Kitboga did that once. As he tpyed *********** for his login password, the scammer said "No, ma'am, you have to type in your password in alpha-numeric form, letters and numbers". Kitboga said in his Edna voice that his "son" set up the account and that's how it always appeares when he types his password. It was funny, but very informative to any real victims who may watch the video.

Since a VPN makes it seem like you're coming from a different IP (or different part of the world) your bank may object to the login. However a bank's login mostly looks at the device you're using and if it doesn't recognise it it may require you to re-verify yourself (2FA or something). Even if you have the same computer and did a clean install of windows, it will appear as a new device. Also banks already have encryption/security when logged in so the VPN would be somewhat redundant but at least your ISP and anyone on your network will not see that you're logging into your bank or anything else for that matter. The scammer is lying about VPNs (what elses is new?) but I don't understand why he gives a crap about you using a VPN. Your IP address doesn't identify you as a customer purchasing stuff online. At least not directly, and automatically no one else knows your identity based on your IP address except your ISP and even then it's only in a log file. A sopena would have to be filed for your ISP to reveal that information to authorities suspect some sort of fraud/hacking/etc occurring on that IP address. An online shop wouldn't know this, nor care. IP addresses change all the time even if you're not using a VPN.
