I look at 55 at planting with a predicted 120 heat units in the first 14 days after planting. Is that too aggressive? I also consult weathertrends360 for the soil temp forecast.
Thanks. Yes, 55 seems to be the magic number. We see that soil temps at 4" follow air temps very predictably. It's a combination of soil temp and moisture. Cooler temps in dry soil is less harmful than cool temps with a cool rain. Thanks for watching.
