I’m so happy I have the PB. I’ve been really lusting after a 101 for a while. Nice to see it can get into that territory. I’m not surprised though, it’s an absolute chameleon.
Thanks for your effort, always interesting. This synth doesn't scratch my itch at all though for these sounds. Have you seen the Behringer Pro 800 f-sound demo from Jexus?
Yeah, like I said in the video, its strengths lie elsewhere, and while it gets into the territory, it doesn't nail it. I haven't seen the Jexus vid, but will check it out. Thanks.
The whole brute series never spoke to me, i'm not sure why, i suppose it's the filter. I like Arturia and their ui/sequencers etc. I have the minifreak, which can get very close to that boc sound, despite being a hybrid. Ngl i'm kinda relieved, if this had sounded amazing i would have been plagued by GAS :D
Not convincingly. Like I say in the video, while this half decent synth gets close I don't think it nails it. The oscillators sound different, the filters and envelopes are different, and the programmer in this case tried to get as close as possible despite that.
@@hazedtape Not in this case. I was going for as close to absolute imitation as I could get, putting feelings aside. Also ignoring the fact that the Polybrute has no shortcomings when it comes to expression of course.

Yes. It's very different sounding, but with a bit of effort it can get into most territories.
Nice work! I like your BOC inspired patches, that last one with the stacked 5ths really capture their sound.
Thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed them.
Which synth with stacked 5ths and slight pitch modulation and detune doesn't sound like boc though :D
Very evocative sounds, you’ve definitely captured the BoC sound palette, to my ears. Right, on goes “Music has The Right..”
Thanks for checking it out :)
Love the Boards of Canada stuff, and also Carbon Based Lifeforms, just off to make a patch on my PB

Great sounds! Care to share your patches?
Thanks. Keep an eye out, I may get a pack of them together soon.
Sounds better than the originals imo and why shouldn't it, we can progress past Roland
I have never understood how people can live with wobbly keyboard stands.
Yeah, it'll be upgraded soon. Priorities :)
At $2500+ it better do.
Just about half decent synth can do BOC. It’s up to the programmer.
