I quit 2 weeks ago, good for you! It was too punishing not logging in every day and the time commitment was too much. Also focusing too heavily on player rankings and PVP required a lot of money IMO to remain competitive at a high rank. I really didn't care for the hero designs either, aside from the Celestial and Hypogeons which were a money sink. Resetting your progress each season and having to build yourself back up was just the nail in the coffin for me.
Great summary, I'm still playing but just enough to get some dailys in. Half way through your video I found myself wondering if you had ever tried raid shadow legends and then boom you dropped your new plan to cover raid and thanks to a recommendation from another great c.c. my man Ash! I'm gonna recommend on his channel that he host you for a collab as you get things off the ground! It would be great to see you guys discussing a lot of the points that your making today. I'm a long time raid player and ash follower. I came across and have been enjoying your content while playing afk journey which has felt like a great filler game around my Raid play but less so in recent weeks. Cheers to you, I look forward to your new content on raid! Ps your voice sounds just like Robin leech, dude, great radio/ podcast voice!
I agree with you in that the game has some direction problem. That being said, devs are actively trying to address that problem and others. Now about your complaints... You are about to make the safety car enter the race. Name me mobile gacha games that don't punish you if you don't play for a month lol. Like how dumb is that? If anything, I have not updated my comps for dream realm or arena, despite the new Stargaze units and the Scarlitas everywhere. Turns out, im still top 20 in server and 50 in district. Surprise, just by leveling up I keep being competitive with minimal effort. You complain bout nothing to do in the world just when they updated the game to address the problem. Whether they are successful or not, it will take time to know but is good that they are taking it seriously. Fun stuff, you complain about the grind but what type of content do you think they could implement in the open world other than minigames? You are right: grinding for materials to improve equipment, like many open world games do. I guess then you would complain that it takes too much time to collect the resources? They have implemented QoL updates, like being able to grind AFK stages in the background while you do other content. Supreme Arena forces you to at least think a bit and try some things every week when they change maps. They already said they are working on revamping Honor Duel and Labyrinth. They are trying to make Guild vs Guild events more thrilling by changing maps. They have increased the amount of free stargazers you can get every month and boosted the rate at which new players can catch up. Honestly, they are trying and trying to improve the game constantly. You might be able to duel other players in the near future too. Now everyone agrees that this season is taking way too long. But that's also not a "I unstall" problem. You can just enjoy the afk feature of the game, log in everyday for half an hour and you are good to go. I think your problem with this game is that you took it too seriously from the beginning and it is still an idle game. I just like that If i play for 30 minutes a day im good, and if I want to grind tower levels or Dura levels I can do it too. I like the flexibility. And to anyone that thinks this game is a cash grab... You have seen nothing LOL. The game has flaws. The devs are working to fix them. In the meantime, you can just enjoy idly cause it's an idle game. Or who knows, maybe what happens is that you don't really like phone games and should try some console ones.
I appreciate your points but I think you give the game too much credit. Also I've played and enjoyed several mobile games on my main yt channel for 8 years now I think our big difference is that you clearly just find the daily tasks and gameplay more fun than I, and a lot of the other comments here, do. And that's OK!
I quit right before Ulmus. Character progression for light spenders and f2p felt so impossible beyond mythic. You had to rank in arena and dream realm and everywhere else. I was ranking top 25-50 before the new season. I started the season slow with other life responsibilities, and never could hit top 50 again. It felt like so much to do every single day, just to maintain rank, and yet never make progress towards higher ranks. I started panic finishing dailies right before reset before done realizing I missed it, and never opened the app again
I agree with all your points, I still play the game but probably quit soon since the only gamemode that is fun to me is arena but lately I've been hitting the paywall of just getting stat checked by +20 weapon/paragon/celestial comps; I find it fun to try new comps but unfun when a guild just studies me and attacks me 15-20 times a day and as a monthly pack buyer Im lacking in the hypogean deparment so there isn't really a solid comp to defend when 70% of top 20 are from the same guild. I dont have it in me to go through another season, 80% of the content is obnoxious and unfun, events give u very little rewards for what this game is... lets be honest if the character isn't supreme+ you can't compete with it. Without mentioning their clear problem when it comes to weapon progression, baiting people into thinking the game is F2P friendly, not its not. You fall off and HARD.
I suspect I benefited from restarting a month after launch, so I only got a 3 month season. 2 months in and hitting level caps everywhere, don't feel any progression any more. In dream realm I no longer beat my previous records every time, sometimes don't equal them, as progress is glacial. Going to be a month of chilling before the next season. There was some content that did take you around the map, but some you missed and now there is fishing. They did improve the timers on the fair event for it's second appearance. The real challenge at this point is that they need some content that feels meaty but doesn't take hours, and that could be a challenge with all the daily stuff they have set up. Might need to prune some dailies next season I reckon.
Same, I was pretty high ranking on my server (top 50 consistently), started day 1, spent probably $200 and just decided that it felt like a chore. Dropped it immediately, not worth spending time on any hobby that you don’t enjoy.
clan reputation was awful, as well as the time-limited events. most people quit the game because that was the only playable content and was frustrating and irritating. i somehow grinded that and unlocked the definitive reward: inner peace at this point my game is an idle again and pretty much i just have to log, claim everything, do dream realm once and forget until next day. the beetle boss was fun tho i enjoyed farming it and unlock the special tittle it was so close i ended up being rank 47 in the last day so pretty happy about it
The endless hero dust grind was a terrible idea. Nobody wants to start over every 3-4 months. They need to fire the creative director or the game will never get better.
The global launch feels like a test run for the asian market. They improved some things. They now store your unused instant AFK rewards for up to a week. All hero recruitment was shortened. Rewards got improved there. The 3 A-level hero stones as a reward for the day felt insulting... There are many more things like this. For me personally it was a lot of fun pre season. But at the end of the first season it got very boring. We got some new content but it is a month until season 2. If they doesn't make improvements I will probably quit.
Before I even listen to your reasons, Inwill state mine. First and foremost for me, as an competitive AFKA player, I could not get over how long it takes to complete all daily activities in AFKJ. And then add the insane hours it takes to grind all the seasonal content when the season starts.... I simply can't... They could automate 99% of these activities and it would be much more fun and more AFK...
I stopped because I was attracted to the mild open world rpg and story stuff and wanted to try some idle gaming. But this game ended up being soooo repetitive and boring. I did continue into the background afk stage levels but it just wasn't enough. I was very excited at that but it triggered me realizing that the daily commitment of staying in the top range had long since felt like a chore.
Honestly if Volkin and Barry arent in CC program for this game they would stop playing and hyping this boring game. Literally game did zero thing to improve plenty stuff that was needed. lack of orange essence, lack of things to do in real world. fishing is done in like 10 minutes and thats it. very dissapointed in this game. i play literally for 10 minutes. and on top of that every unit they make is must mythic+ such a boring design and then cc hype you how everything is great and they never tell you honest opinions.
The more you play, the more you realize this game feels like cash grab, idk take week off and thers nothing you can do to come back as a f2p player. The game is badly designed at its core, who in their right mind would grind hour a day every day if they knew few days can ruin all of it. Boring gameplay is the least bothering, bc I believe it's fixable but the monetization and how grindy it is will be the downfall of this game
Basically I continue playing to get some A level characters to supreme+ for the next season in September

Gave it up two weeks ago, the begging of the end for me was the weird timed quiz game show.

Get ready for the new fateless game, that's gonna be huge for content creators!
@@nathanhenry8537 yep I'm excited about that one!
The endless hero dust grind was a terrible idea. Nobody wants to start over every 3-4 months. They need to fire the creative director or the game will never get better.
the game felt like a chore somehow. so I finally quit midway into the season.
The global launch feels like a test run for the asian market. They improved some things. They now store your unused instant AFK rewards for up to a week. All hero recruitment was shortened. heyas ex where as i am still in the guild..i do hope to see you when the new stuff comes out!! ( Oberon from the dinkies)
@@lordrayden good to see dinkies is still top of the server!
Still playing since day 1.
for me i still play just cuz of my guild friends and that is the only reason for me to keep play
great reason to play dude - friendship is important :)
This season has been dragged out far too long. I get it takes time to make new content but they gotta keep players entertained

I see you've changed the channel into Raid: Shadow Legends.
Isn't it like AFK Journey, only worse?
@finkelzo more idle, so can be played more casually without the massive time sink
That’s what I’m saying! RAID is not much better than any idle game out there.
got bored thats it
