The reason Rinoa is better than other scambaiters is that she is funny ..as well as being able to keep them on the hook. Some similar channels are at first entertaining but get tedious after a while. However Rinoa keeps the energy and quips coming even in long videos.
She isn't better than Kitboga, but far ahead of the rest in non-tedium. Those two are also good on Twitch just chatting; they enjoy the connection with their listeners. I can also listen to Deyo's Chico a good long while.

I'm sure your elderly aunt suffered so much stress, l would. l hope your aunt was ok and had yours and her family supporting her, that really saddens me, it can cause strokes etc at that age, thank goodness we have scam baiters, making the general public aware of these evil people, and saving us from being victims. RInoa is self-taught, so I know that she just started doing it and learned as she went along, building a community along the way. Make sure you use a VM and a VPN and don't give any real information, and start honing those skills, THAT'S IT, the rest is skill.
Rinoa's advice on this is to stay safe. Never use your own phone, computer or data. Also, I reckon you can learn quite a lot by watching the live streams on Twitch.
If I suspect someone is a scammer, if they're are cold dialing me, aside from not giving my basic information first, what else should I be reluctant to hand over freely, and in what ways can I get them to confirm they are actually who they say they are?
A big company like Microsoft or Amazon will NEVER call you. Always call them using a reliable number. Never let them send you to a web page or get you to download remote access software like Anydesk. So your questions are a bit redundant, never give any info at all to a cold caller and don't even try to confirm who they are, hang up and call back as above. In particular never use the number on an email. Others may have different methods but that's what I do.

If you see a charge on your statement you didn't expect (for a renewal) then call the company direct. Never call a number on an email or text. Any urgency to their request or asking for gift cards being an IRS agent should raise red flags!!

If you pick up thinking it's a call you are waiting for, and it's some bozo saying they're calling from 'The Amazon', 'The McAfee' or any place offering you 'free money'. They do not realize what they are unleashing when they hear her say she doesn't understand computers, and goes off into irrelevant rambling. They are invariably wrong, as she is a fierce troll and overtalker. They don't care what she has in her current account, they will still try to bamboozle her hoping she will give them whatever she has, or find a secondary account to 'pay them back'. Scammer logic also comes into play. They will say anything to keep their eyes on the prize, regardless of any obstacles or facts. After all they convince themselves that they're working hard to get the money. Lastly, Rinoa gets LOTS of reportable information from these numbskulls but doesn't always announce what she has discovered.

If you 'lose' your bank card you are responsible for what went missing, and a criminal investigation for defrauding the bank cannot be ruled out. An investigation into that happening is likely to pull up this comment on your social media postings. This channel does not endorse criminal actions, not promote them. It is not true to say that the bank will pay you back for 'losing' your card. I wouldn't recommend trying it.
