- I'd wanted a pair of white denim pull up "jeans" for ages but could not find the right white denim in the shops. No worries, I found a wide leg pair in a thrift shop in amazing like-new condition! The seam ripping time was very worth it. I used a tried and tested pattern for this thrift flip: Allegro bottoms from Love Notions.

I just love all the "thrifting" videos you've been doing. Your ideas are so inspiring and helpful. My childhood years were filled with thrifted clothing from family members followed by thrift shop finds while shopping with my Mom as a teenager. Those times were precious. I still love to find great deals at the thrift shops, but since it's gain in popularity over the years, there is a lot of competition out there and a lot higher prices. A good deal is a great find when you score.

I love to recycle! I loved your idea on these. I have the pattern, but haven't made them yet. I went into recycling when I wanted to make granddaughters dresses and I bought thrifted women's skirts and made bodices with quilting cotton. They loved them. Thanks, Karina! It constantly amazes me that you don’t have 10 times the subscribers you do! The knowledge you pour out for us is always so useful.
I’ve been known to use bias binding to do a ‘false hem’ on pants which are a smidge too short. But if that hem was only 1cm, you’d only have been lucky to gain half a centimetre, so it probably wouldn’t have been worth it on those ones.
Or sometimes i do a false cuff if i can squeeze out a bit of a strip of leftover fabric. I’m not a big fan of a cuff though, so that’s my last ditch desperate attempt to salvage a pair of pants. And then I don’t wear them because I don’t like cuffs 😂
They turned out so well! I loved that white outfit you put together at the end with the coat.
I’ve done a hem facing many times and I just lose 1/4” of the original length. I would’ve done that if they weren’t white 😀😀

I like how the finish on your pieced pockets makes them look like cargo pockets.
You'll be happy that these are a little bit shorter in the winter to keep them up and away from any wet streets and sidewalks.

It is truly my most used pattern! I love the pants, shorts and skirts. Once you get the fit right, this pattern is so fast to sew!

I thrift flip a lot. In our area we don't have many fabric store options. There used to be many to choose from, but that is no longer the case. I find that I can create garments using patterns like you have done with the original garments and creating a new garment. I have several projects like this right now. It really is much cheaper if you can find something for just a few bucks and refashion it.
I used to do it all the time until I came to live here. We are in a rural area and the small towns around here just don’t have them 😭

Nice! I'm currently hemming my first pair of PE Palazzo pants but I'm not convinced the dramatic width is going to work for me. But at least I know there is enough fabric for me to "thrift flip" them using a different pants pattern.

Another great video. Karina, you never disappoint. I went thrifting yesterday and bought a linen dress and linen top to refashion. They were clearing out their clothes so I got them for only $2 each. Now the fun begins.

Such awesome work & awesome talent. I love to go thrifting. I just finished paddling up my mannequin using lots of material from thrift shops. I got my mannequin free . Really helps me to see how clothes look on me and helps me adjust the fit as needed. I also get used sheets for many muslins.

I enjoyed this very much. I have been flipping clothes for years now and it’s so much fun. Sometimes the clerks at the store give me the side eye when I’m buying stuff but then it’s totally different the next time they see it 😂

I have a pair of white linen trousers that start off ok, but look like clowns pants by the end of the day. Any ideas fellow sewists as to how I re-model these pls? The linen is gorgeous.
