The Awen Cittern by Tim Reede Guitars

This is the original Awen model long scale cittern built in 2023 by Tim Reede of Tim Reede Guitars, Minneapolis.
The 15" wide, 25.5" scale length, five courses, ten strings, Gotoh 510 tuning machines, 4 1/8" body depth, nut 1.75", lattice braced
This model shown is made with torrefied Adirondack spruce and Koa with bloodwood binding and abalone inlays.
In this video, Xenia has tuned the cittern in standard DGDAD with the lowest two courses (DG) tuned in Octaves.
The audio is captured from an Ear Trumpet Labs "Edwina" microphone passing through a Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 interface.
In 2022, Xenia, a long established electric bassist, singer and musicologist in the Twin Cities (who had recently began teaching herself Irish Bouzouki and other cittern like instruments) approached renown master luthier Tim Reede to see if he would be interested in building a long scale cittern.
After some discussion and finalization of plans, Tim set to work and created this gorgeous and resonant instrument.
* Awen is a Welsh term commonly translated into English as "Inspiration" particularly with regard to bardic & poetic traditions.
