Thanks for the info. I did see that the part numbers are the same. I originally thought someone may have used a clutch bracket and flipped it over. Go figure........Thanks for sharing your knowledge. It's always appreciated!!!
I personally think that Kroil has much better penetrating capabilities compared to WD40. For the price, WD40 is a great multipurpose product with great water displacement properties. As far as a rust buster........... I'll take Kroil, hands down, over anything, but you sure do pay the price............
Next time you have to remove the braking/clutch cable from lever you don't need to backup the adjusting screw. Just remove the cotter pin and washer and pull out the bushing. Then you can simply slide out the cable out of the lever and remove it via the slot in the perch.
Every time I've gotten a bike with that silver stuff wrapped on the cable yeah ..it's a slow tedious process of snapping it off. One thing I was wondering do you have some kind of brake switch for the front brake to light up the rear brake light. My 1970 does not and I don't know what it actually looks like I think in the manual there says there is one but mine didn't come with one. Does that one have some kind of switch that activates the brake light when you pull in the front brake lever. Great video Thank you
@MoeLarrycurly1 None of the earlier bikes that I've seen are equipped with front brake light switches. That's a great question, so I started to do a little research. From what I see, I don't think Harley started putting brake switches on the front brake lever until the late eighties, which to me seems hard to believe. Hopefully, some people out there can help us answer this question. Thanks for the comment, Moe. It's appreciated 👏
@SilverNutsGarage-di5ls Well my 1980 has that little teeny switch that you have to be careful when you insert it it's like 3/4 of an inch long and 3/8 in diameter and screws into the housing. Now that's the kind of that's the controls I think that came out in 72 they have the two small buttons on the right and a rocker switch for I think was on and off Killswitch. I tried them on the 1980 they had modern switches on controls on that but when I went back to stock the clutch lever did not play well with the spewth transmission which is designed like a 5-speed Evo transmission. So that's why I went and put the large bulkier style they had in the early '90s and late '80s and the clutch works real good now because the clutch cable goes into the housing on that style on the right hand side rather than work an arm on the left hand side. My manual seems to have or the parts book even some vague representation of a switch but it's so hard to see and it's quite confusing really. But thanks for your reply always enjoy your videos I don't have anything that old so that is very interesting to me..
@MoeLarrycurly1 My buddy Jones has a stock 70 flh that we pulled out of a shed. It doesn't have a front lever break switch either. Makes me curious if it was an add-on?
@SilverNutsGarage-di5ls Well if it gets a little warmer I might do a video out there but it's so cold I got a little heater in the garage it's only 50,000 BTU it works but when it gets down to zero or below or 10 above it takes so long to heat up but. I'll have to do a little video on what I've seen in my manual but I'm pretty sure it's at something about a switch I've watched that video of that bike he's got I love to have an original paint set mine has been repainted it's not a bad paint it's kind of a burgundy but original paint would be cool bike. Thing I like the best is it's got a kickstarter
@MoeLarrycurly1 Original paint is getting harder to find, and if you can find it, you pay the price.......Looking forward to your next video, stay warm!!!
Right and Left Brake/Clutch Lever have the same Parts#. One is always upside down

Another good video I see a lot of people using Kroil is it any better then something like WD 40

My 70 flh does not have a front break switch only rear front is mechanical break only if I want a break light to come on I need to press rear break
