Ciao DC, great videos, what are the engineering options available if the oil pump wear is in the housing. I have looked at a coupe of AJS 18, with poor oil scavenging and believe this is a common problem due to pump housing wear, any advice would be truly appreciated, Lisa
Hi dick , on my 49 I have recently bought , i noticed after seeing your video, mine has a washer on on the sealant only one ( 7.56 ) , anyway it hasn't been ridden or completed , so my question is , as long as the engine isn't turned while this is removed , to remove washer and add sealant , can the pump shaft move out of position . ?
If you do not rotate the engine after removing the guide pin, the pump spindle will not move. Make certain the 1/4 inch diameter pin is inserted into the threaded guide. The end of the pin that has been reduced in diameter is down, towards the ground. I rarely check the comments here on YT, and the best way to reach me is ridenut@comcast.net. Stay safe, DC
Permatex aviation form a gasket is perfect for the application. Also great on drain bungs and those annoying crank case bolts that always weep. My Oil Enfield isn't any more, no drops under it, and yes, it does have oil in it. 😂

I live 5 munutes away from the site of the old factory in Plumstead....
Get a shovel and go see if there is any "buried treasures", like a brand new G80...
Can you still buy these new ? If so from who . Cheers
Yes, from Jampot.Com, the UK AJS/Matchless owners club, and from AMC Classic Spares in the UK.
