She was really meant for the stage. Almost 8 years of not performing on a K Music shows and she did this? She must be insane. Love you girl!!!
Edit. Her last solo stage was for The baddest female in 2013, MTBD is under CRUSH album and she only performed it on their AON con after the released. She promoted on 2014 but that was as a group for 2NE1's stage, Come Back Home and they only performed on 2 Music shows and headed straight on AON. CL had stages with Hwa but she never had stages with Music Programs (ex. Mcountdown, Inkigayo, Show Champion, Music bank, Music core). YHY is a music program, yes but it's more of like a talk show.
Right? Watching this is like she never left. She was on that stage the entire time. But now she's better than ever.

Yeah, consistent live singers/rappers like Jessi, 2NE1 alum, Sunmi, and IU are still repping hard for early 2000s K-pop. However, it's worth reminding that weak live performances were common even before 2NEI rocked the girl group "cute or sexy" status quo. Now we're seeing the lack of emphasis on live vocals with rookie girl crush groups that was largely evident in the cute themed groups that previously dominated the charts, but that's to be expected with any genre saturation. That's why we'll see real talent like third gen Mamamoo become timeless the way the best of the second generation has grown to endure the shifting tides, and everyone else riding trends will struggle to stay relevant.
Holding her back was the biggest mistake ANYONE could have ever made. She’s a legitimate artist and can perform her ass off like she’s performing in an arena of over 100 thousand people. She delivers and leaves it all on the stage no matter how small or big the crowd she’s constantly consistent. I’m so happy she’s able to create and perform freely again

Difference I find is that most performers these days are too afraid to sound different from their recordings... and thus mostly sing very low, or just enough to match their recordings, and with little to no hype. CL to me has always been a performer who can hype the audience. Her voice alone is amazing and carries so much energy.
I think it's because most of them simply can not sing in live, or it would seems wrong. Let's not be afraid to say it lol
@@momohime1513 It's because some can't that it fuels their fear of singing live even more and makes them perform less than they actually can. I don't mind if an idol can't really sing, but I at least want to hear them live and be hyped up. But if they can't sing and I don't hear them? Yeah...
Perfection (in terms of EVERYTHING! Vocals, choreography, etc.) is much more prevalent for the past two generations (if we’re in a new Gen, I have no clue).
With many 2nd Gen groups and idols, everything is raw. You can actually hear their vocals. The recording didn’t overpower them. That’s why with groups like 2NE1, their entire aura can hype up a crowd naturally. Seeing CL perform like this reminded me of a great times of 2NE1 days. I actually got chills out of happiness.
I don’t really get that with most groups today because again, perfection is key to any performance now. One flop and everyone will shun them for it - even if it’s minor.
Good catch. And I think most songs are trying to demonstrate how the artists “eat CDs”. However this is a rap song, and you can go all out all you :D
@@handicui960 Yeah, eating CDs nowadays is standard that majority don't outperform their CDs, that's why I don't feel no hype although the performance may be good. I would say it's still more on the performer, not just the song or its genre. There are many ways to hype for different genres, but standards are limiting idols from going all out in fear of many reasons. They don't have to be amazing performers, I literally just want to be able to hear them live, or switch it up a little and not just eat their CDs. XD

I love how she doesn't mind straying from the playback track. She hypes the crowd, she changes her tonation, she purposely skips a few lines to make facial expressions its just SUCH an experience to see her perform. You can see she is the most comfortable on stage

The talent the charisma the everything Cl not only has and has had paved the way for other idols to try to come close to… its beyond words. My animal spirit, role model since I was 13 , Now Im 24 and still. Its so emotional. Strong stage presence, confidence, sexaappeal, drive, vibe, flow, rap skills, strong stable singing, she is insane .... She is on fire. No one is on higher level in Kpop than she is. G-dragon and CL - legendary. Oh god, huge legends.
Her performance here speaks volumes of how great of an entertainer she really is.
The difference between CL debuting her song vs. other kpop artists is that she sings everything live no matter how tiring the performance may be. Her voice stays consistent. All her performances for this debut “spicy” are all so different. She puts her own spin to every performance and she gives her all.
Other kpop artists/ groups, when they debut a song, you can tell their lip syncing. Or they purposely play the backtrack louder than their normal voice….
Minzy and not long after, CL? HECK YES. This Blackjack is beyond happy about this!
