of 12 characters speaking in their English dub voice, and tried to figure out who they were.

I had a hard time with this even though i watched some of the dubs bc some people have the same voice actors
“Rock hard cock” is the absolute PINNACLE of all of jojo. Say whatever else you want to about the dub, but that line and it’s delivery are PURE GOLD.

I called the Rohan one from a mile away. Not because of the voice but because of the line. I thought “wait a minute Rohan talks like that in battle, and when he fights Josuke it’s because josuke closes his eyes so he can’t see HD.”
Also side note I’m gonna look this up in a second but I think Rohan’s English VA might be Akechi (P5) and Hubert (Fire Emblem 3H)’s voice actor

@@gogmagaming33 nope, Rohan is OG Broly and Edward Elric. I don’t think Robbie Daymond voices any JoJo characters. However, I think he’s fit as Jobin Higashikata in part 8.
@@gogmagaming33 Don’t forget his infamous ones: Broly from DB movies and Edward Elric from FMAB. Although currently due to controversies he’s replaced by Johnny Yong Bosch (Jonathan) for Broly.

The thing about polnareff is that he had an accent for the first few episodes he appeared in, and then just dropped it suddenly. Also, I really enjoyed this episode as someone who watches the dubs. It’s fun to see people react to any anime dub.
The first 2 parts also had a lot of accents. iirc they got a lot of backlash for the over the top accents and ditched the idea, could be wrong though.

You gotta watch part 5 in dub. The part 5 dub is INCREDIBLE.
The dialogue choices are fantastic, Mista's one-liners are especially brilliant.
"You gotta forgive Fugo! He didn't mean to come off as an over eager horndog!" And "What's with these stupid freakin' fingers on this stupid freaking plane!?"
And Narancia's dub actor SLAYED the scene after Abbacchio's death. It hits SO HARD.
Oh, and who could forget Trish's iconic line: "Eat it, bitch meat!"

mista’s dub voice is so cool fr. everyone sounded so good. Another good one would be Doppio dub or Secco Dub. Both of those are incredibly good

I actually really love young Joseph’s dub voice. It totally fits his personality, and the actor is top tier. He played numba one in code name: KND.
Dude has insane range too. His dub as Aomine in Kuruko may just be my favorite dub performance of all time

The Italian accents in the dub make me hope that Gyro gets a proper Italian VA or scrap it all together and make him sound like Matt Mercer because they sound so silly.
We love jojo dubs in this house… so excited for Johnny’s dub voice reveal and the southern accent
They won't give him an Italian Accent/VA. Mostly because they got in trouble for doing so in Part 1/2
@sunsetstreetz I'm excited as well! Though Johnny's voice may be difficult to cast as they need to find a balance of a strong southern accent whilst also making him sound soft like his JP voice.

The JoJo dub actually goes hard! I’ve rewatched all of JoJo dubbed and it’s actually really good. Also some of these scenes were massive curveballs! Rohan and Kakyoin do not sound like that for the whole series! 🤣
actually Vic Mignona(VA of Edward Elric & Rohan) and Kyle Hebert(VA of Kiba inuzuka & Kakyoin) are very easy to identify

As somebody who watches the dub, I genuinely thought the first one was kakyoin and when it showed Bruno I WAS SO CONFUSED
bruno is voiced by Ray Chase(the one that sounds like matt mercer) keep that in mind

I love how he’s hears the English VA go “lick lick lick lick lick” for the “rero” cherry scene, and goes “lick, lick, lick? That’s not right!” When that’s QUITE LITERALLY what the scene translates to in English. “Rero” is the Japanese word for “lick”
Nah, it isn't. Japanese has words for certain sounds. In this case, it refers to the sound of licking, not the licking itself.

Honestly the Jojo dub is pretty damn good when you get past the localization issues. Part 1 and 2's dubs are quirky fr tho there are some weird voices and accents in those two
I agree, the only thing really weighing it down is the localization, still it is awesome and just quirky enough for the weird wonderful world of jojo.

Part 1 & 2 are the only ones I watch in dub lol. I like the accents, and it makes sense, since jonathan and joseph speak English.

I have heard as a second-hand account from a first-hand account that Mignogna was generally unpleasant to have around, and he’s not exactly the most blindsiding revelation to some who knew him even if not subject to what he did.

I knew Rohan’s immediately, I don’t watch dub but his stand requires the person to see the page. This happened when he needed Josuke to open his eyes when Josuke was trying to save Koichi and Okuyasu

I don’t know if you’ve known this already, but there was actually a promo video back then of the main dub just trying to attempt to speak in Italian with an accent. These were the VAs of Bruno, Trish, Mista and Giorno. Their attempts at the language were hilarious 😂

I recognized Speedwagon through a series of speedy mental connections, I recognized Keith Silverstein’s voice and was like “what jojo character was he again?” And finally I remembered seeing his video where he mentions he voiced Speedwagon.
