  • Check out my first in the field with the camera here: • Is Nikon Z6 III a low ...
    Nikon Z6 III is here. And I must admit. I have big expectation for this camera.
    Are we getting a ISO machine? With the same autofocus quality as the Z8 and Z9. I am excited for the flip screen as a vlogger.
    I cannot wait for using this out in the field and take it to the extreme.

      Oh yes! I preordered it the same day it was possible so I´m hoping for it to arrive (to Sweden) very soon!

      It got my interest but then I saw the price of £2699 in the UK and thought that I can get a Lumix G9ii and I'm part way to getting another telephoto for that price. I don't care about the sensor size difference in case anyone says 😂
      Also for reference a mid range S5ii is going for almost £1k new here in the UK as well so for all the selling and buying I would have to do to change to Nikon it doesn't seem worth it at all. Still I enjoy seeing new cameras :)

      I am more interested for the z90 (crop camera) or a cheap (1500 dollars) full frame cam.

      @Kampani_2024 Seriously manufacturers need to start putting out decent APSC cameras. I was having a discussion the other day how they are the perfect in-between of m43 and FF!

    I’m really considering selling my canon r6 to get this. Nikon has more “affordable “ tele lenses for wildlife. Currently using a r6 with 100-500. I would love to try the 6iii and 180-600. Later on want to try some of their PF lenses

    Hey there, i just traded my Zf in for the Z6iii for the better ergonomics. But… though i am not a big video guy, i just need an all a rounder camera for wildlife (flying, running, and stills) and for landscape. I am not a professional, but i like good quality images so i can print and post on social media. Will this Z6iii (even though so many people say DR is bad) would it be good for a wildlife, nature, landscape camera? I don’t have a big budget, just want a camera that is great for what i do.

    It's a long over due needed up grade looks really good and performance seems to tick all the boxes , but outside of USA the price is way too high when you have to pay in currency other than USD.
    Z6III is too expensive everywhere right now , like check retail and nikons home page prices for Canada ,Europe UK, Australia and New Zealand they are crazy prices. Most people won't be buying as it is a massive difference in price compared to what Americans are paying with their local currency. It's like Nikon is saying to me , too bad so sad bad luck if you live outside of USA because you will have to over pay, if you want this Z6III camera.

    I am just looking for a camera that may let me get very close (as our birds are usually very far and we are forbidden to get into the private fields.So I have to crop. Sometimes very much. For now I have my Fuji xh2 and xt4, using the xt4 for the last 4 years. But I miss my full frame camera. Thank you for your great explanation!

      It’s a 1sec ring-buffer that runs as soon as you half-press the shutter. So it will then capture that 1sec buffer and store it to the memory card(s) as soon as you full-press.
      So then you don’t miss critical action-shots if you’re late on the shutter.

    I'm honestly not fussed, the Z6II had a lot of hype around it and I found the AF awful.
    I've shot Nikon for a long time including the Z6 soni know the AF fairly well.

    • @KPAki1Ler

      Just look at the AF of the zf, Z8, Z9 & z6iii reviews with the latest updates, it's on par with others.

    I've been shooting a D500 with the 200-500 f5.6 for years and been very happy with the files I get with the dx21 mp sensor. My concern about the Z6iii is its mp count. At 25 mp fx it seems like I will loose pixel density and resolution if I upgrade. Am I wrong?

    • @bassangler73
      @bassangler73 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'm shooting the same setup...Yes you will lose a lot of pixel density..I forget the exact number but a D500 has almost the same pixel density as the Z8 if it were scaled up to FF..I'm hoping Nikon will give us a D500 replacement and bump the mp to 24...

    • @ajc1482
      @ajc1482 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      A bigger concern for me would be the "loss" of 250mm of reach.. having the equivalent of 750mm at 5.6 is really used with wary Wading birds.

    • @jackstutts6439
      @jackstutts6439 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@ajc1482 I don't disagree. A 33mp crop frame sensor would be a dream come true. Can you say Z500, Nikon?

    • @bassangler73
      @bassangler73 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ajc1482 I agree, I love aps-c camera's..Like you said we would need to buy the 800pf or the 500pf which plays nice with tele's...But, yeah, I will take a DX body over FX...We need a DX 24-28 mp built like the Z9 with the best AF Nikon can do...I'm thinking stacked sensor and dual processors...I think it would shock them on sales...But I'm a raptor shooter so this would be a camera for me...

    Noise argument is invalid though.. The more MP, the more details, not more noise but you see it more clearly because you zoom in more,, and the more MP, the more easy to remove noise without losing details. It's math. I use a 61MP sensor and it has less noise than the 12 MP A7SIII. 24MP today is not optimal for birds/wildlife when you can have 45/50/61 and crop instead of using a 1.4 TC( or both crop and use TC)

    I don't understand the rational behind the Z6 III. It's clearly a Sony A7 IV, but at 33% higher price...

    • @trondwestby

      Never tried that camera. But you got a point

    • @ajc1482
      @ajc1482 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      the issue I have with Sony is the top end lenses are ridiculously priced whereas with Nikon you can get a 500mm f4 for around £1700
      And of course the Z6iii is more expensive, it's a brand new camera, the A7 IV is three years old now and at launch it cost around £2400 so it was only £200 cheaper than the Z6III

      That's my thoughts too. I had the same problems with the Z50/Z6ii combo. I liked the Z50 because it was lightweight and I travel a lot I ended up using it more than my Z6ii.

      I just came home from woodpecker session with this camera. And I must say I am impressed by the ISO performance. I get where you are coming from. But the way I think my Z9 is perfect in situations that I need to crop more. On shy birds and so on....

      @@trondwestby I have a strong use case for the large battery on the Z9, to a lesser extent the cropping room is useful too.
