  • In this interview, Bart Naessens talks about his relationship to WTC I No. 21 in B-flat major. This short and deceivingly simple piece hides a multitude of intricate harmonic and rhetorical elements, which keeps this Prelude and fugue ever intriguing.

Thanks for Bart Naessens' profound insight of Bach's music, as shown in this 'simple' prelude and fugue and played by him in the other upload.

Such beautiful commentary and playing. I thought of Gjerdingen's Romanesca schemata for the prelude, elegant galante

That was a truly wonderful mini-meditation--an obviously well-educated, very insightful musician delving into the particularities of a single work by a single--if galactic--composer. I'd love more of these "moment musicales!" Who comes to mind? Maybe Jeremy Denk on Schubert's intentions in his final piano sonata, or Wang on the meters snd rhythms in Brahms' second piano concerto. OrAlexander Malofeev on the aspect and piece of his inspiration of a very young and confident master of the piano.

Very good point about what is 'Well-Tempered', as many people mistake it for the One World Order of Egalitarian ideals when in fact, it is still that olde and mean, now again arising, Nationalist World of tremendous Christian variety, and those martial and cultural struggles which are vastly preferable to those of the One World Order of Science, Globalism, and the totalitarian EU.
