I don't compare languages.. but Urdu is one of the Man's best creation. And people like Meesha Shafi are the ones who deliver the depth of this language in the best possible way. Love from India
I think I’m gonna make a bold claim that Pakistani music is the best in the world! Quality can only be realised and appreciated once certain level of maturity is achieved

The more I grow old, the more I realize just how good Faiz is and how complex and timeless his writing is. And Meesha, wow! Faiz is very hard to get right but how tremendously well has she sung this. This is where I fell in love with her. Her Urdu, they way she says Qatara for example is just❤❤. Finally Rohail and the team, are perfect as usual. What a composition! It highlights the beauty of the writing even more and brings the poetry, the words to the forefront. And I can't thank you enough for this! One of my all time favourites!!
When I first heard this song originally sung by Iqbal Bano, an old video capturing the live performance in b&w, I never thought someone could even come close to singing the composition in such a way, but this version had enticed me equally, beautifully performed by Meesha Shafi.
Literally had the longest goosebump of my life..after listening to this song. This voice is what we can call a God's Gift True. Today I found the real example of God's gift. Amazing amazing amazing voice she has. Couldn't stop my self from commenting on this video. I have no words. And the combination with this outstanding music crew. Specially the base player. Didn't expect this rocking music after that phenomenal 2 min of starting I just forgot that she is singing without any music. So Powerful voice she has🎶🎶🔥
What a composition such a compassionate lyrics, how a human mind can think and find words and also arrange it in glorious way, don't forget music and singing cherry on top
Manjit Singh. Thanks that you understood every word she sang, this is sheer blessing of knowledge of your Urdu language. You might had not enjoyed so much, if you had knowledge of only Hindi or Punjabi. Every language has its limitations.
In the desert of my solitude, my love, quiver the shadows of your voice, the mirage of your lips In the desert of my solitude, from the ashes of the distance between us, bloom the jasmines, the roses of your touch From somewhere close by rises the warmth of your breath it smolders in its own perfume - gently, languorously Far away, on the horizon, glistens drop by drop, the dew of your beguiling glance With such tenderness, my love, your memory has placed its hand on the contours of my heart Even though this is the dawn of our farewell, it feels like the sun has set on our separation and the night of our union is at hand Translation :)
Very accurate translation of a difficult poem. Kudos! This poem is a great example of the beauty of Urdu. The soft " Noon" endings ( Jaane jahan etc ) and " azafat" ( dashte tanhai, khasokhaak etc) gives Urdu its characteristic power and beauty to describe delicate emotions associated with love.
It is worth learning urdu language just to be able to understand all the wonderful urdu poetry. I feel so fortunate that I am a Pakistani and know Urdu.

One of those songs that, when sung so beautifully, just stay with you even after you've finished listening to them. This is pure magic from Meesha Shafi, Rohail Hyatt and Faiz.
OMG.. its simply awesome. i am speechless. i can not be able to explain my feelings... and thanks to all Indian Friends, who appreciated and like this track.
Meesha, you are phenomenal. And this song/performance is heavenly beautiful. I am listening to it for over 6 years now and it still takes me in trans. Thank you! You have no idea how much this one has comforted me in tough times. It's like meditation for me. Thank you again! May Allah bless you!
Absolutely true.We can all play our individual part to spread peace love and respect for one another. Talents like this can certainly bring people together
She is lost in her own singing, transported to a different world ruled by heart and feelings and grace. This voice is coming from a different higher realm. She Hasn't opened her eyes throughout the song to tk any interest of the mortal world. Power of music n poetry. We getting you meesha, the composer n faiz sahab and the entire team. You successfully transcended us to a beautiful world for a few moments. Thanks
Amazing voice quality Meesha has ! She is in line with the greats like Farida Khanum, Reshma, Abida.... Just wish she has more such music coming from her... Great fan of hers. I dont even want to get into the India - Pakistan issue here. For me the music is far more transcendental then these petty issues... We are all the same.
+Ajay Dahiya urdu is a mixture of arabic persian turkish and sanskrit ..which muslim soldiers of subcontinent developed for thousand years no wonder if persian or arabic sound in it ... proud to have urdu in our cibilization ...
Classy absolutely beautiful Misha shafi is another greater addition to pakistan music industry .. Always a proud Pakistani when it comes to coke studio 😍
misha aced it and the drummer wearing, getting flooded n drowned in emotions give nostalgia of 80s n always keep bringing me back to listen song.. n the smile of young guitarist like @5:45, @6:33 n @2:49 give whims of 1990s battle of bands era.. epic song n epicly shot too! 💯
Meesha´s rendition of Iqbal´s former recording is also great, done with much care, respect and love. Comparisons are always expected but it´s not possible not to like Meesha, in her adding an subtle personal touch and a few electronic instruments plus an electric violin.
So you listen the Original one too ....But i think comparison is not necessary Iqbal bano sung it without digital arrangements while still she has the edge of digital Arrangements
Huhammad I have listened to the Iqbal´s original and it made me think that Meesha´s rendition is almost a tribute to Mrs. Bano...a very good one indeed!
Music is no one's property bro. neither it has nationality nor it is under anyone's control. listen to it with wider perspective. either that side of border or this side of border, it's us Asians, us Humans, who are rising!
Fatima Siddiqui sorry to burst your bubble but Urdu is not Pakistan's property. It is the first language of Muhajirs (Muslim refugees from different part of india) which makes just 8% of the total population of Pakistan. In India, about 65 million people speak Urdu as their first language while in Pakistan, there are 16 million people who speak it as their first language. Around 99% of Urdu verbs have their roots in Sanskrit and Prakrit. It's one of the 22 official languages of India. It's also the official language of the capital New Delhi with Hindi, Punjabi, english being the other three. So next time don't say urdu is Pakistan's property because it's clearly NOT..
Ankita Singh Thanks for such a compelling reply and putting the things in perspective. Urdu is very much an Indian language. People in other countries are most welcome to speak/write in it, but no one can claim monopoly over this beautiful language. It is in fact the legacy of India's composite culture.
The base guitar in this song is absolutely mind blowing. It is so subtle yet so mesmerizing and exquisite; definitely among the best that I've ever heard
The subtitles are a bit wordy ... here is my attempt at translation: In the desert of solitude, o beloved, something moves The shade of your voice, mirage of your lips In the sand of separation, bloom roses of your presence Closeby, smoldering in your gentle perfume The blaze of your breath In the distance, glisten dew drops of your loving glance With such tenderness, o beloved, thoughts of you Caressed my heart, though tis but the dawn of separation As if the sun of farewell sets And the night of union arrives
+hyqhyp i think ur translation of last masnavi is wrong it feels as if, even-though its still morning of separation, that sun of separation has set and night of union has arrived poets means that your imagination is so vivid it feels as if we are together however infact its just the beginning(morning) of seperation
Literal translation is never a good idea in poetry, and I have found this to be very dramatically true for Urdu poetry. Hence, I have taken licence with the way I have split the verse. I have also tried to use fewer words where possible, brevity is yet another critical feature of poetry that doesn't migrate across in literal translations. I have seen expert poetry translators do this (for example Umar Khayyam's poetry in best English translation is nothing like its literal original ... see www.okonlife.com/poems/page1.htm), though I am no expert at either poetry or the two languages. This is just my opinion, and in aesthetic matters personal taste of a nobody is worth about half a cent to others.
nevertheless you did a very good job. i really enjoyed your version of translation, it has a bit of feel of the song. Way better than the one that CS did. (Y)
+FAISAL SHAHZAD Music these days is lot more about "post processing" as well. She has a very unique and powerful voice. A great match for this song, and I really love this version but though to mention good team like CokeStudio does wonders behind the scenes ...
Each word of the lyrics is such a perfect description of feelings that can't be expressed in any better manner than what Faiz sahab has expressed in. The singer has done such justice to the creation with her voice....It rules the heart as u listen to it....It is such a lovely creation ♥
“The desert of my solitude” In the desert of my solitude, my love, quiver the shadows of your voice, the mirage of your lips In the desert of my solitude, from the ashes of the distance between us, bloom the jasmines, the roses of your touch From somewhere nearby rises the warmth of your breath it smolders in its own perfume - gently, languorously Far away, on the horizon, glistens drop by drop, the dew of your beguiling glance With such tenderness, my love, your memory has placed its hand on the contours of my heart Even though this is the dawn of our farewell, it feels like the sun has set on our separation and the night of our union is at hand
Simply awesome, I never thought we have such great talented female singer in our land. She sings from the heart and this is what counts the most. I am impressed. Abdul Durrani
what a bullshit comment, the best singers have always been from Pakistan AND female, haven't you heard of Abeda Parveen and Noorjehan...you must not be a person of Pakistani origin
This is so beautiful ❤️ yesterday I have been heard this song in the show "Shockers" available in Disney plus hotstar in India. In that episode name is Nagma -E -Tanhai and that also the song name they play in that episode while listening to that song first i love it and i started searching for that song on TH-cam by keeping that show name and song and i known that they changed the name of the song in their episode. The original song name is dasht-e tanhai. Both are even same lyrics. This song when I listen that while watching that show it touch my heart and wonderful poet he showed everything visionary in this words he written towards the song . And singers in old Iqbal banu and now she sang amazing with a feel how he written exactly they show in their voice. This effects like touching towards the hearts definitely, this will do here
Mr Hyatt my only wish in today's world is to meet you as the way you have decorated the music in coke studios with all the phenomenal musicians and the singer the credit is -1 infinity to + infinity -god bless himself for creating a person like you .
12 years this song has been with me in all my struggles. I am dealing with the worst, away from family, feeling alone in the middle of so many people. I cannot tell them what goes on in me, but I can pour my heart out to this song. It has been a better friend to me than all the hundreds of friends around me and even my family. See you next time my friend, may we meet when I cannot handle it all once more.
This version and redo nailed it with modern recording techniques . Excellent Instrumental and clarity of lyrics... Modern Recordings can do miracles. Not a fan of misha shafi but here she proved herself as a pure talent .
Playing this and Rajnish hi sahi in loop for last two days😮 still looking for words to praise the author, composer, singer and coke studio for bringing this to us. Thanks to A SWT for everything!
Meesha proved that she is among the female singers who can sing Faiz Sahb wonderfully and did justice to Iqbal Bano and Tina Sani n Nayyara noors vocals
in my humble experience, i personally do not know any language that is as rich as eloquent as Urdu when it comes to putting emotions as metaphors and expressing passion pain anguish ..... I wish i spoke better Urdu!
Persian :). It is the original language that gives Urdu its beauty. Pure persian is extremely poetic and softer than urdu, because it doesnt have some of the harsh phonetics coming from Hindi and other subcontinental languages.
what a beautiful song.... below is its English translation“The desert of my solitude”In the desert of my solitude, my love, quiver the shadows of your voice, the mirage of your lipsIn the desert of my solitude, from the ashes of the distance between us, bloom the jasmines, the roses of your touchFrom somewhere nearby rises the warmth of your breath it smolders in its own perfume - gently, languorouslyFar away, on the horizon, glistens drop by drop, the dew of your beguiling glanceWith such tenderness, my love, your memory has placed its hand on the contours of my heartEven though this is the dawn of our farewell, it feels like the sun has set on our separation and the night of our union is at hand
I am a die hard Meesha fan - no questions - but - if you want to taste the real flavour of this Ghazal in all its verbal, expressional and elegant appeal with its complete grandeur listen to Iqbal Banoo's original number sung some 40~50 years ago - you will understand what I mean
I have Iqbal Banoo's singing this song many times. That was a different time but combination of modern musical instruments and Meesha's powerful voice is really unique.
same here. all languages are good but i have a prejudice in favor of Urdu which is my other tongue, no other south Asian language matches its sweetness and polish
What a beautiful voice. I know this is not original which was sung by Great Iqbal Bano. But I really like the modern version of this song. What a beautiful way she has sing this version.
She holds your complete attention without any music for two whole minutes.
That's the magic of these lyrics and her voice.
Absolutely stunning
Faiz sahab ka kamaal. Complete Attention is the least one can give. Rendition yes but lyrics are far and beyond any poetry
true that. just listened to those first two minutes thrice in a row!
Wow beautiful song 😢😢😢😢😢😢
Absolutely
I don't compare languages.. but Urdu is one of the Man's best creation. And people like Meesha Shafi are the ones who deliver the depth of this language in the best possible way. Love from India

I think this was Misha's best performance ever. She did every bit of justice to this legendary song.
So well said!
Title: Dasht-e-Tanhai - دشتِ تنہائی - Barren Wasteland of Loneness
Language: Urdu
دشتِ تنہائی میں
Dasht-e-Tanhai men
In the barren wasteland of loneness
اے جانِ جہاں لرزاں ہیں

Silhouettes of your voice
تیرے ہونٹوں کے سراب

Illusions of your lips
دشتِ تنہائی میں
Dasht-e-Tanhai men
In the barren wastelands of loneness
دوری کے خس و خاک تلے
doori ke khas o khaak tale
Beneath the debris of being far from you
کھل رہے ہیں تیرے پہلو کے سمن اور گلاب
khil rahe hain tere pahlu ke saman aur gulaab
The lilies and roses from your side are blooming

اٹھ رہی ہے کہیں قربت سے تیری سانس کی آنچ

Flickering up from somewhere nearby is the flame of your breath
اپنی خوشبو میں سلگتی ہوئی مدھم مدھم
apni khushbu men sulagti hui maddham maddham
Smouldering in its own fragrance, slowly, softly
دور افق پار چمکتی ہوئی قطرہ قطرہ
door ufuq paar chamakti hui qatrah qatrah
Sparkling far across the horizon, drop by drop
گر رہی ہے تیری دلدار نظر کی شبنم
gir rahi hai teri dil-daar nazar ki shabnam
The dew of your heart-delighting glance is falling
اس قدر پیار سے اے جانِ جہاں رکھا ہے
is qadar pyaar se ay jaan-i jahaan rakkha hai
So tenderly, O life of my world
اس قدر پیار سے اے جانِ جہاں رکھا ہے
is qadar pyaar se ay jaan-i jahaan rakkha hai
So tenderly, O life of my world
دل کے رخسار پہ اس وقت تیری یاد نے ہاتھ
dil ke rukhsaar pih is waqt teri yaad ne haath
Has your memory laid its hand on the cheek of my heart just now
یوں گماں ہوتا ہے گرچہ ہے ابھی صبحِ فراق
yoon gumaan hota hai garchih hai abhi subh-i firaaq
It seems as if, though it is yet still the dawn of parting
ڈھل گیا ہجر کا دن آ بھی گئی وصل کی رات
dhal gaya hijr ka din aa bhi gayi wasl ki raat
The day of separation is done and the night of union is already here

look the power of our great language urdu. . . proud to have language like urdu . . . love Pakistan
exactly, there is a magic in every language and great poets and artists have been doing an excellent job in depicting it for centuries
Everthing for pakistan not your language though it developed during mughal india in central india
I'm coming back to here again and again for years now. A great song. Hope everyone if fine in these dreadful times.
You are not the only one :)
oh beloved urdu.....what wonderful poetry...what wonderful expressions..
AMAZING ! what a performance by mesha shafi i luv her expressions. AMAZING
I was shocked , how on earth can any one has this kind of unreal majestic voice :O :O
Meesha Shafi did justice to such a golden piece originally sung by M'am Iqbal Bano! Superb!
"Gir rahi hay teri dildar nazar ki shabnam "❤️❤️❤️
Fatima Tariq nice
The music, words and the rendition transcend any nationality - this is a gift for the mankind!!
Absolutely true.We can all play our individual part to spread peace love and respect for one another. Talents like this can certainly bring people together
Ranjan Sharma Agree
Amazing but such a difficult creation. You must know how to play with breathe and patience. And this lady has done that beautifully
Thanks
Oh My God!!!
Heaven is RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW .....
I literally weep when I listen to this ghazal.... every time it shakes my core 😢 thank you for this spectacular experience
What about it makes you weep?
Amazing voice quality Meesha has ! She is in line with the greats like Farida Khanum, Reshma, Abida.... Just wish she has more such music coming from her... Great fan of hers. I dont even want to get into the India - Pakistan issue here. For me the music is far more transcendental then these petty issues... We are all the same.
Meesha Shafi Epitomises Modernity Without Borrowing A Western Idiom
The whole Coke Studio Experiment represents that.
Kya Kashish hai!!!
Meesha you beauty..... you nailed it, you absolutely did justice to this song...... lots of love.
Urdu words are so damn soulful beyond description..and the way she recites i'm in love with the universe! :)
Such a level of urdu, take a bow, writer!!! Meesha, as usual, beautiful rendition
These lyrics are of a poem "Yaad" by Faiz Ahmed Faiz, (one of the greatest Urdu poets
+muhammad ovais khan meesha is grand daughter of faiz ahmad faiz
+Ajay Dahiya urdu is a mixture of arabic persian turkish and sanskrit ..which muslim soldiers of subcontinent developed for thousand years no wonder if persian or arabic sound in it ... proud to have urdu in our cibilization ...
muhammad ovais khan thank you for this piece of information
jehanzeb srinagar oh wow! Didn't knew this..no doubt where she got such diction
Unquestionably, hauntingly, heart-wrenchingly, breath- stopping beautiful.❤❤❤❤
Your Faiz💕
what a choice of words perfectly defining her
Great personality... Pakistan, let every girl to grow in their respective field of interest as Meesha has grown to this place. Respect for Meesha.
Classy absolutely beautiful Misha shafi is another greater addition to pakistan music industry .. Always a proud Pakistani when it comes to coke studio 😍
AJ Morgan thanks morgan

Meesha, I wanted to hear some other song of yours, but discovering this has taken my sleep off, its 2:45 AM, amazing...beautiful Tanhai..
Is kadar..
This is her best. I wish there were more wonderful performances to see.
So cool! Brilliant voice. Good musicians and tasteful arrangement. Beautiful video. Yes!
Misha's voice is almost similar to legendary Madam IQBAL BANO. Respect to urdu language and the well known poet. Faiz sir God bless you
Passionate about his profession..so visible in his eyes, never cared for money .
What legends , immortalized renditions
Amazing
After 50 years she will be remembered by this performance. It can't get any better than this
superb control, super modulation . Accompaniment also quite good. She will go places.
misha aced it and the drummer wearing, getting flooded n drowned in emotions give nostalgia of 80s n always keep bringing me back to listen song.. n the smile of young guitarist like @5:45, @6:33 n @2:49 give whims of 1990s battle of bands era.. epic song n epicly shot too! 💯
Rohail Hyatt can be called the Radiohead of Asia, with all that experimentation.
Haha cool
No trouble in calling him a Pakistani, actually. We don't have such artists anywhere else in Asia. Credit where it's due.
Meesha´s rendition of Iqbal´s former recording is also great, done with much care, respect and love.
Comparisons are always expected but it´s not possible not to like Meesha, in her adding an subtle personal touch and a few electronic instruments plus an electric violin.
It is an excellent rendition. Meesha was superb.
Edson F Cordeaca
yes it is she is a good Singer.......i was just saying about Comparison ......by the way its Muhammad not Huhammad ..Thanks for reply
I got your point.
bad typing... sorry Muhammad.
Only BOLD voice like Misha's could've justified the Remix.. beautifully sung ❤
What an amazing singer! Her low notes gave me shivers.
God bless Meesha, such talent is just amazing. Thank u for this lovely wonderful voice and spirituality. Our Pakistani music is the best n blessed
Ankita Singh -- it's not a property of India either -- Nor anyone else -- end of case..
Ankita Singh
Pakistan has attempted to keep Urdu alive through music, dramas, literature and also by making it the national language of Pakistan
The base guitar in this song is absolutely mind blowing. It is so subtle yet so mesmerizing and exquisite; definitely among the best that I've ever heard
The subtitles are a bit wordy ... here is my attempt at translation:
In the desert of solitude, o beloved, something moves
The shade of your voice, mirage of your lips
In the sand of separation, bloom roses of your presence
Closeby, smoldering in your gentle perfume
The blaze of your breath
In the distance, glisten dew drops of your loving glance
With such tenderness, o beloved, thoughts of you
Caressed my heart, though tis but the dawn of separation
As if the sun of farewell sets
And the night of union arrives
+hyqhyp i think ur translation of last masnavi is wrong
it feels as if, even-though its still morning of separation,
that sun of separation has set and night of union has arrived
poets means that your imagination is so vivid it feels as if we are together however infact its just the beginning(morning) of seperation
hyqhyp Brilliant!!! But may be you wanna recheck the last line. It is perhaps Night of Separation.
wao
OMG. . . How She sung this song???? Can,t believe . . . Speechless . . . No body can sing like this . . It,s my challenge . . . Love ur voice Meesha
i think you forgot Madam noor jehan
+FAISAL SHAHZAD Music these days is lot more about "post processing" as well. She has a very unique and powerful voice. A great match for this song, and I really love this version but though to mention good team like CokeStudio does wonders behind the scenes ...
you are just immature giving this kind of challenge. i love this song but dont get carried away with it.
and also iqbal bano
+Salar Sohail you macth madam noor and meesha you no she call madam
Meesha! oh meesha ❣
And Faiz saab's brilliant poetry.
Oh my Marx!
Am I the only one who appreciates the bass work here? Amazing!
legendary base lines. ....true
+Rahul Kuhite bro i am also :)
me too bro
ZAFAR MUNNU IS A LEGEND HAHA
Bass and yes it is spectacular!
Long live Pakistan!! God bless Pakistan!!

Faiz Ahmed Faiz - Greatest urdu poet of the 20th century of all time. Hit like if you agree
Iqbal hands down. But yeah the most romantic.
Ahmed Faraz hai
I
Iqbal also.
My all time favourite ❤
Each word of the lyrics is such a perfect description of feelings that can't be expressed in any better manner than what Faiz sahab has expressed in. The singer has done such justice to the creation with her voice....It rules the heart as u listen to it....It is such a lovely creation ♥
Puja Samrajya Kalam
But the irony is....ppl r still not realizing ,wat a bful things exist around us
nice
“The desert of my solitude”
In the desert of my solitude, my love, quiver
the shadows of your voice,
the mirage of your lips
In the desert of my solitude,
from the ashes of the distance between us,
bloom the jasmines, the roses of your touch
From somewhere nearby
rises the warmth of your breath
it smolders in its own perfume - gently, languorously
Far away, on the horizon, glistens
drop by drop,
the dew of your beguiling glance
With such tenderness, my love,
your memory has placed its hand
on the contours of my heart
Even though this is the dawn of our farewell,
it feels like the sun has set on our separation
and the night of our union is at hand
Meesha Shafi is an institution in music 🎵 . Exceptionally well arranged music . Would have loved to hear saxaphone in this rendition though.
She is incomparable - what talent!!
excuse me incomparable ? ever heard original by iqbal bano?
And hard work
Simply awesome, I never thought we have such great talented female singer in our land. She sings from the heart and this is what counts the most. I am impressed. Abdul Durrani
yes me too, never knew
what a bullshit comment, the best singers have always been from Pakistan AND female, haven't you heard of Abeda Parveen and Noorjehan...you must not be a person of Pakistani origin
Alic George Paul i miss rohail hyatt so much ... i am crying 😭😭😭😭😭
Incredibly beautiful, both the singer and the song!
Is kadar pyar say .. ay Jane jahan Rakhaa hay
Dil k ruksaar pay is waqt....teri yaad nay hath
This one is my favourite lyrics in this nazam.. May allah Faiz rip
This is my most favorite shair in this ghazal
Waoo kya lines hain😍😘
I keep listening to this song most of the time when in mood
Listening it in 2019 and may continue doing so in years to come
Her pitch is absolutely perfect. What a gifted singer.
Kalaam aur awaaz ka mukammal wesaal h ye presentation.
Love from Lucknow india
Mai v Lucknow se sir... Faiz sahab ka kalam aur meesha ki ruhani awaaz .. ❤️🙏
oh my God this is awesome. I wont be wrong in saying that the way she sang, the song didn't need music rather it was the music that needed this song.
What a voice, such justice to the original song. Loved it.
Meesha proved that she is among the female singers who can sing Faiz Sahb wonderfully and did justice to Iqbal Bano and Tina Sani n Nayyara noors vocals
I listened this first time in kennedy auditorium , Aligarh muslim university. It made me fall in love with urdu
Anyone in 2024 ?
Boht khoobsurat likha aur gaaya. All time favourite.
I keep coming back to this. What a beautiful performance!
Give me goosebumps every single time, what a voice.
Thank you for this composition.
her voice control is very fantastic.shazzadul huq from .Bangladesh
in my humble experience, i personally do not know any language that is as rich as eloquent as Urdu when it comes to putting emotions as metaphors and expressing passion pain anguish ..... I wish i spoke better Urdu!
Buddy Urdu and Hindi are 95 percent the same only the scripts are different and few words
taareef or aizaz ka shukria !
You are mistaken. Urdu is not a language but Persian mixed with Hindi. It doesn't have its own vocabulary, script or grammar.
Persian :). It is the original language that gives Urdu its beauty. Pure persian is extremely poetic and softer than urdu, because it doesnt have some of the harsh phonetics coming from Hindi and other subcontinental languages.
Yes you are right. This poem is written by Faiz Ahmed Faiz. His poetry consists alot of aesthetic sense and beauty.
I remember this song in Tina Sani voice in my childhood . But what a classic by Meesha and music by Rahail . Coke studio is pure Love ❤
what a beautiful song.... below is its English translation“The desert of my solitude”In the desert of my solitude, my love, quiver
the shadows of your voice,
the mirage of your lipsIn the desert of my solitude,
from the ashes of the distance between us,
bloom the jasmines, the roses of your touchFrom somewhere nearby
rises the warmth of your breath
it smolders in its own perfume - gently, languorouslyFar away, on the horizon, glistens
drop by drop,
the dew of your beguiling glanceWith such tenderness, my love,
your memory has placed its hand
on the contours of my heartEven though this is the dawn of our farewell,
it feels like the sun has set on our separation
and the night of our union is at hand
Excellent translation. this is even better than what is mentioned in the video clip.
12 years and only 9 million views for this masterpiece
Cant stop listening to this song over and over again... I think I am getting addicted to her intoxicating voice :)
Urdu is so beautiful language.Adore it as my mother tongue💖 Wish I could learn to speak in proper accent.
same here. all languages are good but i have a prejudice in favor of Urdu which is my other tongue, no other south Asian language matches its sweetness and polish
What a beautiful voice. I know this is not original which was sung by Great Iqbal Bano. But I really like the modern version of this song. What a beautiful way she has sing this version.
