Condolences to family and friends.
My mother also died prematurely at thirty-seven like this angel who sings, giving birth to my little brother, who unfortunately too could not resist the trauma of childbirth and I could not feel so much joy and emotion and enjoy both in life. I was not aware of the drama at the time because I was only three years old.
Today, at the age of sixty-eight, I still do not know how to understand this loss and I identify myself, ideally remaining close to Zander, now fifteen and son of this artist, who suffered being away from his mother, even before her death. I wish him to survive with strength and determination, as I have done from 1956 to today, keeping the beautiful memory of his beloved mother who now rests in peace.

I was a 17 year old high school student when Mindy was on top of the world! She quickly became one of my favorite voices in country music. It is hard to imagine how somebody so beautiful and talented could have such a tragic ending. She died at age 37 but she certainly knew what it felt like to be on top - doing more in 37 years than most people do in a life time. R.I.P fellow Florida girl!!
